    Dumb [***]
Got a call from them claiming they were Hp technicians and allowed them into my computer. They said a hacker (not him) took over my computer. At that point the computer could not be accessed without know a password.  But for two $100 itunes card numbers, he will fix the problem. The computer is at a legit tech company. Hopefully they can fix it.

Just got a call from this number identified as "Toll Free Call."  Caller with heavy accent had my name and stated that he was with the Windows team and they had been getting error messages from my computer recently.  I immediately thought "scam, scam, scam" and hung up.

There is no way this number is a valid HP number.  If the person they call is an HP owner, and HP detected a problem, HP would not be calling not identifying themselves and/or leaving a message and reason why they are calling.  Call came in today at 6 PM. Caller hung up when answering machine came on; left no message.  Do NOT GIVE these scammers any information or permit them into your system.  The ironic thing is we have an old compaq, still works, that is not and never has been connected to the internet.  There is no way anyone else can determine whenever there is a problem that needs finding, only we, ourselves and us.  Complaint filed with Do Not Call Registry, FCC  FTC and local FBI offices.

There is a fraud going on right now  (9-27-2017).
First of all HP does not  call you to try to sell you support, I was told by the real HP management,  The management told me that they were spoofing their phone number ( (800) 474-6836)  I have been receiving seven calls a day when I pick up the line sometimes you get someone that is trying to sell you support ,  and sometimes it just hangs up by saying goodbye. do not give any credit card number or anything these people are fraud.

I got no less than 7 calls from this number today.  They started last month when I cancelled a HP Smart Friend contract.  HP would not cooperate and in order to cancel I had to cancel my credit card and have a new one issued; this was the bank's idea and it worked.  I believe that the Philipine call center got pissed and turned my number over to these phonies.

I didn't answer; no message left. If it is in fact HP, they are not calling me because I requested help. They're calling me to sell me on something, probably the ink they keep sending me emails about. Whether it's HP or not, it's still a telemarketing call that I in no way asked for, other than by buying products from them in past years.

I just received a call from Hewlett Packard with the number 1-800-474-6836. A woman with heavy accent and a lot of noise in background.  Told me HP wanted to refund my $50 service fee contract I had with them on my COMPUTER.  I do have a 1-year $50 service contract on my HP PRINTER.  She asked me if I was sitting at my computer to turn it on and she would refund my money directly into my bank account.  What is my bank account number.... give that number to her now.  I hung up immediately.  This is a scam caller.  Using HP number.  They want you to turn on your computer so they can refund money to you, but, by this time, they have probably downloaded Malware onto your computer and gained access into it. The HP COMPANY NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS SCAM.  It is real and happening every day.  How did they know I had a service contract with HP???  They assumed it was on my computer, when it is really on my printer.

I spoke to them once and they wanted access to my computer so they could refund me an overpayment I made. I disconnected the call as I thought it was a scam.  They still call me at least a dozen times since but I do not answer.

    Just some dude
I've received several phone calls from this number and I havent picked up.  This person has tried to contact me in the past and blew them off. Its always some Indian guy saying your computer has a virus or malware that is showing up on their system. First off, HP doesn't keep track of your computer unless your comp has the HP Support Assistant on your comp and you're paying for that service which is the only way they could.  Second, if you have a good antivirus and malware software to protect your comp then you shouldn't waste your time and losers like this. Lastly, this scam is similar to the one in which an Indian called you saying that they were from the IRS and THEY DEFINATELY NEVER CALL!!! The only send you mail corrispondence ONLY! HP NEVER CALLS UNLESS YOU CONTACT THEM PERSONALLY AND THE CALL BACK OR SEND YOU AN EMAIL TO HELP WITH YOUR ISSUES. Anyone who believes that this "person" calling is legit or states on these boards that it is legit, then they working with the scammer themselves. If you have computer issues contact a real legit tech like Geek Squad or an authorized tech subcontracted by a company like HP or Dell. The best way to spot the scammer is by asking him his real real first name and if they refuse and continue to give you the fake name then blow them off and hang up on them. That's what I did and it worked.

They will give you a virus
They say you have a virus and tell you to go on your computer. Do not do it. They will tell you to enter the info they give you but if you do they have full access to your computer and you will be locked out.
