    Not Brian
By the way, you can save the number to your list of contacts, if you're getting called on a cell phone, like me.  Then set the phone to use a special ring for calls coming from that number.  I set mine to "no ring."  Brian's friend will be wasting his time, from now on.

I've gotten calls from this number every day 6-9 times a day for the past week or two. Every time I've tried to call back I've been disconnected. I finally got in touch with an Indian woman on the phone and she said she was from Bloomingdales/Macy's and asked for my social security number. It was bizarre.

The number is listed as belonging to a business calling themselves "MCCS" in Feather Sound, FL. I've Googled both "MCCS" and the number "727-556-7300".  It's a Verizon Florida number saying it's an "Independent Telco" but still is a division of Verizon Inc.  Feather Sound, FL is about halfway between Tampa and St. Petersburg.
Interestingly enough, MCCS also stands for "Marine Corps Community Services", (from Google as well). This is obviously NOT the Marine Corps calling.
Information is free.  It should stay that way!
Reading other posts they are saying this is a Debt Collection service for Macy's.  I don't own a Macy's card either and never have!

My phone is a message phone for someone with a Macy's card, I do not have one.  This number was callling every two hours if I answered or not.  I do daycare and foster care and they would wake babies up. I asked them not to call so much this is only a message phone.  They would hang up on me and call again.  I finally talked to a superviser and he said he would take me off the list, DID NOT happen.  Talked to a second supervisor and said he would take my number off the acct.  Calls stopped for two weeks but have now started again.  Check you collection laws. They can only call so often and can not call after a certain time of night.  I threatened harrasment on them for calling after 9 pm, that is when the calls stopped for awhile.

After reading this page, I called Macy's, and yes, indeed, this number is Macy's Credit Service.  They start calling if you miss or are late on one payment.  I am not sure why Macy's deems it necessary to use this method, expecially since they make the calls night and day.  Very annoying, especially when you have been a valued customer for a long time.

After seeing several calls on caller ID but no messages being left, I answered. An extremely rude collections person with a very strong Indian accent was on the phone demanding a payment for my Macy's account. He kept interrupting me and refused to listen to my side of the story. I knew I was current in payments and not only that, had a credit on the account. I had My Check Free confirmation to show this but he kept interrupting me and was finally yelling at me and threatening to send me to collections if I didn't make a payment.  I told him he was rude, that he kept interrupting and that he had wrong information. More threats. So I hung up and called Macy's Customer Service number who straightend out everything for me and noted what a long standing and valuable customer I'd been. Well, I won't be anymore. This isn't the first time My Check Free botched a payment and I refuse to be insulted by rude collection people. I paid off the Macy's card and won't use it ever again. Probably am less inclined to shop there as well. Very very bad experience, and not the first. Macy's should be made aware of this. I tried to tell the customer svc rep, who also was from India, and he showed no concern and wouldn't comment.

I have been continually harassed by this number.  When I finally answered, a computer voice told me to hold for their next available representative.  Of course I hung up.  After 5 calls from that number today, I finally used the call block feature provided by our local phone company to prevent further calls.  (We do have Macy's cards, but they are current and we've been good customers of Macy's for years and years.)

This is a Macy's collection agency.  They were repeatably calling and harassing my 12 year old daughter.   I filed a complaint with the BBB and the FTC.  The next day I got a call from the Macy's corporate office and they apologized and removed her number.  REPORT IT

They call two or three times a day.  At first I answered call not knowing who it was.  They ask for a Mary, I told them they had the wrong number.  They called the next day and I told that I had told them yesterday they had the wrong number.  The next day I got another call I answered and told them that this was the third time I had told them that they had the wrong number and take my number off their list.   I answered a fouth time and told them that I had told them 4 times they have the wrong number and that I had filled a compalint with the FTC(which I did).  A lot of good it did they are still calling 2-3 times a day, I just don't answer or answer and lay the phone down.  I contacted the Kansas Attorney General's office and they were no help.  They said I had get their name and address and sent them a registered letter telling to stop calling, then if that didn't stop them to file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office then.  There should be something to do to stop these people.

This number has called my home more than a dozen times in the last month, but never left a message.  Today, I happened to be home.  I missed the first call.  I answered the next 3 and told each person to take my number off their calling list:  I've had my # for 3 years, there's no one at this # by the name they ask for and I've never had a Macy's account.  I even called Macy's customer service and told them about these calls.  I was told the 727 # is their collection service but there was no record that they had been calling my home phone #, so there was nothing Macy's could do about it.  It is VERY annoying.  The one call I missed this morning was because I slept late (on vacation) and the phone woke me up!

I received 2 calls from them today. When I called back he asked if I had an account with Macy's and wanted the account number or my SSN.When I refused he was VERY rude. This must be some kind of scam as my macy's card has a zero balance!!!

    Solution
I had received these annoying calls like many on this site.

    I found the solution:

    1) Do not answer any of their questions. They will try to avoid answering your questions and ask you a question such as your account number etc, don't answer just repeat your question.

    2) Ask for their full name. They will try to only give you only a first name. Keep asking for their first and last name.

    3) Ask what company they represent.

    4) Ask for their phone extension number.

    5) Ask for their employee number.

    6) Ask for their supervisor's name.

    7) Ask for their mailing address.

You will not get thru all the questions before they simply hang up and they will not call again.

Do not skip to the next question until they full answer a question.

    Good luck!

I think I have a record here... 39 calls in 15 days so far. If it's Macy's collections as someone said than they should stop soon. All paid up.
