Report a phone call from 315-724-4022 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- MikeJust adding to the long line of truthful information: Got a phone call from (315) 724-4022. I picked up, and there was no one on the other end. Being a police officer, I got a little curious so I searched the number on Google. I saw several sites saying it was a scam, and chose to not return the call.
A couple hours later, I received a text message from 70650 stating, "FREE TEXT MSG alert- Bank of America has temporarily limited the use of your Check Card due to unusual activity. Please call 1-866-459-9195 To Opt Out reply STOP"
This piqued my curiosity, as I do not receive text alerts from Bank of America. I made a call to the number on the back of my card, and the customer service representative assured me that A) my account was not limited, B) they did not call me, nor did they text me, and C) this was a common scam which they have been dealing with for years.
Don't be a lamb when it's your time to be a lion. - AlexGot a call from this number after my card was stolen and used at several gas stations. It can be legit but like someone else here said, ***CALLER ID CAN BE SPOOFED*** so don't ever provide any information to someone calling from this number. Hang up and call them back on a known 800 number.
- LindsayLook... this IS Bank of America Fraud Protection. THIS NUMBER IS CLEARLY LISTED ON THE BACK OF YOUR DEBIT CARD. (Seriously, take a look). You should probably return / answer this call, as something on your account requires your attention.
That being said, always be weary of answering ANY phone calls from ANY number when giving your personal information. While this is the correct Bank of America number, it is fairly easy to spoof a caller ID (manipulate someone's caller ID to display any number you want, even if you aren't calling from it). It's unlikely but there are all kinds of apps that let you do this from your iPhone right now. Your best bet is to dial the correct number yourself and speak to a rep so you'll always be safe.- Caller: Bank of America
- YuletideI have received a call 12 times in the past 3 days from this number. I haven't called back, but people are saying it is a Bank of America number.....if this is a legitimate call, why are they calling me? I don't even have an account at Bank of America.
- Caller: 315-724-4022
- nogard0the number is posted on the back of the card .... so the number may be legit but the caller id can be spoofed by any scammer and hence can be a fraud . so ALWAYS call the bank ... never give info for anything other call than a call you originate yourself !!! and NEVER to a number in an email or voice mail - use your bank contact numbers or go in person to bank..
- MASI got a call from 315-724-4022. Computer message saying that a hold might be placed on my account due to potentially fraudulent ATM activity if I don't call back at 866-502-0808 by November 7th (two weeks?) and give a six digit "message code". I didn't like the sound of it, so I called the number on the back of my card. A BOA reprentative said that there was no hold on my card, no unusual activity, and said that neither 315-724-4022 nor 866-502-0808 were BOA numbers. She said BOA does make call calls when suspected fraud, but this wasn't one of them. ALWAYS CALL THE NUMBER ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARD.
- SOLegitimate number. They'll have you call 866-242-6289 and validate some simple information and then ask you about recent purchases. They will not ask for your social unless it's on the phone prompt, which you can bypass.
They called me because I had recently authorized my debit card to make a large purchase on iTunes on my home iMac....this number is legit. BofA would do well to put this number on the back of their cards so we know it's for real in the future.- Caller: Bank of America
- A Hanson replies to ~A!This is a legit Bank of America number.. it's the number they call from when checking to see if your account has been compromised. I've received way too many calls so I am sure this is correct!
- Adam W| 1 replyBE WARY of astroturfers on these types of sites! (People that lie and say these kinds of numbers/messages are valid. These are the same people that are running the scam, knowing that people will try to look them up on the web to see who is calling them.)
It's very simple: ALWAYS call the phone number on the back of your bank card or a phone number from your bank's website.- Caller: Scam McScammerson

- JLKzI was suspicous and I did not call the number that this number left in a voice mail. I logged onto BoA website, and spoke with a representitive directly through their chat option. He did verify that my card had been placed on hold for suspicious activity, gave me a number to call. I had to verify all the purchases that BoA found "suspicious" and the chat rep stayed on with me. That took all of 5 minutes, and the hold was immediately lifted. Good looking out BoA, just confused because I've shopped at those locations before and there was no problem. Maybe this is a sign I have a spending problem... hm.

- Jamesb1 replies to dotI just got the same call. I called the number on the back of my card and they said it was legit. There was a hold on my card for unusual activities. If the number you called and gave info to is 315-724-4022 you are ok.
- BuddyThis is a 100% legit number from the Bank of America fraud department. I just arrived in California from the east coast. I withdrew cash from the airport ATM and took a $115 cab ride. This number called me at 5:30am Pacific time. Once I looked here and saw it was BOA, it all made sense to me, My recent transactions WERE unusual.
I then called the BOA customer service line. BOA confirmed that they called and there was a temporary hold on my account. They connected me to the automated fraud number. I was asked to enter my card number and the last 4 digits of my social security. The automated system then asked me to verify the last three transactions.
If you are fearful that it may be a hoax, do what I did. Just call the BOA customer service department.- Caller: Bank of America
- Big SteveWife got a call from this number telling here there was suspicious activity on her card. I told her not to call back and a good thing. Called the number on the back of my BOA card and they stated that they had not called and that there are no "flags" on our account. I would not trust this number.
- It's A Fraud FolksReceived the fake call as well. Confirmed with BoA that this is in fact a phishing fraud.

- KevinYou didn't confirm crap! This is a legit number. Buch of nut jobs on here
- Caller: Bank of America
- slgKeep receiving these annoying calls at all hours. I do not anwer, because the number is the only thing that appears on the caller id.
- Gary LeeYes, it is a scam as is the text message. This is not BofA. However, they do seem to ba able to get the last four digits of your credit/debit card, which of course shows on the receipt from most anywhere you have ever charged anything, so it's not hard for them to get it. If you start getting these calls you might want to think about anywhere you have only recently started doing charges, or any one-time purchases at place you don't usually patronize.

- Mark| 1 replyThis is a legit number. Someone used my card to purchase 700$ at an out of state Target.
- Tom replies to DanI think you are tied in with the suspects, trying to make people believe a lie by saying this is a legit number! Especially if I do not bank with BOA and still get a call !!
