Calls on a daily basis but when I answer it, they always hang up on me.
When I call it back, there is always a pre-recording stating that they are Optima Communications International and they are a contact Center.....

This number calls us at least every two weeks. Just now, I answered and heard a ring - as if it were alerting a telemarketer. Hung-up immediately.

I get them too. It's a marketing thing claiming to be working with ScotiaBank, calling about accident insurance. Oddly enough, I can't get $250 worth of Overdraft Protection, yet I "pre-qualify" for $3,000 worth of insurance as they said the one time I answered (I hung up on them shortly after hearing what the call was about).

I recieved a call from this number just now. Scotiabank for me. It was about accident and health coverage.

I am registered on the "No call list" but continue to receive calls from 416-915-7933. Why is this happening?
I didn't answer the call today or yesterday or the day before or the day before that.

American Express:  balance payment insurance.
Sears:  Sears card calling.
HBC:  HBC credit card.
Fido: the phone company (Rogers).
Dunn & Bradstreet:  pay a one-time fee between $199 & $599 to register your company with them.
As well as other companies for sure.

Important note on exceptions to the do not call rules:

Nevertheless they probably tick you off big time.

You can call their business number: Tel: (416) 581-1236; press "0" for the operator and request to have your number removed from ALL their internal call lists.

Report every telemarketing/questionnaire/account add ons, call you get. It does not matter if you did business with them recently. You did not sign up to be harassed by calls.
This is the only way to 'Fix' the do not call list.  It is deeply flawed and needs to be re-written to stop all calls unless expressed in writing that you want them.

well if they have your # and you havent already told them to F*** off than they will keep phoning. i just never answered when the # came up because i know whome ever calls me and knows me or its important will leav eme a msg. They have called me a total of 7 times in one week, last one i didnt hear ring. I think thats just ridiculous....get the picture i am NOT answering when you call..so STOP!!!!

On other sites I found (doing a google search) the name Optima Communications and/or Optima Canada is mentioned as belonging to this number. I COULD NOT VERIFY IT. Got a call on our business line from this number claiming they are Dun and Bradstreet calling to update our profile. Obviously this is a scam. I just told them the person they were calling for was not available. It was very weird the way they asked for him. They used his full name with middle initial. The call came in as ETOBICOKE ON.

So if they don't stop calling me am I allowed to start calling the directors listed on Mark's post above every day and see if they want to buy my old sofa that I need to get rid of?  Maybe I'll call the president there every morning and see if he'd like to buy it and tell him sadly it takes 4-6 weeks to be put on my DNC list.

Calls come from this number about once a month for the person who (I assume) had this phone number previously.  Very annoying.  On the plus side, they don't continue to try to sell me whatever it is they are calling about.

another telemarketer came on with a speel of some sort turn on my fax machine it gave a fax noise they abruptly hung up. don't think I'll be bothered again!!!

got a call from this number saying they were from Dunn & Bradstreet and our company information was incomplete. I never give any information over the phone anyway
