Claims to be Lloyds bank but gets details wrong in a manner which is unlikely if it really is Lloyds.

I've had exactly the same thing, there were so many errors in that text

they texted me 1 minute after i made a transfer, to confirm transaction. I had to replay "yes or no".Obviously i didnt replay, they are trying to steal money from our accounts! Do not replay or press any keys on your phone/mobile. I have done that mistake a year ago and they have stolen some money from my account. It wont happen again!

Yip just had same thing but with this no +44 7860 035283 ... It said "Lloyds Bank has noticed your Debit card ending **75 was recently used on 02-11-2014 19:55:33, at CEA GOI 715 for £192.28. Please confirm if this transaction was made by you by replying Yes or No"

Naturally I ignored it.

Just though I'd give you the heads up 😉 do NOT fall for it!

Just had a text from this number claiming to be lloyds, same as everyone else "please confimr yes or no by replying" yadda yadda yadda. Lloyds bank would NEVER contact customers in this manner.

Had a text from +447860035283 saying "Halifax has noticed your debit card was recently used on 20-11-2014 13:57:06, at Vodafone Moto 1055114 for £20.00.  Please confirm if this transaction was made by you by replying Yes or No.  

Ignored it, then typed the number into Google and this page came up...

Got a text from this number after placing an order on an electronics site. Read what was said here and decided to call them through the usual contact numbers. Turns out it was Lloyds trying to get a hold of me. The rep said that it appears as a normal phone number because there system sends it to a bunch of virtual phone numbers to then be text forward. Didn't take the chance anyway and the guy unblocked the account for me on the phone.

The rep also told me if I had replied to the text I would have received a further text confirming the first and that would be it. So i guess if anything different were to happen you'd know something was off

I got an sms from them saying about some transaction that I had just made. But the price was wrong? I did make an order just than, but it failed to go through so I don't know where or how that text managed to get through to me. It said to reply with a yes or no to confirm the transaction and I replied with no and I got a message instantly stating that a call would come through. When it did it was an automated message saying that it's halifax fraud department and to push any button to continue. I just hanged up and checked my account and it doesn't state of any money leaving my account? Weird in a way..

Heya mate I've just done the same thing i stupidly replied with no but I haven't recieved a call yet, do you know if any money did eventually come out your account? do I have anything to worry about?

I just had the same text. Called Halifax and have had 3 unauthorised payments out of my account. So I would say worth checking with bank.

I phoned my local halifax branch and they confirmed that the text was sent from the head office so I have nothing to worry about. They were just checking if the transaction was me because I got my student loans through yesterday and spent just under £2k of them almost instantly paha.

Just checked mine as had a similar message. Someone using my card to buy something from Toronto on Vemba.com. Never heard of it. Card cancelled and new one being sent. It was Halifax fraud office. I was suspicious so didn't reply or contact the number on the text though.

Just received this

"Halifax has noticed your Debit card ending 7314 was recently used on 17-01-2015 10:44:12, at O2 UK PAY & GO 1001891 for £10. Please confirm if this transaction was made by you by replying Yes or No."

No money gone from my account, curious how they got my last 4 digits though

Just spoke to halifax, it is their fraud squad, its a legit thing.  They just put a block on a load of money leaving my account and wanted to check also with me what was going on.  So moral of the story is, even though it is wise to distrust these numbers, call the BANK you are with/referenced in the message to confirm what it going on.  Make sure you use a number to call them through official channels.

I got a message just now from Halifax stating that my card is being used for a £390 purchase, to a company I've never heard of, with card details. Funny thing is I'm not with Halifax and never have been, so I'm failing to see how this number is so genuine if they can send me card details for a transaction when I do not bank with either banks.
They're not my card details either.

This was a genuine text from Bank of Scotland about a fraudulent transaction. Called their helpdesk as not sure if it was for real or not but unfortunately it was. They advised that if I had replied to NO to the text they would have called to confirm details and act on it.

I recieved a text message this morning 26/01/15 saying
Bank Of Scotland has noticed your Debit card ending **** was recently used on 26-01-2015 01:08:47, at VODAFONE MOTO     1055114 for £20. Please confirm if this transaction was made by you by replying Yes or No. I never replied back,, then recieved a voicemail more or less same thing from a computer voice with my full name asking me to call 08453512294, to confirm my details.   I called both numbers to be told no number available check with operator. I then went to my bank to find out if they'd contacted me, they didn't. The mistake the text made was I'm not with Vodafone and secondly I never gave my bank my new number.

After reading the comments on here I phoned my bank on their usual number just to be on the safe side, they informed me that my card has been cloned. Definitely worth checking with your bank if you're concerned as someone had tried to charge my card for £129.
