I just got a call from this number, my first time. Some sort of survey that "will only take 30 seconds". The recording says they're calling from Gatineau, QB. I hung up and didn't listen to the rest.

Auto dialer call telling me they wanted me to take a short 1 question survey, and offering to provide details on how to get reimbursed for my cell phone time. Since last time I checked (this morning) it is still illegal for telemarketers to use auto-dialers to call your cell phone, and legitimate telemarketers know this. Warning Flag! Scam Alert!
Yes, I believe it was from Quebec.

I didn't picked up the call. Left something on my voice mail. When I check it is an auto dialer calling for a survey. Spammer!

Got a call from 800-672-2813.  Automated message survey that "will only take 30 seconds". Asked one question, "Do you have a land line at home that is not a cell phone".  The recording says they're calling from Gatineau, QB.  If I wanted reimbursement for the cell phone call, I could send the request to the Gatineau address and they would send me one dollar.  I it cost more I would have to send them a copy of the phone bill.  My guess is that by offering a reimbursement, they can get around the law against spamming cell phones.

Got a call on my cell around noon from this number but I didn't answer

call them back .. free call from any payphone, or use a phone with # blocked .. spam them right back. it asks for you to input your number .. type anything random, just 10 digits long

I also had this number call my CELL while I was in the basement - by the time I got upstairs the ringing stopped and no message was left.

I have an unlisted number for a REASON - I do  NOT want ANYONE to call my number (home or cell) unless I KNOW who they are!

On my HOME phone I can block all numbers that I do not know, but can not do this with my cell.

We do not want to answer surveys - stop calling us at random!!!!

By doing so, you now leave them (ASDE above or whatever entity they are or represent...) and others a valid number thay can access. (ie. they can SELL this DNC number to others "others "outside the jurisdiction of Canada" and voila,,,you get even more calls...)
Any entity outside of Canada will not face prosecution- period. - long feeble arm of the Canadian Law cannot reach or touch them.

It's an autodialer and one of the few that leaves a voicemail.

i did not answer nor did they leave a message

If you don't know the number - simply don't answer it. But I pose this to all who are complaining - should it be an emergency and one of your family members needs your help- or the hospital to tell you that someone you love is there and is dying - would you answer it? Of course. Same applies - you just never know.

Come on people - it's just a phone call. It may be irratating, but it's not life changing.

This isn't to anyone in particluar - but to all who think their life is too important.
