i pick up the phone and "Mrs. Philips" said she wanted to speak to my mom about a personal business matter, i said she was not home so she told me to have her call back at 1 800 545 1256...

i could be totally wrong, but i just cant bring myself to believe that this is actually macy's.  as a macy's employee, i am constantly on the phone with credit services.  one reason i believe this is that the music playing in our stores is also the  hold music for credit services and it plays at the same time.  the music on their phone system just does not sound like the music at macys.  this seems like a scam to me.

Received call from 513-573-8739 with a phone message for "Sheila Pace" (not my name) about "an important business matter" the caller's name was "Mrs. Russell" and asked me to call back at 1-800-545-1256.  I'm so sick of this.

I have received voice messages from 800.545.1256 for someone who isn't me and I don't know. The whole "personal business matter" thing. I called them to tell them I'm not that person and stop calling me, and they said they were Macy's credit, and that they would (supposedly) remove my number from their system. It was a man with an East-Indian-sounding accent.

However, at the same time that I've received these voicemails, I've also had calls from 513.573.8739, with no message left. I called that number and again spoke to a man with an East-Indian-sounding accent. I again asked for my number to be removed, and he said he couldn't find my number in their system. That's a bunch of BS, because if they didn't have my number, they wouldn't be calling me!

I have spoken to a manager at a local Macy's store, and am waiting to hear back from her on whether the 513 number is indeed affiliated with Macy's.

Now, I DID used to have a Macy's account, but I hardly ever used it, and it was paid off and closed a while ago.

They go by this fake number 1-800-545-1256... and I looked it up.

This lady "Shaunece Butler" keeps calling and asking for my sister and I keep telling her my sister is not in right now and then she would give me this number to tell my sister to call her back 1800-545-1256. She calls the land line every evening. I was sick and tired so I decided to google this number and see what its all about and then stumbled upon this site. I had no idea it was macys and when did macys start harrassing people un-neccessarily. Now that I know who they are, thanks to this site, I will wait for them to call one more time and tell them off completely. My house is not a  "Customer Service"!!!!!

According to Macy's Customer Service, (the number can be found on the back of your Macy's card) the 545-1256 number is the collection agency for Macy's.  It just means your payment is past due.  It's NOT a scam!

I got a phone call with my full name. My grandfather picked up and he would not say his name or from where he was calling. He only left this number. Glad I checked into this matter. Looked at caller id area code 727 number.

This is FDS Bank, (Federated Dept Stores) they are the Macy's and Bloomingdales Call Center.  I should know, I work there.  

When we call its usually b/c of a missing payment, error on an account or a missapplied pymt and we need either info from you about your payment or permission to fix an error.  When you get a rep from India that's our HCL unit, they're a 3rd party we go through and they're not the brightest sort...I'll admit, but still...its NOT A SCAM, you're prolly just late on your bill.

This was legit for me.  I looked up Macy's credit services number (different toll free#), called them and settled the balance.  That way I did not have to give info to the callers.

Just received a called today at 10:47am (2/6/2009) from 513-398-5221 asking me to call 800-545-1256 ext. 38823 regarding a personal matter.  When I returned the call they said they were Macy's and ask for my account number.  When I refused to give my number I asked them to forward me to the extension above and they hung up on me immediately.  I too believe it's a scam.

They called MY number not my wifes and gave the same thing as other reported... I called my wife and she said her balance is fine... I called the number and it wanted CC number and last for of SS via the automatic system

I have not had a macy's account in over 5 years
kind of strange that they would call now
message left simply said, this is Macy please call regarding a personal matter

Call to place of employment, "Linda Dawson" for an employee, asked prying questions about when the person would be available, etc.
