If their real numbers were to get onto competitors' DNC lists, that would suck.  Why, they'd get calls all day from international spammers -- and they couldn't stop it.  So I recommend we don't consider this unless it's in our dreams.

My old cell phone has no 'null' ringtone.  My new one will.  The default ringtone will be one that makes no noise and for which the phone will not vibrate, and everyone actually in my address book gets a ringtone I can hear or feel.  If someone calls me, these days, and it's someone not in my address book, 99% of the time it's a telespammer.   The rest of the time they'll also email me ...

... for they can't leave a message when I've demanded my calls never go to voicemail.

That ONE question... I get the DISTINCT feeling that the information will be sold out to a company (rogers/telus/distributel/bell/etc) in regards to if I have a land line or not.  Anyways...  Still considered spam, unwanted calls, and I suspect that the "do not call" lists have/are being sold.

I used to work in the telephone survey/research industry: it's worse than telemarketing.  At least with a "legit" telemarketer you have the opportunity to enter into an economic exchange if it so benefits you.

With surveys, they call you up, get your information, then sell it--it's theft.  It's that simple.

One time we called numbers provided by a phone company, and were instructed to lie and say the numbers were randomly generated.

These survey companies do the odd political opinion poll to get their name on the news, so when they call you recognize the company's name and take part.

I could go on...

I received a call from this number in the last 10 minutes, but I did not know who it came from. It was a message record as a survey. It was weird.

Received a call on my cell phone July 27th, 2011 at12:23pm (located near North Battleford, SK).  I did not answer my phone, and they did not leave a message.  I called them back the next day, and the machine told me that they are from ASDE, giving an option to put myself on the DNC list.

I hope I did not open a can of worms by adding myself to the list...

When you call cell phones that cost me air time for something I did not request, and  do not want, that is not transparency, that is consumer abuse.

My mobile number is not listed anywhere for a reason, and I got rid of my land line for the same reason....to avoid this kind of stuff.

And you can say it's "legal" all you want, but I will complain to the CRTC and advise everyone on this board to do the same.  The agency takes consumer complaints seriously.

This number called me today. I didn't answer and have no idea how they got my phone number. I have a Rogers phone.

I recieved it today on a government cell phone. Definitely illegal marketting. They wanted me to answer the 1 question survey about whether I use a cellphone as a home phone or not. I hung up. This number 18006722813 better stop it or they will be pursued.

Just call their 1-888 number from page one of this thread and tell them to be put on the 'internal no-call list'.

I just had this number call my cell today at 11:09 A.M. as well...didn't answer, as I was in a meeting :-)
