I just receive the massage this morning claiming as Lloyds bank. Now I'm waiting for Lloyds fraud team to answer. So far in twitter it was confirmed as genuine number. The point is my transaction is up to 500 pound spending in UK store and US websites.

got txt message after making online purchase,  txt message asking was it me or not, rang Halifax to enquire,  genuine txt from Halifax, lady explained txt because of high value purchase.

Text message claiming to be Lloyds bank about a payment I made on Amazon. Wanted me to  reply yes or no if it was me!

As far as I'm aware, when I do get a real text from Lloyds it shows up on my phone has Lloyds bank in the sender - hope more people are aware of this!

I had this from my Halifax bank. It is a genuine bank number, but just a fraud protection measure that confirms whether the amount is able to be moved from your account. At the time I couldnt place an expensive online order, and then I had the YEs/ No text come through. It was only until I confirmed that I was able to make the online purchase.

I assume it may be a 3rd party anti-fraud service that many banks use? Looking at the variety of responses in the comments.

Text from LLoyds bank from this number was 100% legit. Must be a common fraud prevention agency number used by Lloyds and Halifax. It seems that somone had tried to use my debit card to the tune of 347 pounds. Payment was declined by the bank who then sent me the text. I did not reply to the text until I had contacted them on the number on the back of my card. Card now cancelled and a new one on the way.

I just had this text. I called lloyds and it is lloyds bank. They confirmed its fine to reply.

Just got a text claiming to be Bank of Scotland asking me to confirm if I spent £30 at O2 UK by means of answering "yes" or "no".
Always suspicious with these things so phoned the bank's customer service. Turns out it was legit, there had been a fraudulent attempt at spending my dosh. Card cancelled and new one sent.

Got this msg as well, it was me making the payment from UK, buying from Us Blizzard store (I'm playing WoW on American servers so I was buying from american server). Called Lloyds to make sure, really nice lady told me that it was a msg from them and nothing else went out of my acc as she checked everything.

I got the same after trying to make a purchase.

"Lloyds Bank has noticed your Debit Card ending *** was recently used etc etc. Please confirm if this transaction was made by you by replying Yes or No."

I called Lloyds Bank on their direct line and the message was indeed sent by them. I questioned why the text was sent from a mobile number and was told because it was an automated message it can't be sent from their main landline. I confirmed it was me that had just tried to make the purchase, and was told they would lift the block and for me to wait 10 mins before trying to repurchase. This is I did without any issue.

Legitimate number from my bank as someone tried to scam me out of £1100 but the bank were suspicious... thankfully I had the sense to call them and get my card stopped and they didn't take any money

Lol, this is a genuine message for Lloyds Banking Group (Lloyds/Halifax/BOS). The payment has already been attempted (fraud or not) the bank wants to know if it was you to prevent you loosing more money. If you reply "no" they will block your card and phone you to resolve. If you reply "yes" then they will ask you to make your payment again (it will NOT go through twice). If you do nothing it is likely the fraudster will continue to use your card. You can't commit fraud by texting the word "yes" to someone or everyone and their gran would be texting "yes" to everyone haha.

Had same text message about suspicious activity on my bank account with YES or NO options . Checked my bank statement and found that a few , more than £200 , transactions are pending . Ranged to Lloyds and cancelled all unknown transactions . It saved my money.
So I can confirm that it's related to Lloyds bank and helps to prevent fraud

I just bought something from Steam and got a call from this number saying it was from Halifax, blatant scam. Report it!

Yep, got the same message from Lloyds, called using the number on the back of my card without replying to the message and they have confirmed it is them. I'd made some unusually large purchases in the preceding 24 hours which I guess flagged the account on their system as possible fraudulent activity.

I'm assuming the reason they use a normal mobile number instead of a Lloyds No Reply sender line like usual is that they actually want you to respond! Anyway, best bet is to call the bank if in doubt.

If worried call your bank, the number on your card. I did the same then read this and called and they confirmed it was indeed from my bank. The relief was instant!

Received a text from this number, stating from Lloyds Bank with the Yes/No option to confirm a transaction. It's authentic; my card had been cloned - the first dodgy transaction had been allowed to go through - Lloyds stopped the second one and contacted me. Card cancelled and a new one on the way!

Got a text message with details of something i had just brought, stating that it was from the bank , phoned the bank , message was from them.

The grammatical errors just shock me if it is actually them 🙄

I just got the same message, called my bank and they said someone was trying to withdraw money in New Delhi with my card... :(
