- AnonymThe first time they called, I answered all the questions and they called back 2 days later saying I could choose a prize and they would deliver it. I said the next day at 1:30. They never showed up. 2 weeks later they called again with the survey and I stopped them right away, telling the girl that last time they wasted my time.
She promised that the only reason they failed to show was because I never answered the phone when they called just before our appt. time with a confirmation that I'd be home. Also, this time they would show for sure, but then when she found out that my husband couldn't be home for the appt. she hung up.- Caller: Breathe E-Z Home
- AthonyYes i have also had calls from these people, and yes they are trying to see air filter/ vacum but there pruduct is really good and works so to call it a scam I think is wrong, but do not agree with there methods in withch they use to try and get in your house
- StephWe just had a presentation from them last night. I answered their survey and "won" a prize. I had the choice of either a tupperware set, knives set or vacation package. I chose the tupperware as I'm sure the knives were cheap and the vacation package was 'too good to be true' (which after reading about World Wide Travel seems to be the case: http://www.ripoffreport.com/Travel-Services/Worldwide-Travel-Cen/worldwide-travel-center-what-a-aa72y.htm)
A couple showed up last night at 6:30 pm showing off the air filtration system which apparently covers 1,400 square feet of the house (BS). Then moved on to the vacuum... waste of time. The only good thing that came from the vacuum presentation was the fact that they vacuumed our family room, kitchen and couches. Downside: They showed us all the 'dirt and dust' they picked up from our carpet by dumping out the vacuum contents, on our carpet (and left it there!) The lady then tried to pressure me into taking the vacation package, which seemed like a scam so I took the tupperware. Then, they told us the cost of the product (some astronomical price of $3,000+). I told them we couldn't take the product, maybe another time... so she tried to lock us into a contract, which I said no about. Then after that she called her supervisor "Barb" and proceeded to talk with her for roughly half an hour... going back and for from her to us to try to squander a deal. Finally I had to tell her "Look, we're not buying anything and I'm not budging" before she finally got the point. They even tried to sell us the 'demo' vacuum if we'd buy the air filtration system in 6 month's time. Again I said no. After they got the hint, it took them all of 2 minutes to pack up and get the hell out. The 'deomonstration' lasted TWO freakin' hours! Now I'm hearing about Breathe E-Z operating from a long distance number (after the sales lady used our phone for half an hour) -- if I get any long distant charges she'd better buck up because I work in law and won't hesitate to send them a threatening letter.- Caller: Breathe E-Z
- Lucky ManYup .... I got that call to do a Survey in which I aswered questions about having asthma, a pet, do you prefer to use a debit or credit card etc. At the end she mentioned I could win a prize for doing the survey... so I gave my name. Well they called my wife a day later telling her I had won a prize and she could choose between the Knives or Tupperware set... (we weren't even offered the vacation as we must seem like simple people). She said she would take the Tupperware and they asked for our address, thinking they were going to mail it - she gave them the address then they informed her that they would set up a time for somebody to personally deliver it... of course only when we were both home. Then she said that they would be "Showing a demostration and that there would be no pressure to buy that they were more concerned with word of mouth" Yeah right....
I was told by my oh so apologetic wife as she knew it was a scam cause of course it is high pressure sales.... As I have already sat through one of these vacuum sales pitches years back where it took me 2 1/2 hrs to get rid of them and at that time I lived in a 700 sqft apartment with maybe 400 sqft of carpet and they wanted $2000 for a vacum to do that much carpet... you had to be kidding.... I would hate to see their eyes widen with the house I live in now - it would probably take me 4 hrs to get rid of them.....
End result - I called the number back from the survey 403-536-6727 and told them we did not want the prize and to cancel the appointment. The woman was nice about it but if they show up I will be telling them to please leave!!!
Thanks to all of the other people here who left warnings - we used them to make sure we should cancel this appointment.- Caller: BBDO (?) Breathe E-Z
- JanGreat feedback everyone! We are now January 2010 and this company is still calling people which gives me little faith in our government complaint system. Same story as everyone except when "Breathe EZ" called me today to offer me a door prize I refused to give them my home address. I said if they wanted to mail me something they could send it to my business. The woman on the phone then hung up. I guess I didn't give her the answer she was looking for. I read this blog AFTER today's transaction so I'll be prepared should they call again. And for the record, my caller ID only said "2006" and nothing else.
I've lodged a complaint through the as well but based on the blog's dates this company has been doing this for over a year now.- Caller: Breathe EZ
- O_O| 1 replyWell I went for the group interview tonight, and it wasnt till getting home and my dad urging my to google these guys that I see mainly negative feedback.
During the interview they breakdown different "departments" you could say. And among them is customer service which is what everyone is describing as the ones that call asking about all your information. They talk about a few other departments and among them was the ones who appear at your door to present Breathe EZ Homes, air purifiers. They offer over $3000.00 promised per monthly salary. And depending on how much you work you can make up to 4800.00 monthly. They say you only set up appointments at 1pm,3pm, 6pm, and 8:30pm. But I've read every single post in this thread and people are saying reps have to come when both married people are home, so I'm not sure how that would even work. I noticed about five people walk out during the LENGTHY (5:00-8:00) presentation. Maybe because they realized the newspaper said this was a job opportunity for an electrical company..or that Ken, the speaker wouldnt say how much this purifier would cost at any point even when directly asked.. saying that he didnt want people to get hung up on sales. He made everything seem very laid back and flexible with good pay which is why I jumped on this interview. I JUST got the call back saying. "Congratulations, you're on our "good" list, please come at such and such date for the further training" I'm a young woman and am probably too naive to pick up on 'obvious' signs. I really dont want to get involved with a company that lies from the outset, or cheats and steals from people if that's the case. And if so...is that just shady business men and not the companies fault? Something doesnt add up...if you're promised 3000+ as a set salary why would the sales people be under so much pressure to sell? I'd be happy with that amount. Does the salary eventually get cut down to just comission? Or are they just greedy? I would probably do fine giving a 30-45minute presentation...it shouldnt be longer than that. And I would never try to steal from people. Bah, very frustrated and uncertain. So if anyone that has been employed with them can give me more info. I do plan to go back next week for the 3 day training session. I'll only need one day to address the things I've read here. I will be printing out quotes, not your names or info. Just random sentences, and I want to know right off the bat are these really high pressure con artists.
What I dont understand though is how can they be doing so well, and pay so well, and be around for apparently 80 years? - Ashleyhelp me i just [***] scammed myself i need help, what do i do? do i call the police?

- tamaraThey called me a few days ago and I did the survey...just called me back to say i could choose one of 3 prizes that i had one for completeing the survery...I said that usually this is a scam and too good to be true. She ASSURED me there was no hidden scams and they would send me the hotel vouchers. After i gave her my address she wasnted my husbands name for the trip...I said what if I dont want to bring my husband on the trip???lol...I refused to give her my husbands name. then after that information was given she said one of her clagary employess would personally deliver the package and show me some ' word of mouth' advertising on another product. I freaked on her for lying and asked for her manager...she then put me on hold and came back saying she was another girl...after arguing with her she put me on hold and picked up the phone sayoong...' Hello you have reached telus"...can you beleive this?? i said I was going to report her after telling me the owner wasnt there and the other managers werent availaable and she hung up on me...The number she called from was 403.648.3978

- korlindaJust got a call and they told me I could win a prize. the prizes are a 2 night trip, a rice cooker or a knife set. they want to show you their product which is a vaccum cleaner/air purifyer. they want to come over to show the product-no pressure to buy-(my *****) They are kind of like tri-star industries with their vaccuum, they were so pushy i had to kick them out of my house!! but they are coming, so i get my free prize and I aint buyin no breathe EZ product.
- D replies to JI also had this identical experience. The questions about professions also sent me for a spin, since that has no bearing on the air quality of my home. The survey was conducted in the last week of June, and the follow-up call to inform me that I had been selected from a draw came today (3rd week of July)... It should be noted that my call display showed "private caller", not even a number!
I agree that you cannot be too paranoid... infact, I just sent out a mass email to my family and freinds telling them what just happened. During this follow-up call, a lady asked me for my address, at which point I told her I had a few questions of my own. I requested a website address or some other form of contact that could be used to verify the legitimacy of Breath EZ Homes, and she stated "Our website is still under construction", and "We are relying on word-of-mouth advertising at this time"... mmmhmm!
I told her that I am not going to give out personal information unless I could research the company. Interestingly enough, she promptly ended the call - not what you expect from someone representing a legitimate organization! I looked them up on the Better Business Burea Canada website immediately after the phone call, and came up empty... soooo, I'm glad that I trusted my gut on this one. - The Big MAlright, calm down everyone. Obviously you have all had some odd bad experiences, but here's the story.
Breathe E-Z Homes is an indoor air quality company that sells the FilterQueen's Majestic and Defender products. The Defender is a Class 2 Medical Device as recognized by the FDA!
There is no scam, the reason you get the survey is so the company can gather information (kinda like cookies on your computer).
The reason they ask for your address is that they wish to do a presentation and give you a free gift for allowing them to enter your home and do a demonstration of the Majestic and the Defender. There is no immediate purchase of anything, and the gift is free! They just ask for a couple hours of your time to get your opinion of a product, with the ability to purchase it at the end of the presentation. They do not advertise on the web, tv, radio, etc, so your so-called "telemarketing" is their only way to get business.
As with any company, they must adhere to the National No-Call list, and if you are on that list and you get the call, answer it and request to be taken off their list, no big deal.
This is a legitimate business, and it's the same as an info-mercial on TV, as those can last an hour as well.
Please stop assuming that the company is bad just because they phone you and ask some questions. They ask them to get to know you and your community to get a better understanding of who needs better indoor air quality. I myself have a system in my house, and I love it!
So please, give it a second thought before you assume.
Thanks! - BEH Associate replies to Angryjust going over the reviews of people that had a phone call, and other than that no association with the company. To my surprise I find add like this posted on the web page designed to slander the company with out even the courtesy of proper information. Never has any one been asked for a credit card number for delivery as we pay representatives salary to deliver gifts at no cost to the customer.
Please remove this add because it is designed strictly to slander the company and you have obviously
had no contact with the company other than a phone call.
Thank you very much - JC2436 replies to O_O"What I don't understand though is how can they be doing so well, and pay so well, and be around for apparently 80 years?"
Perhaps it is because they sell products that actually work. They would not be in business for so long if they were really a scam. If there were legitimate complaints about their product they would have to give refunds. After doing that, they would not be able to have good pay for their employees. View their products separately from the sales pitch. And no, I do not work for the company. - Charlyhttp://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2010/2010-572.htm
Decision issued in August 2010 re telemarketing calls made by Bretahe E-Z Homes Ltd Calgary Alberta- Call type: Telemarketer
- yyc22My main issue with these types of companies is that most of us can read the waring signs ahead of time and stop this before they are in your homes for 2hrs. If we do decide to go ahead with letting them show us their presentation and decide not to take it most of us are capable of staying the course when it comes to money and ensuring we do not part with $2500 for a vacuum, unless we truly want it and have made a clear decision. Those of us who have elderly parents often have to battle with these companies to get our parents money back. High pressure sales that bully and confuse the elderly is illegal in my opinion. Selling a vacuum to 80yr olds in a 700sq foot condo with hard wood is just plain unethical!! And for that reason alone they are low brow. People need to complain to the BBB.

Moron, maybe you deserve to lose your money. - RachelThis company is completely unethical and will do anything for a sale. They came to my property under false pretenses while I was out of town. They allowed a now fired member of my staff to purchase a vacuum cleaner and air purifier system in my name with no documents for $7000.00 and I only discovered it when it went to collections. They won't return your calls and they will do nothing to follow up complaints in any way. If they call you hang up immediately and run the other way!!
