How may I speak directly with a Globe and Mail Customer Care Representative?
Please contact us at 1-800-387-5400 or 416-585-5222 and press "0" immediately to speak with a live representative during operating hours.. - Annoyed| 1 replyMake your complaints to the company directly here. Even though they don't need to obey the DNCL because they sell newspaper subscriptions, dead dialling like this is a shocking practice.

This company, Com-Tel Marketing Inc., called me between 3 and 5 times every day; they would never leave a message. I discovered that they specialize in selling newspaper subscriptions. Since I recently canceled my Globe and Mail subscription, I assume they are trying to get me to return.
I sent them a blunt email, telling them to stop; they stopped.

- Fed up replies to AnnoyedI have been getting daily call from 416-916-4863.
I called the number back and they gave me the number 1-888-682-0070 to call.
I called it and then I selected 1, then entered my number to have it removed from their calling list.
A message said it would take seven days to have my number removed.
Time will tell. - Not_taking_it_anymore| 2 repliesYou may be able to block them and you may be able to get your number taken off their list, even if it is for that one particular client. They will call representing some other client later.
For these slime ball telemarketers, time is money. Therefore, it seems to me, the best way to hit back at them is to waste their time. Just hanging up on them is too quick and doesn't cost them anything.
1) If they ask "How are you today?", tell them. Start from when you got up that morning and fill them in on everything you did that day right up to the moment they intruded on your evening. Be detailed.
2) Agree with everything and then say, "Just a sec, I'll get my credit card." Put the phone down and go back to watching TV.
3) Talk.... slowwwwwwwwly.
4) Say "What?" a lot. Or "I don't understand, can you start over, please?"
Come up with your own imaginative scenarios. Keep them on the line as long as you can. Encourage your friends to do the same. If enough of us adopt this policy, it's going to have an effect on their bottom line.
Telemarketers are not going away. They used to annoy me, now they are there for my amusement.

- Ti-RedI'm getting daily and nightly infuriating calls from this Com-Tel telemarketing firm in Stratford, Ontario. It is working for newspapers such as the Globe and Mail. I have tried many times in the past to report it to our national DO-NOT-CALL people. But the latter are nowhere to be seen or contacted. It is impossible to reach them. I presume they are working for telemarketing firms too!!

- Sabrina replies to TgI disagree , I told the first time your company called that I was not interested period and now 21 calls later ?
- Stop TelemarketersSeriously, if you want to stop telemarketers when they call you offer them a decent paying job! There are allot of talented sales people who work in these call centres who were just not given an opportunity anywhere else. There are also people who want to learn but are not given the opportunity because management chooses the person with the most experience over somebody who needs to get a foot in the door. Call centre reps do not like calling you over and over again they are just doing their job, they have to eat too like anyone else.
