- Randy replies to KIt's not illegal to call someone on the do not call list if they are currently a customer of yours, or have in the past 18 months done business with you.
If it's your bank, and they are trying to reach you on the phone number you provided them in order to give you information about your accounts, it may be wise to consider answering them. If for instance, they are calling to confirm that you made debit card purchases in 12 states over the last 3 days, and you have, you may want to confirm it before they lock out your card as a precaution. - MarI got a phone call from this number about 7:30 this evening. I let my machine answer it . No message was lewft
- Caller: unknown
- Reporting ItThis is Citizens bank. It is a 5 minute customer survey for a recent transaction. No personal information was asked.
- Caller: Citizens Bank
- Call type: Survey
- Ann OnymousThis is a SCAM! They call you late several times hoping you'll *69 them. When you do they answer the phone as Citizens Bank and ask you the usual security questions including your bank account number!!! Hang up and don"t give it to them!
- Caller: Not Citizens Bank
- NH| 1 replyI called and got the usual CB menu that you get when calling to make inquiries about your account. it sounded legit, but I recommend not answering any 800, 866, 877, or 888 calls.
- Caller: Citizens Bank
- Anon in NH replies to NHI agree - never answer 800, 866, 877 or 888 numbers.
I called and also got back the menu, but they also wanted me to know they have new, no-fee ATMs at Cumberland Farms.
You must also be careful about ATMs to make sure they have not been tampered with. - abcIf this is legit, they would have left a message.
I notice that Citizen bank web site been asking for personal information every time you log on. which it had never done before, I think they know something is not right out there. - jackgot a call from them today - 11.2.10.
They said they were Charter One and wanted to know how my level of service has been. satisfied, not satisfied, very satisfied, etc. I said everything was great and that was it. They said thank you and we were done.
Seemed legit to me.- Caller: Charter One
- Call type: Survey
- BC replies to NHCitizens may be the parent bank. I didn't think that I had an account with them, but I realized they bought Charter One Bank, who I do have an account through. Got a call from this number, but didn't answer. Just googled the number and found this page. Eh. If my debit card stops working I'll call em. until then, not answering.
- JeanaMI believe that the call is legit since I have a Citizens Bank account and have not activated my new ATM card. I called the number back and got a customer service type answering message to press numbers depending on my inquiry.
- kmacmissed this call and no message left. i always say that if they dont leave a message it must not be important
- Anonymyes, they keep calling, and calling, and calling - sick of it already!!!! how do I get them to stop bugging me???
- blahh| 1 replyI'm not even a member of citizen bank and I keep getting phone calls.
- steelblue48310 replies to blahhThis is a Phishing scam... Any savvy VOIP admin can make their outbound calls show up as any number they wish, and in this case they are using a number they THEY KNOW is not in service....
They hope to actually get a Citizens Bank customer on the line that will "confirm" the account number to these criminals... which then then use to steal your $$$
If you have any way to block this number, DO SO ASAP!! - concerned| 1 replyI didn't answer but i called back and it just sounds fishy i don't have a citizens account i have a charter one i know that they r gonna change to citizens. But i have not recieved a letter in the mail so i ain't even gonna call back they always just send a letter and explain there not call me. I hate scammers....
- Caller: Citizens
- aurora replies to concernedI got a call from this number too yesterday with no message left on my cell phone. I called it back and got the Citizens bank recorded message. I just hung up on it. When I got home, I checked my account online and everything seems fine. What bank calls on a Saturday afternoon? I will check with the bank in person tomorrow just to make sure it wasn't anything important.
- rachel replies to joeI have had people call me asking why I am calling them when I am not. There is a way to scam people these days by hiding where the call is actually coming from and making it look like its coming from whatever phone number they want. Citizen's may have verified that the phone number is legit, but in the way that you get scam email from a friends email that they didn't send, you are getting a call from from someone disgusing their real number.
- LLThis number has called me at least 3 times today on my cell phone. I haven't answered any of the calls and they don't leave a message.
- SketchedOut| 1 replyI have received 6 phone calls in the past three days and not one time did they leave a voice-mail. I contacted Citizens Bank by the phone number listed on my bank statements and the woman informed me that there was no issue with my account and she would add my cell phone number to the 'Do Not Call' list for marketing reasons. So if the phone calls do continue it is definitely not Citizens Bank trying to contact me. Everyone needs to be aware of the information they provide, there are a lot of skeezy people out there!
- Caller: "Citizens Bank"
- SketchedOut replies to SketchedOutJust received yet ANOTHER call and someone actually replied this time. He was inquiring if I would like to participate in a quick survey. I informed him I had talked with Citizens Bank earlier and had asked to be put on a do not call list because of all the phone calls, he apologized and said he would also add my number to a do not call list. Although he seemed like a polite man, 3 phone calls within 6 hours for a [***] survey is slightly ridiculous!
