I received a similar mailing recently (found this site by googling the mail permit number). Mine wishes me a happy birthday and offers "3-Day/2-Night Hilton Get-a-way to many Hilton properties located in the continental USA." The heading on my mailing is the Hilton logo and the bonus for calling within 48 hours is a $300 Walmart voucher. The number to call is 800-813-6994 with offer number PB007.  The back of the card says "Mark Licensing, INC., Mark Cards INC."

Looks like they're persistent and are continuing the scam. (I did not call the number.)

Got this same "In Honor of Your Birthday" notice a few days ago.  Besides the old "if it sounds too good to be true" axiom, I also noticed there was absolutely no indication of who the mailing was from.  Assumed it was bogus, and it is now in little pieces in the shredder bin.

They may be getting the birthday information from sites like Facebook.

January 22, 2009 - I just received a letter - printed on PX 353-1 Mark Licensing, Inc. paper - wishing me a Happy Birthday "In Honor of" 2 Rnd trip tickets  to any maj intnl airport anywhere in the continental USA + 3Day/2 Night getawat that can be used at hundres of Marriott prop's in the Cont USA, ALso a $75 GC to Walmart. And if I respond w/in 72 hrs I will receive a Savings Bucks book, also a $50. AmEx GC.
To find out how to claim my special gift call 1-800-507-5010 M-F 10 AM - 10 PM, Sat 10 AM - 3 PM  and then I am certain there is a reason they included the "Offer Number"  but the coupon expires 1/31/2009, and the back reads Certain restrictions apply *this promotion is not sponsored by or affiliated w/marriott or Walmart but they are a major supplier.

My husband received same notice. The "meeting" he agreed to go to is this Sat. a.m. He wants to go, I'd rather go to my 6 year old grandson's bb game. I belive it is a scam also. When he called, he was "GUARANTEED" that he would receive all of the offers. Has anyone actually attended any of these "meetings?" Thanks!

I got this in the mail, too, and my birthday isn't too far off, and it did have the AmEx card on it, and even an offer number . . . but the internet has made scams like this much easier to confirm; thanks all for posting.

Yes they are still at it.

The back of the mailer is labeled 'Mark'
Also Mark Licensing, Inc and Mark Cards Inc "Made in U.S.A."

I found no such cooperation & no hits on the Internet.

Funny to me that the con artists consider suckers as "Marks"

Glad I checked this site.....They changed their number, same offer but now they say to call 1-800-514-2493.  Also said they are afiliated with "White Birch vacations" which google could not find.  I called and the guy said it would cost $50 each ticket plus taxes and you have to listen to a 90 minute presentation.....I won't be showing up!!!  R4P8

Today received a nice invitation from Mark Licencing, inc, with US airways logo and Walmarts name on the letter, they offered $300.00 from Walmart Rebate Gift vouchers.

These folks need something to do, like looks through iron bars.

I just got a birthday card from Mark Licensing, Inc.  Thank you by the way it is going to be my birthday. Another scam.  If I had won the trips that I have said I won in the past year, I probably would have gone around the world by now.  Don't these idiots know we can look them up as we have in less than 30 seconds to find out what they are all about?. I hope someone does this to one of there family members and they get burned and left feeling bad and stupid.   I will be calling US Airlines to let them know about this.   Julie

I received one of these in the mail today too. It's from Mark Licensing, Inc, Mark Cards Inc. They have a new phone number though - 888-472-8026.

This mailing had Ultimate Vacations 125 E. Baker Street Suite 120 Costa Mesa CA 92626 on the back of the voucher.

But I feel gypped... I only got two roundtrip airfares on US AIRLINES and a THRIFTY rental car. No Walmart or American Express gift cards. Oh well...

Thanks guys!  I got my "Happy Birthday" and it looked so cheesy I decided to look up the "Mark Licensing" just to see what the scam was.  I'm glad I'm not the only one to do a bit of research before anything. even though I wasn't interested.  But on some level it works or they wouldn't keep doing it.

Thanks for the previous posts. They obviously change offers and numbers regularly but not the Permit number 3950.

They seemed to have another number 1-866-323-9130.
In honor of your birthday, we would like to give you a THREE DAY/TWO NIGHT Marriot Weekend Getaway....

Plus a $30 dinner for two...  (Fast Food I guess!)
    Plus $100 GAS Voucher

Logos for Red Lobster & Olive Garden. Yuck...

    Offer Number 2688

Maybe you get a Carmen Electra Curise to the Bahamas too? Who knows?

I just got mine for my birthday...figured...what the heck, let's see what they're offering!
Called, and I would get the voucher just for stopping by Direct Buy showroom. As an account manager for Direct Buy, I can tell you that I do not need the $300 that bad...

HOWEVER...I will tell you that if you do go to a Direct Buy showroom and they offer you a gift for going, you will get it. It is like when a hotel you are staying at offers you tickets to hear about their timeshare....you will get it even if you say no, but be strong around aggressive sales people.
Direct Buy is only worth it if you are redoing a kitchen or many rooms in your home with high-end products. You will save more than the membership, but if you are someone only looking for a rug in one room, or only need one bed...NOT worth it.
