I received the same call regarding my computer.  Unfortunately, I was having a bit of a problem with the computer and I was also in a humungeous project.  At first I thought he was from Windows until he wanted me to buy a product. I told him I cannot buy any product.  He keeps calling.  I live in Oregon and I'm told we have a Harrassment Law.  I'm about ready to use it.

    Your comments have helped.  Thanks.

Got a call from some Hindu Indian sounding dude from this number.  He had my name.  He said he was calling from New York, Jamaica.  WTH??  I was told my computer was sending "Cyber Support" reports that my computer has a virus. He kept saying he was calling from Cyber Support and that my software is bad. I knew it was scam.  When I demanded his name & name of company he hung up.  Bing search of this number says it's in Canada.

Caller said I was receiving 10,000 US Federal Grant money.  Asked for checking account info and I told him I wanted payment by check in the mail.  He then gave me a phone number to call and a confirmation number to give them to get my money.  Pretty sure it was a scam.  I tried calling the number he gave me (in Washington DC) and nobody answered.

You know something really unusual about these people calling?  They speak gibberish over the phone and try to scam people over and over and over again and again.  They are out of control and guess what - it is highly likely that you may be placed into custody for the violation of the laws of the United States of America.  You say you are calling from CANADA?  Really...if you call anyone else ever again...guess what you will likely be arrested.

Caller (Indian accent) from Toronto, OH told me my PC was at risk from hackers - would not elaborate when I queried him, and told him we have sufficient anti-viral software. Tried to scaremonger me. Then he told me to "f*** off" and "go to h****" when I politely declined interest in what he had to say. Charming! They should be reported for their abuse!!

Caller stated he was calling about my Windows computer and that I had downloaded a virus. He wanted me to turn on my PC so he could 'show me'. Caller had a thick accent asked me to press cntr r keys, type www.ammyy.com into the run window. This site will load remote software on your computer. They want to gather information and load software onto your computer for them to have remote access. Report these people to your local FBI office. This is far worse than scam.

A guy called us today and tried to tell me a story that he was from MICROSOFT; he needed to call me, because they (mircosoft) were receiving messages always when one "of your computers" is booting; "we always receive e-mails from you". He wanted me to turn on my computer and give him further details. As a specialist I started asking him some nice question from a lay customers position and he tried to pull my leg ...: Our "system would create problems with youtube and facebook". "He urgently needed to help us." So I asked him, how he had gotten our phone number (because it's blocked). He shot back at me: "From your registration!" That was a big mistake, because we're registered outside the U.S.. The caller definitifely tried to start a phishing, the caller /-company is a scammer. I told him clearly that his call was documented and that our lawyers will sue him and who ever is behind it, if he calls us again. He hung up ... .
