- Concerned Business OwnerCalled from this number and automated system claimed to be IRS then demanded they be called back 'by close of business today' at (877) 968-3413; sounded very official plus intimidating and even gave a long bogus case number to referred to. When you call, it sounds legitimate and even has same IRS background music while you are on hold. It is obvious this is a scam, as I never gave the IRS this number to contact me during my dealings with them.
- Caller: Claims to be IRS
- Witchy replies to PhilIt IS a scam. The IRS doesn't use "IRS", they are the Dept. of the Treasury, Internal Revenue Service. Maybe all you guys confirming it are part of the scam. It is pretty much a nationwide operation.
- BakerReceived a call from 716 206 3218 claiming to be IRS. They had a claim number n request I call before the end of the business day, by 8 pm.
- Born at night but not last nightReceived two calls from this number. one to my work number and njust now to my cell. A callback to that same number tells me it is disconnected then rings busy.
- Caller: "IRS"
- Call type: Prank

- NICE TRYI got a call from this number and I did not answer. They left an automated message and claimed to be the IRS. They said I need to call a different number than this one by the end of the business day today. I see on Facebook and other places that this has been going on for a while. Why have these people not been stopped yet and thrown in jail?! They claim to be the IRS. Is this not a Federal Fraud charge?!!
- NICE TRY replies to MarkIf you don't think this is a scam then call them and provide them with you Social Security number and personal information. Let us all know how that turns out for you.
- Pat| 1 replyAutomated call from this number even gave a case #. I am going to call and play them a little.
- Pat replies to PatAfter I entered ss# 111-11-1111 a woman answered with a hello, no formal greeting of irs , when I asked who she was she stated "the irs". Now correct me if I am wrong but as a Federal employee when answering a phone call or if asked what branch you are working for, acronyms are not allowed?
- DurkaDurkaDurka replies to Mark| 1 replyThey called WI this time, leaving a different 877 # to call back to try and confuse, but its the same scam calling from 716-206-3218.
- DurkaDurkaDurka replies to DurkaDurkaDurkaHere's the msg from the irs regarding the scam. Just so you don't have to dig through all the other comments to find that this is bullsh*t:

- Caller: IRS
- Call type: Debt collector
- PiditThey said Automated Services when they left the voice messages to me.
Crazy thing is 1st call from Franchise Tax Board
Right after that 2nd call from these bozos (Automated Services)
Then again 3rd call from the same bozos.
Each time case number is different. Dumb Nigerian is not that smart though.
In real situation, case number from starts to finish is the same one. But dumbo uses some random number every time it calls.
If you call them back or if you pick up their calls, you are screwed. Best thing, never pick up any calls that you do not recognize.
How do they have somebody's confidential information? Is government employee part of this multi-billion dollar scam?- Caller: Associated Services
- NickI got a call this am from 716.206.3218. They left a voice message with a case number. by calling 877.968.3413 by close of business today. I had my wallet stolen in November 2014, buy druggies. since then I get all sorts of strange calls. Tonight I am changing my cell phone
