The person left a message saying my daughters qualified for free schooling.  But they didn't leave a number I could call them back at.  I've never had that happen with any school program.  I tied calling back on the number that was on my caller ID but it said it was a disconnected number.

This is a randomly generated phone number from a State of Oregone office.

Three time this number called me, and it only beep three time then hung up.

(503) 235-1259 is the Oregon Real Estate Agency.  They called us today for a pre-arranged teleconference and this is the number our phone recorded as the incoming number.

8:35 Am. It's the Oregon Department of Revenue. I owe them a few hundred to them on our 2011 taxes. They will have to wait until the fall to get it though as were both currently unemployed.

Called my cell 9:00 PM on a Friday night, no message.  Phone number was disconnected when I called back.

I got a call from this # on my cell phone and no message.  I called back and it is a disconnected #.  I am tired of people calling and using my airtime..especially the ones who do leave messages and they are sales scams.

It appears to be a proxy for government phone calls that opt into masking their numbers. They also did not leave a message on my phone. Review the rest of this thread, it goes back over 5 years.

This is a major red flag and if you get a call from this number you should try to figure out who is looking for you before answering. Phuck em.

I just received a call from this number.  The man asked if I was the director and then asked for my last name.  He then hung up on me.  I have no business with the state.  My taxes are paid up and I don't use welfare.  If the state had called they would already have my info, would have identified themselves and what they needed.  After reading all the previous posts I am concerned about a few things that have been pointed out such as tracking locations, identity theft, and stalking.

I just got a call from same number and like an idot because they tried x3 to contact me I got no answer exceot this number has been disconnected. What is up with this???? I must be on a hit list.

Same thing. Got a call and missed it, and within a few minutes, I called it back and it has been disconnected.

got a call from this number and actually have talked to the lady 6 times. her name is shannon gage from the department of justice in oregon. tried calling back with a 1 and without says number is disconnected...

got two missed calls at 7:48 am and 7:49 am... didnt leave a message...

Im pretty sure whats going on here is it IS the outgoing number for oregon state offices AND someone realized that. Someone who had been buying up bad and expired/invalid debt for super cheap, like a $5000 supposedly owed ten year old debt for $5, and then trying to get idiots to pay him.. he knows how to make his outgoing number look like ANY NUMBER!! I CAN DO IT TOO!! Him and a few small employees, maybe just him and his girlfriend, are using this number as their outgoing so you cannot trace them calling you.. I have talked to the guy three times trying to get a hold of someone who had my number ten years ago. he calls once every two weeks. at very odd hours, like before 8 am or after 10pm? if its odd hours its a scammer, if its regular business hours and days it can be REAL GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES ----OR--- it can be a scammer.. its both people.. this dude makes me so mad when he calls asking for the same person at eight when i just got to bed at six, i work graveyard, im going to physically go to his location and start banging on the door at 8am and see how he likes it. But it can actually be real govt reps. If you dont believe them you can always ask them to call you back from the number they normally contact you through.. IF they are real govt workers they wont get mad and hang up, they will understand your iffy on who they really are and will be able to prove it somehow..

This is just an outgoing number for the State of Oregon. Someone can be calling you from the state for a million reasons - taxes, child welfare, health surveys, a friend who works there calls you on a break, etc. It is a disconnected line for incoming calls primarily to protect the confidentiality of the caller (imagine if the call went to a specific department/person and someone besides the intended contact could get information solely based on that). It's not a scam and it doesn't mean you are in trouble. All it means is that someone called you from a State of Oregon building.

I received three calls from this number.  Twice they hung up without leaving a message.  The third time they left a message for an ex of mine, indicating it was the Oregon Department of Revenue and the call back number was 877.222.2346.
