Got the same message from 'Michael Sayer' at 5:30am today. Wants to buy my car for his son who is ontop of his class etc.

got a text about my ad on gumtree from+61428465117 about motorhome listed said he was on oil rig in New Zealand said wanted to buy and was returning to Darwin soon wanted me to send a agents fee to China of $950.00 Aud via western union before i got my money he was using the name Owen Steven (owensteven2007@gmail.com) have given these details to Scamwatch more research i do i find this person has more alias's and email address's beware

Have car advertised on carsguide.  Since 6.30am this morning I have had 3 texts from this number asking for more detail and wanting me to reply via email, each to a different one - jean.postle@yahoo.com.au, hendersonddd@gmail.com & michael.sayers.111@gmail.com.

I have a lot of Gumtree and ebay experience and recognise this as a Paypal scam immediately.

I don't understand why the number cant be cancelled by the ph company as soon as these scammers are recognised. Sure they just get another number but it's got to hassle them....

A guy named Donald Harman (donaldharman1@gmail.com) wanted to buy pushchair from me a couple of days ago. After he said he has made the payment, I told him off. I told him I have checked with paypal that no fund received. He replied me with "What do you mean by that..." and instructed me to follow the procedure asap to complete the procedure. Poor guy just wanted £100 from me.

Sometimes I just thought I may be not smart but I am definitely not an idiot.

yeah it's a fake number,  fake buyer! got it too for my ad on gumtree!

Again a Gumtree ad attracting this Scammer - see text content. It was for something over £1000 in value.

Thanks to everybody here who has given me some history of this pest.

I just got 2 text messages from this number after advertising my car on gumtree. First one says its from Simon and the second Daniel. Asks for me to respond via email only, 2 different weird email addresses.
Glad I found this site! Won't be responding...

Just got a message from this number saying would like to know price of van and email dman1204@gmail.com and said to email only to Dan. Bit suss because we have a camper trailer on Gumtree so I assume they got it from the advert today

This person just emailed me wanting lowest price for my wedding dress. Her name was Sharon Hair. She couldn't try the dress because she works, so she was going to send a private courier. I looked up the number, and here we are!

I riceived a sms from 61428465117. he asked me about a rent flat, he also asked to answer directly to him and not by site Rentalia.....................mmmmmmhh suspect!!
now I riceived a e-mail from Kim Tran but it is impossible to open, maybe it is better don't waste time.

I got the same email address sms to my phone kimtuart56@live.com, within a hour of posting my car on gumtree, similar text as to others in this thread and same aust mobile number. Scammers are disguting.

Turd is now using the name of Paul JASON "Sent from Paul Jason Am interested in your car. please what is your firm price and present condition?email me back at (pljason443@gmail.com).

Had the same text from the same number, and with the same email address for Jim Rich.

20 minutes later, got a similar text from same number, from ScottWilliams1@live.com.au.

Only happened after added car ad to Gumtree. No problems with Car Sales previously..

Scam. Don't get caught. It asks for your bank details and Paypal account to 'transfer payments.'
