We get calls from this number several times a week, sometimes several times a day. I usually do not pick up the phone, but when I have, there's never been anyone there, and if I hold the line waiting for someone to come on, it eventually drops the call. Also, the phone often will only ring once or twice -- just enough for me to get up and find the phone -- and then stop. I don't understand how that benefits whoever is behind the calls.

We been getting calls from this number for about 2 to 3 months two to four times a week. I'm geeting trier of it. Just got one today. Call GCI no help. Tryed to get the name of who called, but like you No go.

Keep receiving calls from this #.  I dont answer.  IM IN ALASKA TOO.

I too am from Alaska...the Anchorage area.  For the past few months I get a call or two per day from these annoying people at 416-947-0000.  I don't recall them ever saying anything when I answer the phone, but it is annoying as hell!  I have tried to call the number back and it just continually rings and rings with no answer.  

What can we do to stop these calls???

Several times a day this number is on my caller ID. When I answered, there is nobody there.

Just got the call. Nobody there. Get it almost every day at around 9:00AM and 2PM. I'm in Alaska also.

Fear not Alaskans. I am from the Yukon and I just got the call. No one was there but seeing as I'm originally from Toronto I was curious as to was calling me and found this site. I will call bell canada, or Northwestel, to get it figured out.

Yep. I live in Juneau Alaska and I get this call at LEAST once a day! So friggin annoying!!!

I live in Soldotna, Alaska and I just received a call from this number and no one answered.  It's Father's Day for cryin' out loud.  There must be some way to stop them.

Got a call at work, person wanted to update my company's internet yellowpages listing from last year and charge me $429.99 for this year.  She couldn't give me any details, just wanted my money.  gave me customer service number of 1 866293-3404.  We've never done business with these people.  Obviously a scam!

Received a call when away from phone.  No message left.

Alaska - they said they are Vets raising money for a Vet Hospital.  Wanted an amount I would donate, so they could fill out the tax information for me when they send the invoice.  I gave them my PO Box, so we'll see what happens

Saw that this number called the other day when I wasn't home. So I answered today. No one was there. I even waited to see if someone would pick up , but no. I was going to tell them off! Are they calling another sate other than Alaska?

Fairbanks... Girlfriend picked up and said whoever it was was just laughing uncontrollably...

I got that call just now. I've been getting calls from 000-000-0000 so I put a message on the answering machine that if I can't see a number and identification I won't answer the phone. Since then 416-947-0000 has shown up and keeps calling.  I'm also on the do not call registry. I hope this is put to a stop very soon!

Me too! No one is ever on the line. I too live in Alaska. Pain in the neck!

You can't register with the CMA for do not call unless you call them. Their web form disallows US zip codes and won't let you put a US state, you have to choose a province.

I am in Alaska, too. I wonder if we need to ALL write to the Attorney General's office?

Who deals with scams and fraud over the phone that go across international boundaries? The telemarketers/scammers have posed as Alaska State Troopers, for one.

Interesting..I only recieve calls from the dreaded number on Sundays,after church.

I'll call them back and ask if God was calling me..seeing how things were down on Earth..you know..just to f_ck with them..
