Interesting.  I just received a craigslist reply from the same Linda L Moore in response to an aquarium ad I had placed!

Ms. so-called Moore:  Is it still available and in good condition as stated in the ad?

Me:  Yes I still have it and it is in good condition.  The gravel in it is brand new and I have some extra food, a gravel cleaner and some other misc items that you can have as well.  I may have an extra light hood that you can have, but I haven't checked to see if it will fit the top yet or not.

Same scam was sent to me in response to an add I ran on craigslist.  It's a pretty obvious that it is a scam from the get-go, but wanted to post it in case actually fall for it.  Here is the response I received (love the touch about being hearing impaired at the end):

Same scam e-mail address and that number come from:  harrylake.davis@gmail.com  First e-mail of this scam came from this address, then the second after reply came from:  aeb618@gmail.com.  Same scenario as all the others.

I got the same email From Linda L Moore<aeb618@gmail.com. She was interested in a bumper I was selling. Same number same excuse of being hearing impaired all that bull shyt... Its my first time on Craigslist and immediately got a buyer so I accepted to sell it to her...The same story about the secretary's mistake she is worried about losing her money. Me being so stupid trusting this person because of her so called disability went  through with it. She sent me a check in the amount of $2,000, but I found it very weird that no one wanted to cash the check. I'm in contacted with her the whole time trying to get this sorted out but at the same time I am becoming suspicious about the check so I take it to my bank and try to deposit but I am letting them know the whole story behind the check. They tell me that I can deposit it but should wait till the check clears, so that's what I do. Meanwhile I looking up information on Linda. I found out its a 54 yr old woman from Indiana. I called the phone # and its disconnected. I then decided to look into the email and that's when I found this page. I have read all your comments and cant believe how this person can do this over and over and not be remorse for what the are doing. After I read all the comments on the page I immediately contacted her and she was mad..She asked me to stop with the excuses because her bank contacted her telling her that the deposit was taken out of her account.. I asked her for proof and she denied it. She insulted me and said she was going to cancel the check.and that she could not believe that I would take advantage and stay with her money.LOL I contacted my bank and told them what was going on I even took printouts of our whole conversation. The money is still in my account I have not touched one cent I am sure the check is going to bounce in a few weeks. After I confronted her she has not wrote back, the funny stuff is that the same day I told her about her being a scam artist I received another check in the same amount. I promise you one thing this wont happen again. You can't trust anyone!!!!

Haha I knew this too good to be true. I received the check and she even had the nerve to tell me that I better follow through with it. I told her not until I verify the check isn't falsified. Her response: You better do that.. And all the emails read the same as above.

I got that same email today but the [***] thing is that I called and left a voice mail before I found out it was a scam.  NOW they have my phone number and 1st name.... can someone look you up only using a cell phone number? what should I do?

I got similar response to my craiglist ad ..and his name Dave (kelly797901@gmail.com).. he is total fraud very fishy response.

I just got the same relay # and message from Craig's List.  You can always tell a scammer from the way it is written and the big give-away is always....hearing impaired.  Please don't fall for it.

I responded, and my signature on the bottom of the email has my Name, Company, and cellphone number. I stopped responding after I noticed it was a scam because the email was so weird. Can they do anything with the personal info I gave them? (First, last name, phone number, company)?
