Same scammer just tried to suck me in responding to my craigslist post. I called the Fraud Division of the police dept. and they said that unless I actually was scammed out of money that they could not do anything. I received an offer from a Michelle Jones on Craig's List to purchase a vehicle from me. Her assistant mistakenly sent to much money. She then asked me to cash it immediately and send the difference via Western Union to a moving company to ship the vehicle to her. Not knowing it was a scam, I agreed.

So I was a little suspisious and told her I only accept cash or check and she said she was paying in a check... So I called the provided number and it said it was going to a mailbox that was full so I emailed her back replying to her that basic info and this is what she replied: I have since received the confirmation from my secretary  that the payment has been issued out and was mailed by the United Parcel Service.It will be delivered to your address a day from now according to the courier ,but to my greatest surprise the draft was issued out to the sum of $1650 instead of the actual cost of my purchase . She claimed that i requested for that amount to be  issued out to you  but am very sure i only made a request for just the cost of my purchase.This is a terrible mistake and i was just  informed about this so please once  the check is delivered  please take it to your Bank and have it cashed.

You will then deduct the cost of my purchase plus an extra $100 to offset the cost of your run around expenses and western union charges. The rest of the  fund should be sent to my mover  via western union the same day you  receive the payment so that my mover  can make the trip over for the pick at once. **I will need your immediate response via email assuring me  that i can trust you to handle this with utmost care and  have the remaining fund returned appropriately as requested  and will hope that your intentions remains noble though out the duration of this transaction**
That is what I found really bewildering so I asked her information about herself and where to send the money and ring to... That question still remains unanswered lol. Sooo it is fraud people!!

I tried to call this number and there was no answer i am also contacting my local phone company about it.

yes i just did the same thing, so i guess they never respond back once you do not agree to do the trasaction, i actually was going to have her send to my paypal, and then case the money and send her part via western union, so how do they make out money if they send you the money first, how does this scam work??

SCAM !!

the scam is that they will send you a money order and directions to cash the check and send so much money to their "secretary" or delivery person and keep the rest for all the agrevation. DO NOT PUT THIS IN YOUR BANK. the checks are forgeries and by the time the bank catches it they all have your money. i have received them in the forms of money grams and postal money orders. take them to whomever they are issued off of with a printout of the email and they will file the paperwork

just for fun i started giving the scammers addresses of other scammmer that were contacting me.. i got so sick of them all i just started having fun with it

Thanks for posting this. I just received a request to purchase a table from Linda L. Moore w/ the EXACT same text as 'she' sent you. I almost went through with the sale but decided to do a little searching since I didn't like giving out my home address. THANK YOU for posting this so I can avoid this scam.

Got the same message from James Burrows on Craigslist, he replied to my add about 10 minuets after I posted it asking if it was still for sale? Well like a idiot I replied and said yes. So then 2 days later at 1:00am he replies with this message.

As soon as I read it I thought something was fishy so I googled the phone # and found all these responses, glad I did!!! The return email was chamelofficebox1@globomail.com I like Craigslist alot but man you gotta be careful of who's out there!! Just mad at myself for responding to him with my name. Hopefully i wont hear from this person again. Beware everyone!!

Yeah I posted a room on craigslist and got this crazy email. Nobody in their right mind is going to send you money up front without seeing the place first. Besides this person said they are a Dr. if that is the case then they can find something much better than what I have to offer.
