No Message left it was the DOE of state of Missouri. I suspect the number is outgoing CID for a large group of numbers If you make the last four numbers the four digit extension that would tell you for sure.

I just got a call from this number today, 7/2/10 at about 9:11 AM. I recognized it as a northern MO area code, as my sister went to college up that direction. When I tried calling back, I just got a busy signal.

it is something to do with ht state, i have applied for jobs there and am getting unemployment from then too, im sure thats what it is- i got a call from that number today as well

Someone called from this number today.  Who is it that is obviously stalking the entire US

It is the Missouri Department of Revenue and Taxation.  Means you owe state taxes are they are trying to collect.  Answer the call folks!

sounds like your all wrong, this is a scam, all the different state departments and times conclude that ppl are using gov't office titles to get personal info, if you've given ur SSN, your in big trouble!  I was curious b/c i'm trying to recieve unemployment benefits, but if this number calls me back i will not provided any personal info it all sounds way fishy!!

Got a call from this number this afternoon, answered it because I didn't know the number. They asked for me but because I didn't know who it was I told them they had the wrong number. I do have bills in collection. About 5 minutes later I got a E-mail from the Missouri Department of Finance about a case that was sent to them that I had filed with the Attorney General's office. Perhaps the same people? Not the same callback number from the email but had the same prefix. The email stated that the number they had was a wrong one, so maybe it was them? Don't know, but I emailed them back. =)

I got one saying they were from IRS and a quick disconnect. Called back and was busy. Is there something we can do about this?

I just rec'd a call on my cell phone (no land line). I just filed for unemployment yesterday on-line.  Maybe it's a Mo State # which is out of Jeff City. Maybe it just verifies phone #'s???  I didn't even hear it ring....

I received a missed call today from 573-522-0000 today, I was at work and could not pick up.  I googled the number and found this website.  I tried to call the number back and it was busy.

I received a message from this number with a weird mechanical voice stating they had a job I might be interested.

I just got a call from this number as well.  I've never been to MO so not sure.  I bet they are fishing for money/donations as my home state does this junk as well.

This is an official switchboard number for the STATE OF MISSOURI.  In my case the call was a legitimate callback from the Division of Unemployment.  When a Missouri State Employee in the Jefferson City complex calls someone from their desk phone, they do not want their direct line to show up on your caller ID, so their call is routed through this switchboard number.  TAKE THE CALL.  THE OFFICIAL CALLING CANNOT BE CALLED BACK AT THIS NUMBER.

Got a call on my cell phone from this number.  I don't owe any back taxes, have no bills in collection and have no clue why the state would be calling.  They did not leave a voice mail, so I guess I'll wait and see what happens.
