It's genuine Lloyd's contacted me for an attempt transaction I didn't reply to the text just in case so I called the bank myself and they confirmed its true

I got the same text claiming someone had made a transaction in John Lewis for £295 on my debit card ending in then gave four numbers. When I checked my debit card the four numbers did not match mine. This is not Lloyds bank

This "genuine & fraud" sequence could go on in the same way forever.

The Lloyds group contact you about suspicious transactions. My own bank confirmed my identity and checked the transaction in a way that NO info supplied would benefit fraudsters.

But the fraudsters can, and do, spoof GENUINE bank numbers in attempts to catch people out. Anyone can hold a phone line open, fake a dialing tone and con dimwits and financial incompetents.

A bit of common sense is required. Check your bank website. Learn the drill.

Text me saying 'Lloyds Bank has noticed your Debit card ending 6938 was recently used on 22-12-2015 15:30:37, at CALENDAR CLUB LTD       87010243 for £34.96. Please confirm if this transaction was made by you by replying Yes or No.'
I think its genuine as i did go to calendar club about 20 mins before spent £19.98 so it would look a bit dodgy. I guess theyre checking to make sure

I had a text from this number saying my card had been used and was it me. I ignored it at first but then also received a phone call in my mobile and another phone call on my landline where they left an answerphone message.
Before phoning I checked my internet banking which showed transactions had been made - and not by me!
I rang them back and it turns out someone had used my card!! They managed to do two transactions totalling £104, however two more transactions had failed (thank god), card has now been cancelled and will be getting my money back.
Definitely genuine.

They sent me a text message about using my card for on line shopping. I replied NO

I received a text from this number stating it was Halifax and that they wanted me to confirm whether a transaction was genuine. I called Halifax (I didn't want to reply to the text as I wasn't convinced it wasn't a con) and they confirmed it was a legitimate text. It turns out a number of fraudulent payments had been attempted on my card!

If you receive a text from this number, make sure you follow it up by calling your bank!

Deffo not scam.got txt from halifax asking if i had made a payment to Neteller.neva heard of them.so checked my bank online and had pending payments. One to Neteller and several others to Blizzard gaming.so i txtd the number saying no and halfax rung me on a 0845 number.someone had used my card details via wifi hotspots to make the payments.halifax canceld card and sending me new one and stopped the payments going through.do not ignore this txt i nearly did and glad i checked my bank.hope my info helps

Looks like a shill for the fraud here - an illiterate one to boot.

It is actually genuine, but I would just ring your bank to sort it out rather than replying to the text! I nearly ignored it but definitely Lucky I didn't! Someone has been nicking money from me!

text claiming to be from TSB bank giving details of on online payment I had NOT made.

This is a fraud company which most banks use to notify customers bout large money transactions you may or may not have made.  I like most of you was extremely worried about answering so i called my Halifax bank directly and they confirmed they use the above number to notify customers of possible cloning of cards.  It does not harm responding to the message however I didn't and rang my bank straight away who then put me through to the fraud squad who then took all the details of the fraud amount and then cancelled my Halifax card straight away.  Thank you HALIFAX i would have been £350 lighter if i hadn't been notified even if it looked like a scam message.

Thought this was a scam at first but checked my account and there were fraudulant transactions.  It was Bank of Scotland fraud team. If unsure dont reply but check your accounts. If i ignored the second call my bank would continue to have been raided. Got my money back same day...so glad i did not ignore it

This is a legitimate number used by Halifax to inform you of fraudulent transactions on your credit card. They sent me a text with the last 4 digits of my credit card and asked me to text back yes or no if I recognised the transaction. They then immediately called me back and it turned out someone had used my card details yesterday and today to purchase items online. Those transactions have now been cancelled, the fraud dept and police informed and my card cancelled and replaced. I then phoned Halifax on their customer services number to confirm the legitimacy of the call and all was correct.

Text from apparently Lloyds to confirm a pizza online order quoting last 4 digits of my card number. Definitely bogus!

Ignore my post! I've called Lloyds and it is a genuine text. Some Fraudster has been dining out on pizza and booking trains on my card...Grrrrr😡
