As for running to a doctor when I need one, I don't if I do not have the funds.  Speak for yourself ONLY, and NOT OTHERS.

It's not that people don't want to pay their debts, for the most part the vast majority of people want, and do pay their debts, at leats valid debts.
That is when a person goes the the grocery store to buy any item it is required under law that the price be disclosed.
If I go to buy a car it's required that I am told the cost for the car, if I get a contractor to build me a home they must give me an estimate of the cost, often this estimate includes possible cost over runs.
The same applies with fees for other revolving credit lines.
However with medical services it's billing is entirely subjective based upon the financial condition of the party providing the service, the services most often than not never give any estimate as to the costs, while this is exceptable in life threatening situations, it should not apply at all times.
For example I had my gall bladder removed, although my hospital never gave me any estimates on the costs, I did research on my own prior and it was disclosed that the average cost was around $2,500.00.
I never received a bill until I received a letter from their attorney.
I replied to their attorney stating I never received any billing, and the amount that they were attempting to charge which was in excess of $25k was extraordinary, and at this point cannot be justified since the average cost for such an operation was far less than what I was being billed for.
So yes there are times in which a person does have a right to dispute such charges, when it's clear that the charges are neither fair, nor reasonable.
It's clear that many within the medical community don't give estimates for the sole purpose of providing the service, and then charging whatever they want, and try to stand on their grounds that "they had an open contract" and thus "provided the services" and they expect to be "compensated" for providing their services.
It's a trick being played, and yes I too had insurance, what they also don't tell you is while you may have a 80/20 co-pay the insurance can negotiate thier 80% down, as much as 50%-60% , meanwhile the hospital bloats your 20%, and or adds in charges that they say the i9nsurance company does not pay.
This means the contract you have between your insurer and you, is being influenced by a new billing contract between your insurer and the medical provider, thus it effects your contract negatively.
Don't buy into this medical billing mess they have created.

we are a staffing agency and yes our temps who don't work in our offices use our number but they don't work here...... so when we tell you over and over that they are not at this number and you can't reach them here but you keep calling that is a pain in the butt!

They call several times a  day and I was told we owe .5.00 for a medical bill!Wow they sure are going through alot for five bucks!

This number appears daily!  I haven't answered in the past but today I answered and a man asked for me by name. I said "this is she" and corrected the pronunciation of my last name....then total silence on the other end.  I said hello a couple of times - still total silence. So I hung up!!!! If this is truly a collection agency for a medical bill; it is not for me! I owe no medical bills-PRAISE GOD!!!

i dont know who keeps calling me if this is a bill collector they dont need to call me i filled bankrupsy and all mt debts have been taken care of.

I receive a bill hahaha and I ask them to send me a statement of every time I when to the hospital and they been charge me for and they just send me the statement with just one day of service and they want me to pay. I'm going Monday to the hospital and ask my self for my statement with them and if this people start to bother me again the will see my lawyer also they want to collect the money on a PO box haha amazing...

I encourage everybody to call them and say what you like... anything... the point is to waste a lot of their man hours the way they have mine. It will now start costing them money to pay people to take my phone calls.. try to keep them on the phone as long as possible so they can't be taking real calls. I have appointed several of my employees to call through out the day when they aren't busy. Publish this number everywhere as a great number to prank call. Put these criminals out of business.

How about when I HAVE paid my bill, but paid it directly to the doctor's office, in person at their front counter, yet I still get these calls?

I don't think people are mad at the doctors. It's this agency and their rude and ignorant tactics. I paid my bill and they keep calling. I don't answer, but I presume they resent it that I paid my bill at the doctor's office, therefore cutting out the middle man ... THEM ... and denying them their fee. Screw 'em!!!

I think I've paid for the same dr. visit (not to mention 3 or four other visits at same time) at least 2x if not 3x on 3  different occasions with witnesses present. Have papers from dr.s office where receptionists have written PAID and shown it to office accountant in dr's office while I was watching but I still get calls from this number 2-3 times a day about 5 days a week sometimes even on Saturdays and Sundays. I always pay for that day's visit the day I go and have paid the outstanding balance I once owed TWICE, but people in dr's office still keep telling me I have an outstanding balance every time I go plus the copay for that day (which as I said, I always pay that day). Even after paying outstanding debts plus same day visit copay and telling the receptionist I was still getting the calls even after paying my debt, I still got a call from this number the very next day after I had paid outstanding debt for the SECOND time (including one visit I had already paid for at least twice). They will not stop calling even when you have paid the same debt more than once. Have shown my receipts to receptionists to prove I've paid, but still get the calls. Going to show receipts again at next visit and if that doesn't work take further action. We shouldn't be harassed period, but especially not after we've paid our debts. So it is not true that if you just pay your drs they will leave you alone.
