- dont playITS A FRAUD!!!
- nycboygaI received a call on my iPhone from this number around 8:30am and immediately declined the call as I do not accept calls from unknown or unusual numbers. Then at about 9:00am I received a text message stating "FREE TEXT MSG alert-Bank of America has temporarily limited the use of your Check Card due to unusual activity. Please call 1-866-459-9195." I first looked up the 315 number as it said it was from Utica, NY on this site and found out that it actually is from Bank of America. This number is on the back of your debit card on the bottom. I called the 866 number and was greeted by an automated system that walked me through some questions about recent transactions because the bank thought I had some unusual activity and they asked me to confirm or deny the transactions. These notifications are because you may have made or tried to make a large purchase or purchase from a merchant that you've never purchased from before. It is legit. Either answer the call or call the number back. It will automatically look up the phone number you are calling from and if it matches their records, you wi be asked to verify your name and the last 4 numbers of your ssn. The hold that was placed on your card should be removed within 5 mins of your completion of the verification. If you have denied the transactions, I'm not sure what happens but I assume you get transferred to a live rep. Hope this helps!

- samual replies to dotYES they can, that SSN is your Identity
- Veronica| 1 replyThis is a fraudulent phone call. Do not give out any information. Call B of A's 1-800 number listed on the back of your card. I got a call today right after some fraudulent activity was going on in my account.
- ScullyThis is not a legit BOA number, I've gotten calls from this number and I have never, ever banked at BOA.
- Caller: BOA
- karyn sweatCalled asked for cardholder, due to unatural activity on debit card. While speaking checked phone number on call log. THen ran a check on atm checks by Bof A, found the number as a fraud.
confronted the caller, and asked for his supervisor. would not give me heis supervisor unless I was the card holder.I Then hung up.- Caller: Private
- Voice of Doom| 1 replyI had to rent equipment which required a "hold" on the card. Typically, BoA will refuse this thinking it is an illegal transaction. I called the security/fraud number at 1-866-370-0800 to pre-approve the amount which they did. However, apparently it--with some purchase of tickets--triggered a fraud warning so I received the call from this 315-724-4022 number. I checked here, then called BoA security/fraud at the first number. They confirmed it was an automatic check, that the 315 IS a legitimate number generated by automatic fraud protection--it can call you at any time.
So it is legitimate. Hope that helps!- Caller: Bank of America Fraud Protection
- Call type: Event reminder
- Voice of Doom replies to Voice of DoomAlso, as others indicate, this is the number on the BACK ATM card you are invited to "call collect" if "outside the US" to access security.
They will NOT give you information when you call them because they fear YOU are someone who stole the card number!
If you are worried, simply call BoA. If you do NOT have a BoA account, tell them to leave you alone. Probably just a mistake. - therickerI called BofA and they called the number for me saying it was Bofa but that my account was not in trouble of any kind. I called the Bofa Fraud Dept and they said email abuse@bankofamerica.com
wtf- Caller: BofA
- George Mauro replies to ~A!| 1 replyNope, i think you're all wrong.
I just talked to the people on the other end of that phone number and they knew things about the account that only BofA would know...AND they said, "If at any time you are unsure of this phone call, please call the number on the back of your Credit/Debit card."
So I don't think this is a scam...everyone needs to relax a bit...
g - MustangmanYes, this is a legit Number, check your ATM card.
Automated service just got my card re activated, although i could not verify because of the holiday LOL
I guess fraud doesn't happen on holidays to get to talk to a real person ha ha- Caller: Bank Of America
- jsunit's a legit call from bank of america. i updated my apple store terms of service and apple reconfirmed that my bank account was still active. that triggered the fraud alert and they put a hold on my card. i also recieved an email. talked to customer service online and they confrimed the hold and gave me the fraud department's number. called the number, talked to rep, they confirmed i was the owner of the account through personal info, and removed the hold.
- Caller: bank of america
- the dude replies to George Maurohey jack ass! I don't bank with BoA, it's a [***] scam! BOA has their heads so far up their own [***], they can't get a clue. I've tried to call them to report it. Guess what it's impossible to talk to a human being. So if you do bank with BOA, your an idiot.
- SCAM SCAM SCAMYes, this number IS in fact on the back of the debit card. BUT, it's for you to call collect from outside the US. They won't call you on this number.
I've had a couple of these calls. When I called BoA at the number on the BoA website after getting one of these calls, they said nothing was wrong with my card. It's fake. Don't give them any info. And yes, they are trying to steal your SSN.- Caller: 315 724 4022
- KellyI got a call from someone claiming to be from Bank of America & asking for my wife. Since the account was under my wife's name they wouldn't let me "what kinda fraud was happening on her account" The caller id is was showing bank of america & also #315.724.4022. The rep wouldn't give me anymore info except urgent that wife call them back @ 877-833-5617.
I went to bank of america's website. I selected contact us at upper right hand side. I then selected in the drop down box Checking & savings. It then displays "Call Us

- TraceyDO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION IF THIS NUMBER CALLS. No bank will EVER call and want personal information. This number keeps calling me at home but I am not a BOA customer. If they are truly Bank of America you can call the bank back.
