This morning at around 10:20am I received a call from this number.  I did not pick it up as I was still not bothering to get out of bed on a Sunday morning.  I looked up the number and at 11:56am I put my number on their "DO NOT CALL LIST"

Again at 12:53pm I receive another call from this number.  Can someone please tell me how long does it take for my number to be removed?  After all, I was very polite in asking.

How does a company in Quebec get my number here in the states ? I never do phone surveys & told the gal that. I also asked that she take us off the calling list & she was polite & ok. But I used this site to try to I.D. the caller because my caller I.D. just said Montreal QC. And I am not going to spend my time chatting with someone who does not identify themselves. All she said was that it was a survey. It could be anyone ! Don't want to be called again.

I don't know who called me by that number but lmao!!!! I answered the phone and some lady with a foreign accent started off with, Hi, this is ________________________________________________ company and we are doing a survey. ahahaha the name of the company or whatever she was saying was a good 10 seconds long, atleast and I couldn't help burst into laughter! That's intense, having to remember that name and then listening to the person say it! ahahahahahahaha.

I got a call from this number and they hung up when I answered.  I am on the do not call list.
It is listed Montreal, PQ.

I actually work for this company and just want to reply here with something that I hope will be helpful.

Posting your information to this link will prevent your phone number from being added to any future surveys we run, however it doesn't remove your number from any active surveys.

The best way to do this is to phone the number back and put in extension 2012 to reach one of the supervisors on duty, or if you talk to one of our phone staff ask to speak with a supervisor. Tell the supervisor you want to be added to our DNC registry and (this is very important) let them confirm your phone number and any other numbers you want added to our DNC list. That way we can ensure that any records connected to your phone number are terminated so we won't contact you through them.

Market research companies are, in fact, exempt from the national Do Not Call registry as they're not out to solicit money from you. However, they are legally required to remove your number from calling lists if you request it. Remember that if a company has already phoned you then they already have your number so you really have nothing to lose by calling back and letting them add it to their Do Not Call list.

Well, if thats the "legitimate excuse"  All you guys have to do is identify yourself via CALLER ID.  Most people are not annoyed if they know who's calling.  If they don't answer then fine.  You cannot blame anyone for not answering or becoming ruden (when they do) when a number shows up "PRIVATE" or "ANONYMOUS" on CID

Called 7.16pm.  I didn't pick up, and they didn't leave a message.

The fact that you think people will inform themselves about how to handle these types of calls or the companies behind these calls, shows that you have no idea about the people you're trying to survey. People are lazy and have better things to do with their time then research how to get around the inner workings of survey or telemarketing calls, scams or not.

I'm sure it sucks having people constantly gripe at you over the phone for calling them, but sorry, if that wasn't in your job description when you applied for the job, they lied to you. That or you need to get some common sense that doing those annoying calls will lead to some unpleasantness. Everyone has to deal with crappy "customers" at some point, so stop whining.

And telling people to "grow some balls" doesn't really change society's perspective on the type of people behind these phone calls. Plus, we're Canadian, we're trying to tell you that we don't want your calls without being the [***] you're complaining about in the first place. You can't have it one way or the other.

The same story. They call and ask for me by first and last name. (I don’t give my cell to anyone except bank) So I was very upset and ask them how they get my number ... certainly no help from them ....
Really need to know who sold my personal info.

Is there any way I can order them to give me the information where they get my personal info? I am very concern about it, maybe they have much more ....

also any questioners must be anonymous but this callers already know you name and other info,  and any question you answer they attach to you personal profile..... very very concern!!!!

I got this call. I think if you put your number into the their website it may take a few days to process.

Its Td Canada trust credit cards asking me if I want to take part in a survey they called 6 times in three days and never leave a message

Too much info really all we want is this number to stop calling - not the difference on how or why companies repeatedly call a number they picked from a calling list. My number is unlisted and yet I still get these calls every evening at the same time.

FYI - the police/RCMP do take harassment charges seriously and will investigate these matters. If you think you are safe because you work for this company and people have been rude to you so you can call them repeatedly at all times of the day and night - you are sadly mistaken. The telephone company will mark that number and begin to record all calls as well as record any conversations. After a number calls repeatedly and has been determined it is now harassment, charges will be filed. Lose my number and if you don't like the way people respond to you - get a new job.

I don't care what you're calling for... to sell something or get my opinion about something is immaterial. The phone calls are annoying and I'm not going to pick up.

#1 - I will NOT go to opinionsearch website to enter my phone number on their own do not call list because there is no reason they should have my phone number in the first place!

#2 - I will not politely ask them to please remove my number. Oh thank you generous telemarketer for taking my number off your list, it makes me ever so happy, thank you so much, my day is so much brighter and things are really looking good for the future!

#3 - If you dont feel like answering it, dont. When they call back and you feel up to it, use up as much time as you can personally handle, or midway through the ordeal pass the phone off to another person in the room and have them start over again. This should assist in that caller failing to call another dozen numbers in that time and will hopefully result in that employee being fired and over time collapse the telenoyance industry.

#4 - Last resort, Talk to them nicely and be happy to assist in answering all of their questions free of charge, because none of us have anything better or more productive to do, right? Part way into the survey feel free to take a bathroom break, but kindly let them know you will be "back in a sec". To prevent telemarketer boredom, be sure to supply them with some music from your local heavy metal radio station during your 25 minute bathroom break. You might also want to get dinner started during this time and if possible, go OUT for dinner. Just something to keep in mind.

After the call with no message left, I called back. Was asked to call 514 288 0199 and push 7 for supervisor. I asked him to take me off their list, he said he would. We'll see....
