Oh WOW - I actually got about 2 weeks break on calls from this number - after I hollered at the guy rudely.  Told him they will NEVER get any money from me, I am on the do-not-call list and quit calling me.  But....They started again today.  No one there, just dead silence.

tried placing # on the donotcall.gov list. Unable to do so because the area code does not compute ..(?)
These calls are very annoying, why isn't anything we can do to stop them?

I answered it once.  It was a telemarketer...somehow patched through the number.  That method was used with a cold call from a softeware company to my office, using a local telephone number.  When I inquired how he was call from a local number, he said it was a computer that was doing the dialing.

I'm in Fairbanks, have been getting this call for months. We were woke up this morning at 7:45 by this damn #!  Twice already again this afternoon. This really sucks! Hope somebody can put a stop to this crap. They also hang up on us when we try to answer.

***HELPFUL INFO-PLEASE READ*** I called my local phone company & for the small fee of 3.75 per month I'm able to block this stupid 416 number & any other number I want blocked. They called me 2-3 x's per day, 7 days a week. YES!! 7 days per week!  Have you noticed that these calls all started towards the end of 2007? Could some larger funded foreign company have some hidden agenda for the U.S. & Alaskans are simply a practice run for what they really have in store? Perhaps this is the start of a huge teli-scam that they're bringing forward in 2008 & right now they are simply testing their new system & ability. There has to be a point for this system they are bringing on-line. Think about it.

Just got another call at noon on Sunday! This time a lady was on the other line but before she could say anything I told her to stop calling this number everyday, numerous times. I was quite pissed and all she said was ok.

I think that these folks calling are from various agencies, scams, ect. that somehow all pay to use this 416-947-0000 #. They may not realize that this number calls our homes as often as it does. Anyway, it sucks we should pay $3.75 a month to get rid of this annoyance. They just called again with nobody there as I write this!!!  This is getting F**king crazy!!!

This number is calling twice a day. I asked to be put on the Do-Not-Call list and they hung up on me. I would like to know who to report this to.

Many telemarketing companies use automatic dialers, which dial several
numbers at a time.  When the automatic dialer receives an answer at your
residence, it searches for a free client representative to speak to you.
When there are none available, you hear dead air.  Sometimes you will
hear an intermittent beep that tells you that you are on hold.  

Next time you receive this type of unsolicited call, wait until a
representative comes on the line and then say to the caller "REMOVE ME
FROM YOUR LISTS & DO NOT CALL AGAIN".  By law, those placing
telemarketing calls must comply with your request not to be contacted
again. Your name and number must be removed from their telephone lists
within 30 days.  A 'do not call' request remains in effect for 3 years.

80% of the telemarketing companies in Canada are members of the Canadian

Samt thing. Call repeatedly, so I called back and got the busy signal.
Obviously, someone wants to drive us all crzy — and is succeeding!

This phone number has hacked into my long distance plan with G3 telecom. They somehow have my pin number and it all started since Dec 2007. So far they have used up $30 from my account to call India and Dubai almost everyday in january. I finally caught it when my autorecharge happenned twice in two days without me using long distance. I am now in a battle with my provider to refund the money and do some kind of an investigation. Obviously I have discontinued my service.

We get up to several calls per day from this number.  So far, no-one is on the other line, it just has a dial tone.  We've been getting these calls for a couple of months now.  The phone company was not very helpful.  The only solution that they could offer me was to subscribe to block the caller.  This service would cost another $4.00 per month on my bill.  Not a lot of help in my book.  From the websites that I have looked at regarding this number, it looks like it is telemarketing from Canada, but I'm pretty skeptical.  Could be a scam.  I just would like for the calls to stop.  Another website suggested registering on the "do-not-call" list with the Canadian Marketing Association. This could take up to six weeks before they actually take your name off their list.  Any other suggestions out there??  These calls are driving us crazy!

At least twice a day I receive a call from this no.  I believe it originates from Canada.  It rings 3 times and hangs up.  I refuse to call the no., but did want to report this in case, with enough complaints, this can be investigated.  I am on the Fed. Do Not Call list, but don't know how this relates to out-of-country solicitors.  Anyway, HELP!!!

I am SO sick of these calls!  I actually get long, silent "on-hold" messages on my answering machine when I get home.  No one actually says anything.  I have donated anywhere that would be calling me.  It's obviously a scam.  And it's obvious that there is no organization that will do anything to help with this.

We've been getting calls from this number for more than six months.  They call a minimum of twice a day and often up to six or seven times.  They have sometimes asked for my husband, Bob, and have identified themselves as calling from a Policeman's fund of some sort.  Bob (and I) have repeatedly asked them to never call again.  The last time, they called two minutes later.  They are still calling.  We live in Anchorage, Alaska.

I started getting these calls at least twice a day after I updated on the Do-not-call registery about 2 weeks ago. I haven't answered any, but it's getting annoying. I am in Juneau Alaska.

We get a call at least once a day, usually at about the same time, and have for months.  It only rings about 4 times - if we do pick up, now one there.  My husband was told by our local phone company that we could have the number blocked, but we would be charged for the service!

I am getting this call quite often.  No one answers if i say hello.  If i do not answer and just keep quiet i can hear people speaking in the background in a room.

Wife and I are very annoyed.  I believe they are claiming to be peace officers.  They want money.  Scam?

well i have had this number calling all most every day  for weeks when i call it back after a few rings i get a msg. saying the mail box has not been set up. so now i have made a list of every telemarketer that calls me.
(i too live in Alaska so the time zone is way off.) i call them all and just start talking about any thing some times i act like i am a telemarketer calling them and when they hang up i call right back i block my number also just like they do most of the time.
