I tried to take money out of the ATM last week and could only make one withdrawal, not enough to cover the entire amount I needed (ATM limits).  I then went to a store to make a PIN purchase and take the rest out as cash back, which worked fine.  A few minutes later, I got a call from the above number and let it go to voice mail.  I after hearing the voice mail I noticed the number they left for me to call back was different than the number on my caller ID (which does match my BofA card).  So I called back the number on my card (not the one the voice mail requested I called back at) and there was actually a hold on my card and they needed to verify my last few purchases.  The restriction was lifted right away.  But then I got two more calls from the same number asking I call back a different number which I ignored.  Seems kinda fishy. If someone is trying to steal my identity, the joke's on them... I've already run it into the ground!

I got a missed call from this phone number 10:56 AM PST 03/03/2014, voice mail was blank, no actual message.  And I don't have a BOA card, debit or credit.

Well, the answer to that is yes and no.  The "actual" phone number was issued to BOA and is printed on the back of many if not all BOA credit or debit cards but in small print as a contact # for people outside the country.  That said--it is also a phone number well known by phishers that're after your personal information, scam artists with equipment that can lie to your caller ID so the # they're using is listed as BOA 1-315-724-4022 and any voice mail call back # or any info or questions you get, whether live or recorded, by answering or returning this call could be fraudulent.  Your best course of action, if you have a BOA debit or credit card and you've received a call from this # is to call the customer service phone number listed on your statement/bill from BOA.

The calls are automated and they come directly from Bank of America after I have called them to ask that an alert be added to my accounts.  The recording just says they received my alert recently and want to make sure I was the person who placed the alert.  If I did not place the alert the recording asks that I call back and a phone number is given.  That's it.  Example:  Before I leave on an International trip I call BOA and tell them what countries I will be traveling and the days I will be there.  This allows their fraud department to expect my use of an ATM card and a VISA card outside the US.

If you are receiving calls from this number and you are not a BOA customer, or if you did not request some alert be placed on your BOA accounts, then it could be a fraud call using the BOA number. Only you can decide if the call is fraud.

You are the one committing the fraud. You're trying to convince everyone that your phone calls are legitimate yet you are deceiving, lying and stealing their money. You can't hide behind your "unknown name". I received a call from you a few minutes ago and the.wisdom from God instructed me to hang up. You will be caught. You will be persecute. And you will be judged by the Lord himself.

This is the number listed on the back of the ATM/DEBIT card for calling from Outside the US to call collect.  If it were B of A they would leave a message.  use the Customer Service number to call back or contact your local branch directly.

This is legit Bank of America call. Other posters are correct this number is listed on your credit card to call.

They left me a voicemail message because I did not activate my new credit card yet & there was about to be a lapse in service if I didn't activate.

Received a call from this numb er 3157244022 saying that I was being sent a new debit card.  Although the number is clearly on the back of the debit card (for overseas callers) it is a scam.  I called BOA and asked told them that I had not received my new card and they told me that my account had not been compromised and that new cards were not issued.  My husband got the same call and he received a new debit card.  We are checking if the card is legit or not.  BEWARE the agent with 1-800-432-1000 said do not use or call them back.  Call BOA and confirm!

Haven't a clue who placed the call from 315-724-4022; I do not take calls from numbers I do not recognize -- that's why voice mail is priceless.  However, a message wasn't placed in voice mail.

not a bank of america customer
I have not had a bank of america credit card for almost a decade if not longer. i have gotten a call from this utica number 2x in the last 2 days. the first time the call came in sunday morning at 10 am there was a voicemail in spanish and the only thing i could make out was bank of america and a 4 digit card number. the second time there was no message.

why would bank of america call me and leave a message in spanish? why would they call at 10am sunday morning? this is annoying.

I answered this call even though I didn't recognize the number because I'm expecting an appliance repairman today.

The call lasted about 17 seconds and was complete silence on their end.  I looked online and found it was somehow associated with Bank of America.

I called their regular customer service number.  My husband's debit card had been compromised and they've sent a new one.  They had no explanation for why the person who called me from the BofA number never said anything.

Lately I have been flooded by this number, and I don't do any business with bank of america.
Banks rarely call (not 10 times a day, at least), but when they do, they leave message, and specific reason.
Beware, subhumans on the other side of the line.

It is fraudulent. Routes the call overseas. Called sprint customer service, verified fraudulent. The people who say it is a good number are being duped or are in on it. BOA is not going to give you A number that is collect and route it overseas. Only call a number on the back of your card, this number is not on your card.
