Why say something like someone is trying to steal information when it really was PAYPAL?

The reason I know is that I had a missed call, and ran the number on google and landed here.
Meanwhile Paypal is in the process of helping me with the debt card.

Surprisingly this was really a legit charge. Login to your pay pal account direct and search your history. I really did order something and use my pay pal account. There are alot of scams and beware, but the charge for me which showed up on my statement with this number was legit.

My Grandmother had her idenity stolen from a PayPal employee two years after I used her Credit Card to by a secret x-mas gift...I used my e-mail address which is why when $300 dollars was charged to her card for a gaming website I caught it fast. Luckly her credit card also cought it as soon as it happened and stopped all charges, but i have learned my lesson I look at all my email carefully and don't by anything using PayPal!

No call.  Just two different charges on PayPal showing the phone number 4029357733.  Playing detective to see what gives.

just got a call from this number. it is paypal confirming a payment i made yesterday. it was brief and to the point.

Found a deduction in my bank account to this number 402-935-7733 for 99.95.  No additional information.  Have filed a claim against it and had to destroy and re-issue debit cards.  Still haven't found out what it is for.

i had this exact same charge on my credit card statement 11-03-2010 and this crazy [***] bank of mines seem to be doing nothing cause the charge is still pending. what did you do and who did you contact i cant find and contact number.....

We just found out the number 4029357733 paypal has just hit out credit card with $455.00 went into our paypal account and nothing showing, have not bought anything whats going on !!!!!!! Paypal not very secure

I have a charge of  $ 60.00 from Paypal casa of 4029357733 NE l don't know where they come from . And  i don't know how they got my count number .

PayPal calls me on a regular basis to confirm that I am consenting to my debit card usage. They are not stealing my info because I provide none over the phone. I only say "yep. its fine" and in fact they can verify basic info like last 4 of social and account address.

This is a PayPal phone number. They have lots of them.

I saw a charge with this phone number as a reference on a charge on my credit card through Paypal. i started to get worried about it and tracked the charge through paypal and it is a change for something I ordered on e-bay.  Turns out for me the charge was correct.  Not sure why everyones issues are with the same number.  Just goes to show, you need to watch your accounts, because noone else is...

ditto!! company account charged various charges from paypal and the names were all different but the phone number is always the same.  402-935-7733.  they use various starnge names.  my question: is the 402-935-7733 the number for PAYPAL or for the vendor??  Or is it for both -with charges thru PAYPAL???   to my knowledge no one from PAYPAL has called the company.

I got a call this afternoon from this phone number stating he was calling on behalf of payapl checking on an ebay transaction I had made earlier. I told him all my paypal transactions are done through email and that I did not trust him to discuss anything in regard my paypal activities. Does anyone know if this person has access to paypal acount informations of people he calls on their cell phones? If so what do I need to do?
