I've just received a message from it saying it was from Lloyds Bank asking me to confirm transaction.

Call your bank & make them aware.

Made an order by my debit card to newitts.com for a Reebok stepper, went through the checkout process but my card was refused.   2 minutes later I got a text from 447860035283 saying it was my bank and asking if I had made the order to NEWITTSCOM. I had to text back 'YES' or 'NO' but I was suspicious because nothing like this has ever happened before. What is confusing me also is I never left my mobi number when I made the order on newitts.com site I gave my landline number, so I was thinking how did they get my mobi number? It must be genuinely from my bank. I am still suspicious though and am not going to reply to the text. I think I will phone my bank and or newitts.com

Just had a message saying..Halifax has noticed your Debit card ending 2036 was recently used on 18-06-2016 17:21:35, at CALL CARD               81968553 for £10. Please confirm if this transaction was made by you by replying Yes or No.... looks like a scam.

I just got exact same thing... 'lloyds bank has noticed your credit card ending **** was recently used' bah blah blah.. reply res or no if this transaction was made by you!

Don't fall for it! Delete!!

Today I have received a message saying my card ending in **** has been used please confirm if this transaction was made by replying Yes or NO.I did not reply and am now reporting it.

So after several conflicting messages I phoned my bank instead of replying to this message. I got told there was nothing immediately suspicious but there was something flagged so got put through to the fraud department. After a 45 minute wait I hung up and phoned back the main number only to get a different guy that told me there was nothing. So apartment for the 6 quid added to my phone bill, this is bs. Its probably worth getting it double checked though, just don't wait excessively long!

Actualy it's genuine message. In my case it was lloyds and i called customer service and been told there was suspicious transaction and they redacted me to fraud department where i had to answer loads of security questions. Turn out it was genuine transaction for zippcar membership. Didn't ask why message comes from normal mobile number but in my case it was genuine. But my advice is, if you have any doubts call your bank customer service, they will help you. Hope it was helpful.

i got this text today from Bank of Scotland saying Bank Of Scotland has noticed your Debit card ending **** was recently used on (date) for £30 i read the comments on this page and i was not confident if this number was legit or a scam as the comments were mixed so i went on to twitter and contacted the official Bank of Scotland page and asked them if this number was legit they got back to me fast and told me it was and told me  Please respond accordingly as i did it was from fraud service so i advise you to contact your bank or do what i done as they are the only people you should trust when it comes to your bank.

they £30 charge was from a automatic rebilling that i had took a trial membership out from that i had canceled but still got rebilled i said yes as it was a legit charge and not fraud so i will now contact the site for a refund.

First it was suspicious but it turned out that this really was my bank fraud team so it was worth checking with bank otherwise the would cancelled my transacions.

It's a fraud service checking whether you made a payment - if you didn't make one, it's telling you fraud has been committed, and ignoring the text probably means that fraud is just going to continue.

Some of you don't seem to understand how fraud works. People can't steal your details with a 'yes' or 'no' answer (hahaha!) What are they going to steal; your number? Which they clearly already have?

Use some critical thinking here!

Got a text from this number right after ordering a new phone from BT stating the amount that I'd just paid for the phone. Called my bank (Halifax) to confirm and they said that it was a text from them so if the payment was made by me to reply 'Yes' and that's all there is to it

A text supposedly from Lloyds Bank asking me to verify a transaction I had just made.  I did not respond to their request to answer yes/no

It was Halifax. My card had been cloned and there was a fraud transaction in Nepal -  on replying 'no' the transaction was blocked and so was my account. I thought it was a scam at first and so went into branch, never be too careful!

Received txt message in the name of Lloyds bank.
Called the bank and they confirmed that it was a legit txt from their fraud team.

I had a text from this number telling me it's bank of Scotland and there was a suspicious transaction and asking if I made the transaction and I wasn't to reply with yes or no I thought it was a bit dodgy so I went not into my bank of Scotland and it was legit. It's the fraud team so I don't know why ppl are saying this number is a hoax coz it legit. They said it was somewhere in china that tried to take the money out my account Andy only thing I can think of is the wish app I use to buy stuff coz that come and from China

Was in China at the time, when I had to use my Halifax plastic, then got a similar text asking same, Yes or No about using my card. I, replied yes, like all honest people.

Then replied back. "Thanks for confirming the transaction was made by you, If it was "declined" you'll have to wait 10 minutes before trying again. Thanks for using our Fraud service. Wow, what worm's.

DO NOT RESPOND I did once & had to have all my cards cancelled as they hacked my accounts. Never again. Claimed to be bank of Scotland
