seems like chase either needs to tighten its security so scam artists cannot obtain their customers' names and phone numbers OR if it is legitimate, needs to take a different approach as everything about these calls screams scam.  i too called the number on chase's website and was told there was nothing indicating a fraud investigation on my account and that they had no knowledge of this 800 number.

either way, my confidence in chase has plummeted.

You can as I have just done, and google this number. Sites like whocallsme and 800notes have about 95% of peoples' comments are saying, FRAUD.
Regardless, I called back the people to see what they wanted, and indeed, these people in the Phillipines may not even be aware they are part of a fraud. But the guy could not tell me his rep #.
Next, I called Chase at a number they have on their web site, and asked if there is any fraud flagged in my account today --no, there is NONE.
So, I'm blocking this number. They called 4 times this morning and I don't need the concern or worry or interruptions.  
Never give out any personal information to someone who leaves a number for you to call-- they ALREADY have all of your information.

Got a missed call just when i added an external account. Not calling back therr after reading this but will call chase to check on mi account

NOT a scam.  Called back, gave the robot my phone number and zip code, robot asked if I made an external transfer (I had), I confirmed and money was delivered.  Nothing was asked but my phone number (which they had) and my zip code.  They knew my transfer info.  It is Chase.

Got call from this number to verify on line transaction payment. Not fraud number.

My good friend chase don't know about this type call it's a furad. Do not provide any detail about your account I bet you will be sorry.

It turns out this is actually a Chase Fraud Prevention number.  I called Chase from the back of my card, and the girl I spoke with didn't have any knowledge of this number, but after reading through several of these comments, I decided to call and find out for myself.  They simply wanted to verify that I made a Quickpay transfer - I was not asked for any account numbers or pin numbers.

i received a call from this number soon after scheduling my first online transfer (which leads me to believe it may be legitimate) but i never called back yet my transfer went through fine.  this makes me suspect the number as not being legitimate because i see little sense in making the call if a response is not necessary.

This is not a scam.  I contacted my bank which is Chase and the call pertained to a check in a large amount that I had written.  They were doing there job and checking to see if it was a legit transaction.  ...The number that I received was given to me right from Chase and my guy told me that it was in fact due to the check.  Before doing anything.  Contact your local chase bank

This is not a scam. I called the Chase number on the back of my card and they directed me to an 877 Fraud Prevention number. When I called, they did ask for verification of my card number, pin, sec code and exp date. They then told me that it was because of a $1080.00 check I had wrote. They just wanted to confirm that it was me who wrote it.

You need to be stupid to give all the information requested by this call 1-800-366-1962, THIS IS A SCAM.
Hang up and call you branch directly. And those who mention in this post that is valid, are the scammers.

They called four times this morning to verify an online transaction.  I called the number on the back of my debit card.  After 45 minutes with them on the phone, they found the department that was calling me.  The calls were legitimate.

i think i would be just as upset that it took 45 minutes than if the call was a scam.

This is a REAL number from Chase. I called Chase and it is real and safe.

Never call back a number you do not know. If they reference an company you are dealing with call the number you have (ie the 800 # on your debit  or credit card). If it is valid they will know the number

SCAM!!!! I called back knowing it was a scam so I could scare them into thinking I was with the FBI coming to arrest them. Their first question was "what is your account number?" When you hear this, if you don't realize this is a scam, then you are a fool. Be suspicious of every single call, email, text, etc. asking you for information. This is the world we live in.

This IS a REAL call from Chase Fraud department. I had initiated a transfer via one of my business accounts and they didn't ask for any personal information other than the zip code (which is easy to get, so no scam there)

It was automated and knew the exact time, date and amount of my transfer and just asked for me to hit 1 to verify that I had initiated that transfer.

Not a scam.

Exactly the same with me. Called Chase and they have no reference to this number. They advised not to call back.
