This company is very harrassing to every one they call.  When you answer the phone, a recording tells you his name and then puts you on hold to speak with someone else.  It appears to be a debt collector for Aarons.

I receive calls from this number often as they have been blowing up my cell phone (actually a 'go-phone' I use in emergencies and have not given the number to anyone!) for months now. This month alone, they called on the following days: 2, 7, 9, 10, 11, 15, 17.  They are looking for someone I've never heard of and identify themselves as "Agent Jackson" or "Agent White" from Cohen, Schwartz and Associates.  IF they even leave a message at all.  I've called numerous times (the last call I made and spoke with "Agent Jackson" was on 2/10) and was told that 'it takes about 24 hours to pull your number from our system'.  I still get calls...one today, in fact.

Now, this is NOT the first time I've called and went through the entire ordeal explaining that they have the wrong person, etc.  Doesn't help.  

If anyone has any information on how to get these people to stop calling - I'd appreciate it!!!

Here's the scoop on this business..... The call saying they are Cowen Schwartz & Associtates if you are lucky enough to talk to a person, (if not, u get a robot leaving a message saying there is an URGENT matter in need of your response from "Chris White" ) After speaking with someone today, I was told that they are investigators. I asked of what. He said, "We're more like asset recovery agents". I said that I don't know what that means and if I could have his business liscense number. He got VERY upset and told me that he would email me all the information about their company and all the documentation of my debt and if I didn't pay it immediately that I would go to jail. I never got that email. If you look them up, they are not on the BBB. However, a company called Hollander Chase and Associates is and from what I have heard and gather, they are the same company. HCA has a F rating and is being investiagated themselves. If you call their number, you get the same recording as this number. Check it out.....

I ask everyone to file a complaint against this company (Cowen Schwartz & Associates). There is an option to develop a report if you can't find the business you're searching. These people are trash!

We got our first call today but not from the same number everyone else talked about but from Agent Walltower with Cowen, Schwartz and Associates about someone we do know and about something this person supposedly bought illegally and my daughter's name was used as a reference.  We even were given a case number!  We called the 1-888-286-3470 back and got her voicemail and we left a message.  Thanks to all of yall's posts we are going to be very careful and not give out any personal information and are going to ask for their business license number as someone else did.  This is some crazy stuff.  The funny thing with us is that we thought this was real as the person they are supposedly looking for is a low life anyway and we like nothing better than for him to get in trouble!!!  LOL  Thanks for all the info!!

THESE JERKS CALL ME 15 TIMES IN AN HOUR! I'm not even kidding. I just got this number a couple of months ago, and the calls are not even for me. I called this number back. It's some law firm and the "operator" who answered the phone was the biggest @ss. I told him how many times they were calling 20 times a day or more, and that I wasn't the person they were trying to reach. He accused me over over exagerating and continued to tell me that oh they don't call anyone that much. After several other rude comments he said "what's your number?!". I gave it to him...i guess he looked it up in the system..oh yeah here it is.. It's like seriously?! UGH! This company really has my blood pumping and If they continue to call me I've got enough phone records, messages, and a recorded conversation with this jerk and will be suing them personally.

I have just had a screaming match with this Cohen & Schwartz Ass. They are nasty and there should be a way to make them go out of buisness. I can not locate them but they said this was a Copr office in Atlanta, GA. I was going to look at Better Business website to see who they are.

Cohen Swartz and Associates records all their calls and monitors their collection floor for any violations of the FDCPA by their collectors. Once they catch them they fire them. Some of these rogue agents who are now jobless have a personal vendatta and have made repeated threats to ruin the company. I spoke to the folks over at Cohen Swartz myself and they are wonderful folks running the company. They will not allow any violations on their company. I had a great experience with them discussing my bill and when it became clear to them I was doing my best and not able to pay in full of settle, they gave me a payment arrangement.

So, you losers out there, find another job that will accomodate your crap. They are good people and not concerned about your threats. They are just another employer on the long line of employers who gave you opportunity to work and make a leaving like everyone else and you messed up. Get a life!!!

The operator then stated that I made payment arrangements with CMG tocollect this debt and something happened. I told the operator, that sounded as if I woke her up, that it wasn't me. She then stated that I have nothing to worry about and hung up. WTH?

My parents got the phone call today and was told that there was a complaint on them, and that they were going to file the complaint on my parents if they didn't call them back.  I explained to my mother it was someone wanting something for free, and it sounds like they are a big scammer.

I have gotten Numerous calls from them and they has some very specific information which makes them seen very legit. They knew my family and distant reletives and yet cont get in touch with them via mail. They do all thier business via email or over the phone. Is this a legit company?

This is a repackaged Hollander Chase & Assoc. scam. It got too hot for them as HCA so they took on a new identity to cover their tracks...The agent names and phone numbers are the same as the Atlanta BBB has for the HCA firm, which has at least (8) unresolved complaints againt them, and a F rating. HCA has also been reported to the FTC and Georgia Atty Gen'ls office as well as other AG offices in the U.S. so don't get suckered into to believing they are legitimate.

So it seems pretty clear to me that these people are a bunch of jerks exploiting people already stressed out enough by past debts, or just flat out harassing people who have nothing to do with any of it at all.  Everyone keeps saying it's a scam, don't give them any info, blah blah blah.  Clearly, that is true.  My question is, though, if you have been contacted by them, and they clearly already know a lot of personal information (god only knows how they're getting it, really makes me nervous), you don't give them anything further and your conversation ends.  What now?  A few people have asked this question, and I have yet to see an answer.  Does no one actually know what to DO in this situation?  Who do we call or write to to complain?  What ACTIONS can be taken to protect yourself from them further, especially since they already know so much about you?

I rec'd a call today from a Mr Rhodes stating he is from a law firm by the name of Cohen, Schwartz and Associates. I have no clue who they are and I don't plan to return any calls. I have rec'd several scaming calls lately and this is just another on on my list

I'm being harassed by this number also. SEVERAL times a day starting early in the morning.  I've talked to them and told them to take me off their list. and i stil getting calls

I started  getting calls from this number on a Saturday afternoon, no legit law offices work  late on a
Saturday evening doing debt collection calls. On Monday they said they were cohen schwartz associates.
When I stated this was a scam the individual started getting defensive and hang up on me when I said
I was going to call my local police department and report them

These people are calling my place of employment and asking my employees personal questions about me. The are very rude when I have talked to them. They called my cell then after I did not answer my work phone and there was 4 calls in less than a minute. They say they are serving me with a summons for court and that they are invesitgators with the law. They speak to you like you are a piece of crap. I have been told not to put up with them behaving this way as they are just bill collectors.

I just received a call from this company stating that if I didn't pay them from a debt owed from 3 years ago I was going to be summons into court.  Is there anything I can do to get them to quit calling me at work.

I recieved several very Rude Threatening calls about mispreresenting something or another.
