- Net222100% genuine. I had the text at 5:13am today, scared the life out of me! checked this forum and decided to just ring my bank direct. Yes someone was trying to use my card!! Whether you reply to the text or not the bank will still block your card. The text may look dodgy but it still grabs your attention so if in doubt just ring the bank.
- Caller: Lloyds
- HannahI just got a text from Halifax - I didn't reply and just phone the bank directly! They confirmed it was genuine and had blocked 2 unauthorized payments from my account.
- It's obviously fraud!Apparently my card was used abroad, I had no pending transactions online. Replied no. Got a call and then was placed on hold.
The caller then asked if I'd received a call or text. I said yes. He then asked for my sort code and account number. I said "No! No you can't!".
No bank will ever call you directly and ask for these details for security reasons. I'll eat my words tomorrow if my bank says otherwise.- Caller: Unclear
