- Poolguy replies to Curly SueOh-vey,, I figured it was them. Working from home now a few days a week and totally forgot about my minutes until $440 later (last month),,,, I'll catch up in another month and use my home number from now on to call into the meetings or to my customers. Until then,,, "Hey, I don't recognize this number? I'm not answering it!" And hope I have service the next day when I wake up.
- Jessica| 1 replyThis is NOT a scam, this is Verizon Wireless, they are calling because you are past due on your bill. Whenever I am a few days late I get phone call non stop from this number every day. Once I pay it the calls stop.
- Caller: Verizon Wireless
- Call type: Debt collector
- MSCIt's Verizon Wireless trying to collect a past due balance! It's legit!!
- Caller: Verizon Wireless
- Call type: Debt collector
- Lora replies to CawaianIt is too verizon financial....half wit....they probably use phone banks for their systems...so it's not like the person you get on the phone would know what numbers are their's. You would have to get their tech depts. for that.....just pay your dang bill....and magically....the number will stop calling you. It's possible the paranoia will go away as well.
- Obaney replies to pad| 1 replyThen i would suggest using a caller ID announcing that it is in fact Verizon. I will never answer an 800 number! Too many scams out there.
- Jdawg replies to ObaneyThey used to have a number that was identifiable but they did some research and found out that people answer more often when they don't know the number. It is legit number, they people usually aren't mean just trying to get you to pay your bill. They'll help you with payment arrangements and stuff just work with them bc the reconnect fees are ridiculous
- Pablo replies to CawaianI just got call from this number
Thanks for the info. - Joe replies to Canton ResidentYeah...it happens to everyone who's late or goes over their braodband limit, even a little. They call over and over again even after you're paid up, and you can check online. They don't take you off the call list ro warning list for weeks after...they need to learn how to end it when you're paid up.
- kwhatley(800) 754-0961
I have the number blocked on my phone.
I seriously doubt that it is Verizon as the caller id show up as: *ss *ss (replace the * with the letter "a"). I kid you not.- Call type: Telemarketer
- kwhatley replies to Jessicaif it's legit why does the caller id on the missed call show up as: *ss *ss (replace the "*" with the letter "a")
- Jenny replies to NedThanks so much for your information on the fax number ... I just faxed off my request!!!!
Let's see if they can read???? - JeffI received a call from this number as well, but they left no message. I am, however, a Verizon wireless customer, and my account is a few days past due.... so I'm not sure if this is legit or not. Regardless, I'm just made my payment on-line and disregarding the call.
- celI don't think its a scam because they always call when my bill is due and ask for my husband by name (althought I don't know why they call MY number instead of his which is the primary)...if it raises red flags for you just ignore it and pay your bill like you normally do.
- Caller: Verizon
- the queenI several calls from this number- no messages were left
- Caller: unknown
- jaredI use that number to schedule my payment when its gonna be late or when its Abt to get shut of it is not a scam.
- Caller: verizon financial services
- Call type: Debt collector
- tlm167got a call from this number. i know everyone says it's verizon....but I've never had a verizon account
- Tom KThis number calls me and when I answer there isn't a single sound. They call at least 3 times a day. I'm not behind on my bill or anything,
- Broke TooIt is VERIZON - sort of. VERIZON like many large companies, in a cost cutting measure has farmed out their collections activities to third party companies, who in many cases can be VERY aggressive, since they earn a %age off the amounts they collect. Don't bother calling VERIZON to complain, the dissatisfaction is just a cost of business for them, even with complaints & customers switching carriers, it is still cheaper for them to pay SOMEONE ELSE to call on & collect from delinquent accounts. They will call from multiple different locations/cities/phone #'s in one day since it works on a phone bank Que system, a worker in a call center's computer automatically dials the next delinquent phone # & if gets a live body the call center rep picks up, if not, it calls the next # on their list. Pay by web or in store only, really the only safe way anymore, even if they 'turn' you off you will still be able to RECEIVE calls & make texts in & out on your phone for a while before they totally shut it off for lack of payment.
- Caller: VERIZON - sort of ...
- Call type: Debt collector
- Dave replies to Tony W| 1 replyThis is NOT verizon. It is a great copy/scam/ Dial *611 to get customer service via the internal system and ask....they will confirm is IS A SCAM......
- Dave replies to Daveor if it is legit...someone should tell the verizon reps about it.
