Yeah I owe a company, but I do not owe them. I will not pay any of them. Instead I buy other things, like food and other provisions. I will wait my 3 more years and all of this will be stricken from my credit and I will probably do it again. When will they learn money changers will always lose.

I've gotten calls from this number, both on my home phone AND on my cellphone. They keep calling for a Raphael Mercado. I have no idea who this person is, and neither does any one else in the family. We now have a running joke that every call is for Mr. Mercado. I've even spoken with the leasing office of our apts.  and they have assured me that no one by the name of Raphael Mercado has leased with them in the past 10 years! Everytime they call, I tell them that I do not know this person, they do not live here, and they haven't for the past ten years. I'm sorry, but I cannot help you. They ask me to find Mr. Mercado and have him call them. I tell them, I'm sorry, but I do not know him, and would therefore be completely unable to help you. I wish I could, because as I'm getting at least 6 calls per day on my cellphone, I'd like for this to be resolved as well.
This last time they called, I answered because I, again, wanted to inform them that this person does not live here. The man on the phone was so incredibly rude. I work in customer service as well, and I understand that it's annoying to have people be rude to you on the phone, and you are tempted to be rude back, but not when someone is being nice. I only said, "I'm sorry, but Mr. Mercado does not live here. We have asked before that this number be taken off the list. I wish I could help you, but I don't know this person, and never have known this person. Please take us off the list, we can't be of any assistance." Well, that must have set him off because he RAILED me, said I was probably Raphael Mercado using a girl voice and hiding like a little worm. That I should pay my debts and stop being a burden on society or go back to the flea ridden third world country I floated on a raft from. I immediately started laughing so hard, and the guy is like "What's so funny", and I'm like....."Dude....I'm a 24 year old girl from North Dakota...that's as American as it gets. I'm trying to be nice to you, why are you screaming? It's not your debt, remember? I know you have a stressful job, and I'm sorry about that, but my goodness, if we all lost our cool like that, we'd be a society of complete anarchist monsters! Take a chill pill. my friend." He apologized, and oddly enough we stayed on the phone for 20 minutes talking about how stressful his life was and how he hated his job.
Just goes to show that maybe sometimes people just need an ear. We haven't received a call from them again.

They are calling my neighbors. Bugging my neighbors causing them to be upset with me. I think it is so wrong to let my neighbors know my business. What Can I do?

My boyfriend has been receiving calls every day for three months on his cell phone, which is a recycled number and that has minutes. They call up to three times a day! He finally quit answering their phone calls after telling them multiple times they had the wrong number. I finally answered a call tonight and explained to the lady that we have already asked to be removed. In a very rude tone she said, "So long story short, I have the wrong number?" When I tried to explain that I didnt appreciate the disrespect in her tone, she cut me off to argue. Im sick and tired of this bullcrap!

They have called me 4 times today and a total of 7 times this week. They never leave a message and I never answer the call. I have blocked their number from my phone.

Interesting new tactic: I received a call today asking if I knew so-and-so in a nearby apartment.
The caller was polite enough, and left her name and this number with an extension. Says she hadn't been able to reach her.
When she asked for the name of our apartment complex, I immediately thought, "bill collector."

Sure enough, I checked on this website, and that's what people are reporting!
I'll give her a message along with a heads-up and a reference to this website.

    @Pay up America

Bite me jerkface...... I will continue not to pay my bills like the rest of the world.... How about the money Germany owes America from WWII reconstruction, or the British for all the help in WWI and WWII, so screw you, the way of the world is to not pay. As for these [***] who call, say it's not you, and hang up.

They can not take your bank account, the most they can do after a court judgement is garnish 15% of your wages. Also, if it student loans or an IRS debt they can also take your income tax return. But for a medical bill, the most they can do is garnish your wages, and if you truly make $1500 after taxes, that amounts to, $225 a paycheck, and that is only if they take the full 15%, most don't.

    Couldn't understand
I got a call this morning from this number about 730. They left me a voicemail, it was a indian lady. She didn't even state who she was or why she was calling. To top it off, she didn't even disconnect under phone call, so I had about a 3 minute message from her just talking to other people. It was very frustrating for me.

I didn't answer as I didn't recognize the number.  Why answer if they don't have the courtesy to give their name?  Don't know why they would call me.

by law they cannot leave a message other than their phone number because they cannot reveal to anyone but yourself that they are trying to collect a debt...and when u get a recording, there is no way to be sure who the phone belongs too.  so, they are complying with regulations. Until you pick up and tell them you are not who they are looking for, they will continue to leave messages. You can just say no then ask them to remove your phone number from that account.

I received a call asking for some random person I'd never heard of before. I didn't pick up and they left a msg Wednesday. I called right back and found out it is Merchant Credit Association in Bellevue, WA.

I searched them and they handle medical bill collection.

I asked them to not call back since I have no clue who the person they were asking for was, but they called again today and didn't leave a VM. Maybe its time to write a Cease and Desist letter.

I receive a call from them every morning. Now as I do have debt it is not with then and I too have arrangements. Im currently working on consolidating to lower debt. I have over half of it taken care of as of last month. About 3 weeks ago I created an account with centurylink for home phone service and internet. Not even a day after my home phone was set up I began getting 6 am calls for a woman named Rhonda. They asked for my name when I told them to take this number off the list. I was woken up every morning for 2 weeks by them. Every morning I again told them I just recieved this phone number and there is no Rhonda here. Again, they continued to call. I had no problem giving them my name as the debt is not mine. When I gave them my name they said they couldn't find any debt on me and they were sorry for calling. The problem I had is that I had to go through that every morning even after I gave them my name. Most phone companies recycle phone numbers. It makes it very hard for the person who receives it. I also had to deal with about 5 other companies that were calling this woman named Rhonda.

they called my cell phone but didn't leave a message.
they called my work #, so I answered it.  they said that I owe $800 on a medical bill from 2012.  it is now 2014...there is no way i would remember that i had a medical bill for that much.  neither i will pay for it because it has been too long of a wait until they had to contact me.

yup, collections, looking for somebody who doesn't live here, called twice between noon and 1pm. next time i will give them that deadbeats cell number with my blessings. i also think they may be getting numbers through online PC to text programs, as these only started up a couple days ago when i texted somebody - not the deadbeat - via my PC. There is another number 855-323-4688 that has popped up as well. No messages left on either numbers calls.

Actually I used to be a bill collector. First of all, they don't give you their real name. Secondly, no one had to give them your phone number. if they have the debtors address they reverse it and get a phone number, and sometimes it's the phone number of the new tenant or owner of the home. They will also look up the address and phone numbers of neighbors to that address and try to find out information from them.

    Stop Debt Collector Calls
Left no message. Seattle, east to  Everett WA.

If they call, pick up the phone. If it is a recording, call them. Inform them you wish your number removed from their contact list and let them know your preference is X (postal mail notices).

Legally, they must stop calling you.
