Called today. When I answered, the lady immediately said she had dialed the wrong number and was trying to get ahold of an address a couple houses down from mine. She asked if I knew how to get ahold of them and I said no. She thanked me and hung up.

Why don't they Identify themselves?

They asked for somebody I don't know so I told them they got the wrong number and ask them to remove my phone number. They keep asking if I know this person... and I keep telling them they got the wrong number. I will file FTC Complaint if they call again.

"Legitimate business"?  Does that give them the right to be furtive, unprofessional and rude?  I think not!  The problem with these so-called "collection agencies" is that they hire untrained people, who themselves may be caught up in their own debt difficulties; and are hired by these 'agencies' to ostensibly "work off" these debts.  They are usually given a long list of numbers to call (oftentimes calling from their homes or whatever using a general 'routed' phone number that shows up as the agency's main number, regardless of where they are geographically located.  Yes, this is a form of 'indentured servitude'.  Therefore, you can rest assured, these callers could NOT care less about telephone decorum/manners.  It boils down to the age-old adage of "dog-eat-dog".  For those advocating "less government", think about your stance the next time one of these untrained pit-bulls calls you 10 times a day and treats you or yours like a piece of human trash.  Just a thought...

Your step daughter  has stolen $50,000.00 of our tax $$$$$$ that is where the $$ for these student loans come from. Like any loan application you need references. If these Borrowers paid their bills like the rest of us ...people like you would not have to be bothered.  But I guess if it's tax payer $$$ they should be alowed to just walk off. So you don't have to be inconvienced!!!!

Talk to them and have them send you a verification of debt and check your credit score information to make sure no one else has taken a loan in your name.

File a complaint w/the BBB, they only have 315 complaints in the last 3 years and have a A rating.  Time to return the favor to them.  They are hq in CA.

DCS is a collection service with contracts from Student Loan lenders. They call you because they are doing 'skip tracing' trying to find the student. They say it is a 'personal' call because they are not allowed to give information about debts to anyone but the student.

I worked for them once.

This number came up on caller ID today and when I called them back they politely told me that they had misdialed and could I please disregard the call.  The woman was very pleasant but I don't know who they aare

This company keeps call my office and has tried to get other employess that I work with to give them information.

They called me mid-afternoon, I ignored it as I do all whom I don't know.  It said DCS on the ID.  I had a student loan and so did my son, but they are long paid off.  Never gives soc's over the phone or anything else.  So, they can ring all they want.  It will fall on dead ears.  You'd think they'd know people have Caller ID by now and won't answer......idiots!

Recieved a letter from this phone number, I believe it's a scam.  The first thing they ask for is my SSN.  They claim I owe back taxes from the state of virginia from 2008.  I was not living there at the time.

These people would call three times a day, never leave a message and sometimes hung up when I answered. I have Skype on the computer so I called the number every five mintes (I have a broken leg and am stuck in the house). When THEY answered I told them "you call my house every day. Now I'm going to call you every five minutes". I hang up before they can say anything. Do this for one hour, every five minutes. They beg you for your number to remove it from their database. When you refuse they start cursing you. Oh such fun when you are laid up with a broken leg. Try it yourself!
