- sandiegan_CAThey invade San Diego, CA April 1, 2009 around 7:40PM,
just cough and hang up.
Can we have any way to stop them or make them out-of-business ? - JohnVery rude company. They hung up on me as soon as I said I didn't want anymore calls; probably company policy since they've given me so many 'last changes' to opt out of their warranty program. Then there's the endless list of 'financially rewarding' options. It's hard to imagine that any reputable company would do business in this manner.
- Caller: No idea
- jkI just started receiving calls from this number and will ignore it as I do other scam artists like this one. Regarding Rebecca's comment about reactivating your number with the donotcall.gov list, here info right from that website...
www.donotcall.gov:
Your registration will not expire. Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008. Read more about it at http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2008/04/dncfyi.shtm.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT
THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY
The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at this Website. You can register your home or mobile phone for free.- Caller: Warranty Alert
- MarthaI received a call from this # today at around 12:30pm. I have Caller ID, so I didn't answer the phone. It went to my v-mail, but they didn't leave a message. I have received calls from this ph# or something similar that I have answered & all you get is a recording that tells you that your "auto warranty" is about to expire. The other recording tells you that they have been trying to get in touch you to have you renew your "auto service warranty", & if you don't respond your policy will be canceled, unless you press something like #1, if don't respond the recording tells you that your policy will be canceled at the end of the month. When I called the company I have an auto service warranty with, they told me my plan was in place until 2013, & this is a company that is trying to sell me more insurance, & I should ignore them.
- roni also get calls from this number identifying itself as warranty alert. this is just another lame attempt to sell a worthless warranty or something else. hey, come on, if you have called id use it. if you don't know the number or you get unknown caller, not provided, out of area or anything like this, just don't answer. i have caller id and message center. over time i have trained myself that if it is anything important from anyone i know, then they can leave a message and i will call them back. if i don't have any idea who it is, i simply do not answer. don't be so tied to your phone that you break your neck to answer before the second ring. nothing is that important.
- BrianRude, and they still keep calling and hanging up. I tell them they are violating the FCC and they just laugh
- Caller: auto warranty
- PeggiThey called, I got a cough and they hung up. I called back and hit the option to stop receiving these calls. Seems it's just a voice message system company to take calls from any of these companies that are trying to rip you off.
- JessWarranty Alert - Claimed the warranty on my vehicle was expiring - Yeah I have a 1994 truck. I selected #1 to speak to a representative and got what sounded like a drunk with kids. Asked why they were calling and she hung up on me.
- TominycI didn't answer the phone, but I'm so tired of being harrassed by thes scam artists. I keep reporting all the numbers to the DNC, and it doesn't do any good. this is harrassment, and Isn't there anything we can get the FCC to do something? I read on another board that Paetec is the VOIP carrier who works with these telemarketers.
- anonymouscalls -then a caugh and silence
- EdThe call is a scam. I talked with the people at the Do Not Call center. They get a lot of complaints, but since this company subscribes to a service (and you and I can do the same) that transmits any phone number and Caller ID name they choose. Since the number are disconnected or fake or soofs a legitimate name or company, there is no way the state or the feds can track them down. The calls may even be coming from outside the US
- danGot a call from 786-369-7342. The Caller ID says Warranty Alert. I push one to "talk" to the operator. She first stated she represented "Warranty Service Centers" when pressed she let it slip once that she was calling for National. National Auto Warranties is under investigation by the Missouri Attorney General. They claimed they've stopped this process. They lied.
- Caller: National
- ButchThey called twice last week. I answered the first time as I have relatives in FLA. Blah blah blah: renew your automobile's factory warranty! My car is nearly 20 years old--keep it for 2 reasons: mainly sentimental and it's in great shape These people even send US mail to my deceased brother wanting him to sign up for factory coverage. He didn't even have a vehicle the last 2 years of his life!
- suzii get this call at least once per day. if i choose to answer, there is a man's cough and i say very distinctly, "Please remove me from your calling list." and i hang up.
what is the deal with the cough anyway? many of you mentioned it!! is it a recording? - SueI have been ignoring calls from this number for 3 months and the calls continue. Any other ideas?
- Caller: ?
- MikeThese people are starting to be a pain in my "donkey." I get about 4 calls a day and like some of you they just hang up. I think the person can tell that I will catch on and report it. My Mom is 83 and she has my 1999 Grand Am and she talks to them for hours and it ends with them saying something like B.S., you have a car or not. Retired people have so much fun out of these nuts.
How much does it cost to have siding put on a brick house?
What don’t call list….I have been on it since day one and still get calls from 8:30a.m. till 11:00 pm. Aren’t we having fun now.?- Caller: WARRANTY ALERT
- PAlexanderI have gotten this call at least 2-3 times a day. A person coughs then they go into their pitch regarding my vehicle warranty is expiring.
- Caller: Warranty Alert
- TammyThe only way to stop these people is to follow through with a complaint to the FTC. Please file! Once enough complaints are received actions start.
YOUR COMPLAINT HAS BEEN ACCEPTED
Thank you for filing your complaint with the National Do Not Call Registry.
Do not call complaints will be entered into a secure online database available to civil and criminal law enforcement agencies. While the FTC does not resolve individual consumer problems, your complaint will help the agency investigate the company, and could lead to law enforcement action. - marlomy car warranty yea. right.
- MissyI too have received several calls from these clowns & NOW they're calling my cell! Oh no they didn't!
I've asked them to stop in the past but it obviously didn't work.
Today, I did some googling on them & came across these contact numbers and email addys. The 2555 one has been posted on here before but I haven't seen the other contact info before today.
I suggest we FLOOD their phones & emails with complaints! What's good for the goose is good for the gander!
