- WowOk, after calling the OKC courthouse, they give me the number to Moore Municipal Court (405) 793-5040. They pulled up the case. It was in 2001. Like I would remember any information. Stated my son miss curfew. Call my son on his cell phone, while speaking with the county clerk to get some clarification. He stated that he and his father went to court and it was dismissed being he was at friends home in Moore at a party.
Clerk stated she didn't know this until she just view the case. They are mailing me information to show that being the case was dismissed. I am now dismissed from paying a fee (Not appearing) from 10 years ago.
The clerk was kind, and took the time to locate the information I needed. The Clerk also informed me that Moore didn't have the manpower to locate people to send the letters to so they hired the creditor and that CFI Number is the Creditor Number to show which company they belong to.
Shaking my head...Good thing I called to find out what was going on. Hate to get pulled over and taking to jail for a misunderstanding. I will be making copies once it arrives to keep in my car..Just In Case... LOL
On the level, you should call to make sure your clear. It could just be a misunderstanding.- Caller: CFI #279999
- Another Response replies to Whatever| 1 replySome cities are warrants, and some aren't just depends on their jurisdiction. They collect warrants but they still don't fall under debt collection practices act, because it is NOT consumer debt. Tickets will always be owed and will always catch up with you sooner or later. Keep running or pay your tickets like every other citizen.
- The Collection Lady replies to CsPlease tell me how it is immoral to ask someone to pay their tickets??? Thy committed the offense not the company???? I think you have a disorder.....hmmmm....think about it.
- umm yeahhh replies to notstupidYou challenge me? Oh my... if you are a "gainfully employed" person then why are YOU on this forum? Get a life. ALL of you people have no idea what you are talking about. It's not a scam why don't you call the actual City in question before going online and believing random people who have nothing better to do than to blog about people who call them. Do you believe everything you read online? And who are you to judge my credit score? And news flash dumb ass, Municipal Debts cannot affect your credit score. So before you go blabbing about a business you know nothing about you may want to check the facts.

- Starchild replies to Another ResponseWould you pay for this???
About 3-4 years ago my son, Sean, accompanied his friend down to Texas as a favor for his friend’s parents to pick up his brother at a college down there. They took his friend’s parent’s car. We live in WI. While on the way home driving through the town of Caney, OK my son was driving, they were taking turns, when he was stopped by a sheriff. My son had done nothing wrong and the sheriff gave them no real reason why he stopped them, but proceeded to spend about 30 minutes interrogating them, searching the car and them and accusing them of having drugs, alcohol, pot, etc., which they did not. After failing to find anything, he noted my son’s friend’s parents had no proof of insurance. At that time, there was no mandatory law in WI for auto insurance. He gave my son a citation and said if the court in Caney didn’t get the proof of insurance within 10 day or so that he would be forced to pay a fine of $300. When they arrived home his friend’s parent sent in the proof of insurance, or so they said; however my son has been continually harassed by these people ever since. He has gotten in touch with his friend several times, who since joined the Navy, who swears they sent in the proof of insurance. I believe him. He’s a very nice young man Sean has known since 8th grade. Sean is 22 now. Every time he has to go in to the DMV they bring this up and tell him initially they cannot renew or give him a driver’s license but after investigating it they end up renewing, etc. My son does not own a car and he never has. He drives an old car of mine. My son has tried everything. He has called the courthouse in Caney and spoke with them and tried to reason with them, he has tried getting in touch with his friend’s dad, etc. several times and cannot reach him. We don’t even know if he still owns the car or has the proof of insurance anymore. All this after my son did nothing wrong. I just got another one of these letters in the mail again the other day. They have now raised the fine to $375. My son is not living at home anymore. He’s living in MN. I dread telling him every time I get one of these letters because I know how much it stresses him out. The last time I talked with him it sounded like he had resolved it with the court in Caney, he said he got them to lower it and he was going to just pay it off just so he didn’t have to deal with it anymore, but I never followed up with him on it. I hate to call him now and tell him I got another one.
Any advice at all would be appreciated. - 1kamligirl replies to Filing Suit!!!| 1 replyI rec'vd a letter today stating that there was a warrant for my arrest for a 'fine & court cost'. No infomation, or dates. Only the name of a Louisiana Town, that apparently has relocated to Texas...Hmmm, I havent been south in 10 years and when I was, I NEVER so much as had a ticket. Reason I'm mentioning this is because the po box you listed is the exact same one as mine. the only difference being that it is addressed to the Town Of Amite . My spouse is a very good fraud investigator and it will be handled correctly.
- bayou| 1 replyWhen/if you call, ask for Gregory Pitchford or Lawrence Bergman. They are the company directored. Advise them of of the Interstate Collection Act & that they are in violation of Misrepretation of Full Disclosure of Company Identification. They are also in Federal violation by representing themselves a a legal entity with the power of criminal arrest & prosecutions. THIS IS PUBLIC INFORMATION. I AM NOT A LAWYER OR GIVING LAW ADVISE. I AM SIMPLY ONE OF THE PEOPLE THAT THEY THREATENED.

- see the thing is replies to bayouYou people have no idea what you are talking about. MUNICIPAL DEBT (I.E. Tickets/ warrants) DO NOT FALL UNDER FDCPA LAWS!! There fore there is no such thing as "misrepresentation" they clearly state that they work on BEHALF of cities. And no where on the notice does it state that they are the city or a leagal agency. Do all the invesitgation you would like, but you will come up empty handed. All the information that this company has, comes DIRECTLY from the court. All notices that are sent are APPROVED by the court that they work for. May wanna check the facts.

What a joke. Do they really think that people will adhere to their scams and pay to them the money that is stated on this fraudulent piece of paper. I am going to scan this false notice and email it to the Police Dept of Carrollton, Texas and let them handle these thieves Hope they go to jail and never get out.
