Received call January 28 2014. Same stuff.. from IRS and call the # 877 968- 3413. Call was  from (716) 206- 3218.

Must be changing # ' s now.

Just a comment- they will not mention you by name because it involves money and is a sensitive nature.

I found that I had a message on my cell phone voice mail from Jan. 28.   Similar to what others reported except that this did not state it was the IRS, instead it said this was a call from an Automated Service and that is important I respond to this message by close of business.   Gave a case number of 4571843056.  I checked the voice mail envelope information and it stated that call was received from 716-206-3218.  Not going to call back and verify my number with them.

Who is this?  It is a disconnected number but reads IRS on caller ID

Received a call this morning with a voicemail saying it was imperative that I call them today.
The name came up IRS and the number to call was 1-877-968-3413.  I will not be returning this call.

If the IRS needs to contact you, and we have your correct address on file, we mail a C letter or a CP notice. In the very rare instances that we DO call taxpayers, we are required to give our Name, Badge Number, and a specific reason for the call (without violating disclosure laws of course).

This IS a scam call.

Received a call at 9:16 this morning. It was from 716-2006-3218. Message left on voice mail. This is a call from an automated service. It is important that you respond by close of business today. Our hours are 8 AM to 8 PM. Case reference number is 1281922397. Repeated case number.

It's tax season and programming IRS to show up on caller ID will make a lot of people bite.

I got a call/message from this number today-less then 12 hours after I e-filed my taxes.  They said it was urgent for me to call them back immediately and gave a long 'case number' for me to reference.  They did not identify themselves in any way, but they sounded quite official.  As with the other callers, they left a 1800 number for me to call back.  Because they did not identify themselves, I looked up the number and found these postings.  I will not be calling them back.  I hope that others who get the call are about to protect themselves as well.

I just received an automated call from 716-206-3218 but the recording gave the number of 1-877-968-3413 followed by a case number and to call before close of business. I figured it was more than likely a scam and will not bother calling back.

Just received a voice message from 716-206-3218. Stated she was from the IRS and I was to call the 800 # before the end of today. There was an urgency in her voice, but no information. No, I did not call the number she gave me to call. We do not owe anything and if I am due anything they can just send me the check. The IRS will work with you with payments....They do not leave messages like this. You will first get certified mail before any phone calls. Don't be scammed by these calls.

I received a call from this number at 1150am today, saying that I needed to call them by the EOB today. This number is out of service when I tried to cal it.(716-206-3218)

Same thing caller ID shows to be IRS and said that it was a automated system but never said that they where the IRS and that I should call a 877-968-3413 number and to reference a case number  6751911211   IRS will never call over the phone you will get a letter or they will come to your house if they have to .

FYI they are still at it. Got the call on my cell on July 14th.

I had this call today.  I never had any trouble with the IRS.  Same number as everyone here.  My BF even said it was a scam.  The IRS always mails you a letter.  These people overseas are scammers.  Be careful and don't be fooled!
