They called me three times today.  I looked up this website, saw that it may be wells fargo.  I do have an account, so I opened my account on web, called them back.  The first thing the operator asked me was "Can I have the account number or the social security number of the account you're calling about"

    YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I told him, "Absolutely not" he then asked for my phone number, which I gave him, and he said he was looking for someone named Hoang Wang.  I told him that is not me, he said he'd remove me from his list.

Who in their right minds asks for the account or social right from the get-go like that?? Oh, and it says on the recording it is Wells Fargo's Overdraft Services or something like that... my account was not overdrafted... maybe HOANG WANG'S was... but, wow.. very very suspicious.

I've been ignoring these calls then read this thread.  I called the number back and got a shoddy recording about how this call may be monitored, blah blah...  a male voice picked up asking for my SSN or account number which I was calling about.  I clearly stated, "No, and tell me why this number calls my phone."  He immediately hung up on me.  Suspicious indeed.  We'll see if they call again...

I started receiving phone calls last week on my cell phone but they never leave a message. Next they CALLED my work. There was some sort of mistake with my account and I am already working with a bank rep. at an actual branch. The woman who called my work ( Melissa) was rude, demanding, and wanted to know when I was going to deposit the $105.00 I supposedly owed. I told her I was already working with a bank rep and that I was at work and I could return her call at a later time. Then she got very nasty and harassing and insisted I tell her when I was going to make the deposit and nastily asked me why I didn’t know what day I get paid. I told her again, I was already working with a rep that there was a mistake on my account and if she needed to speak with me she could call later or I could take her number and I would call her back that this was an inappropriate time for her to call. She retorted and said Fine, I’ll just put a note in your file, And hung up on me.

I immediately emailed my representative and he apologized but he was out of town and gave me the direct line to a real bank rep….The # he gave me was NOT a 503 #.

On my break, I called the # back and asked politely to speak to a manager around 11:45am ( I live in Cali) the girl who answered said no mangers were in. I asked her where they were located she said Ohio ( interesting 503 is an Oregon area code), I asked her how many hours ahead they were, she said 3. So I said it’s nearly 2pm. She corrects me and says Oh no it’s 12:48pm. Already I sensed something was fishy since she told me she was in a different state then the area code she was calling from. I explained to her that a girl by the name of Melissa had called me and harassed me at work and I didn’t want to receive anymore phone calls from her. The girl kept asking me for my social security # which I refused to give.

I’m not saying this is a fraudulent # but when I speak further with my bank representative I’m going to ask if this # is a valid #.

They called me five times a day. However, I called then to stop, which they did. What pissed me off more than the calls, was the message you hear if you get through to them. "For an english speaking representative, please press 1". I thought this was the USA and our language was english. Its ok to say presss 2 for spanish, but ....

hahaha...Mr. Abbott, yes this is the USA, however, this country does not have an official language...so to aid the ever growing minority populations, just about every service in this country has language lines, or translators to make it easier...I guess since only whites overdraft their accounts, it would make sense not to have the spanish option on there....ha ha ha

This number 5034032695 is in fact wells fargo. I was skeptical at first as well so I called wells fargo toll freenumber and had them transfer me to the overdraft department. When I got in contact with them I asked them about the 503 number and was told that the number was legit but that it wasn't a direct number to their department and that it was the collections departments number. I informed him that they were rude choice words over there and he apologized for them and told me he heard that quite a bit. Its legit, they're just [***] at collections.

Started getting calls from this number today. 3 so far and it's 1pm. They don't leave messages either. They are calling my only number and it's a cell phone. I'm not gonna waste my minutes on numbers I don't know. These companies are sooooooooo damn annoying! Wish they'd get the hint and leave a message.

I don't even have Wells Fargo! They are probably trying to get a hold of the person that had my cell number before me. God I hate them! Hope you had that resolved.

receiving calls from this number, on my business phone, every 30 minutes throughout the day. When I answer the call there is no one there. Seems like this must be a calling machine. I am becoming so annoyed running for the phone throughout the day only to find this number appears on the caller id. How can I stop this continual harrassment or who can I report a complaint to?

It is Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., f/k/a Wachovia.  They are calling to remind you that your bank account is overdrawn and they want to know when you can make a deposit to cover the funds before they place it into collection.

Actually, it is Wells Fargo.  The only reason you would get a phone call from this number, is if your account is in the negative.  This number is the Overdraft Collections number.  And if you are getting a call from this number, it means you are a customer of Wells Fargo, hence, you can't opt out, or be put on the do-not-call list, because they aren't soliciting anything.  Hope this helps.

Banks will not call you repeatedly to tell you about your account balance, they give you overdraft fees and let you know at the end of the month on your statement. They also wouldnt ask for info over three phone.  If you fall for this I know a Nigerian prince that could use a loan to access the millions o of dollars that he has locked in an account that he needs to get out of the country to access......

I called them back and asked how they got my number since I am on the do not call list and do not have a Wells Fargo account. They looked up my number and said they were looking for someone totally different, Betty XYZ. I told them they had the wrong number and the agent said they would remove it. These automatic diallers are extremely annoying, terrible customer service from Wells Fargo (in case it is a legit #)
