Had message too its a legit halifax fraud line number,i phoned the bank because was not sure about replying yes or no, and it was confirmed that someone was using my card details on bet 365 dot com.
so i would advise everyone to just phone the bank and speak to a real person.

Got a text message from Lloyds asking me to text back yes or no if I had made a transaction. The card ending was right, the address was somewhere in New York when I was in London.

Seemed fishy so I dug up Lloyds bank contact info off their own website. Turned out to be legit, someones cloned my card. Rather than an annoyance, I think the service has been fantastic - had my card cancelled, re-ordered, and the money refunded within a few minutes.

Got a text massage from the same number after my online payment was declined. So I called halifax to confirm that the massage was from them. The massage was from the halifax fraud department. Had to answer security questions to unblock my account.

Message from lloyds bank, I texted back yes after receiving the message then called the bank to check using two different numbers. They confirmed that it was them trying to contact me but they appreciated it was better to be safe than sorry. I also went to an ATM a few hours later to check balance and it was the same lloyds were very understanding and helpful

Message to all who receive the message from this number. I have checked with Lloyds (using number from their website). It is a mobile number that Lloyds use but they sent me the message in error as there was an error with the digits in the phone they intended to send it to - they sent it to me instead. Don't reply to the text. Contact your bank directly - worth double checking. Last 4 digits of the card were wrong and the place is one I have never heard of.

Just ignore the crackpot tin foil hat wearing brigade. I know this is exactly how this bank do it, with exactly the number you gave to them, without asking you to reveal information which would be useful to fraudsters.
I routinely used my debit card to top up my online postage but a bad mouse click caused a card payment to abort at the bank's card verification prompt. Within seconds I got a call with an automated voice, asking if it was me who just used the card, with words matching the texts people report right here along with the last four digits of the card.

I got a similar text from the number, quoting my bank (Halifax) and the last 4 digits of my card number . I checked my account online, no money was out yet,  then reading one of the comments here prompted me to check the pending transactions on my account online only to see that £28.32 spent in US was waiting to clear out of my account.

I replied No to the text and immediately got another text with a Halifax number to call. I called the number and it was true another  £100+ transaction has been made.

the second transaction was rejected, bank cancelled my card and promised to refund the first transaction amount.
I would say to be on the safe side call your bank and find out .

This is legitimate number from anti fraud departament. I had excacly the same situation - my card was duplicated and someone paid using clone in Indianapolise( while I was in my bed in London... ). I replied "no" and received another message. Transaction was cancelled. Then I checked my Lloyds accound and found transaction "pending" on a different amount - then I immediately called Lloyds(number from website) to report fraud. Transaction on my statment on the Lloyds website was made few minutes before I received this message( and went through ). I received message, when someone try to pay for simmilar amount again and after replying "No" transaction was cancelled.
Make long story short - my card is blocked and I will receive a new one, first transaction was reported as a fraud and I will get my money back. Second transaction was cancelled thanks to the safety procedures( message I received ).
I use my card only to take my money from ATM so my card was definetelly scaned yesterdey in Soho( Carnaby Street )...

Be very carefull when using ATM and have a look for a suspicious devices in it...

i had the same  message. ended up texting back to the number NO, and within seconds they text me and phoned me. It was the bank and they noted a transaction from a company in china who mirrors legit sites, once you make a payment to them  they have your card details. fortunately the banks are aware of this fraud and when a certain company/web transaction is presented  they reject it and send out the text we have all been receiving. my card has been cancelled and a new one will be issued. At least the banks are on the ball.
