Received a call from this number which is an IRS assist line phone number and let it go to voice mail;  the caller identified himself as Officer Robert Patrick with the Text Crime Investigation Unit of the IRS - Internal Revenue Service and requested I call him back at 571-402-0222 regarding a legal matter stating if I did not it would go badly for me.   I have already reported this type of call once but they were calling from 202-864-1258 and wanted me to call back to the same number.  I don't owe the IRS anything and have received nothing in writing so I know this is a scam.  Wish they would catch these guys.

Just got call from this no and talking in Indian language and speaking bad words , call on landline no is time. It's scam , crazy fellow.dont answer or reply.

We are getting phone calls from 800-829-1040 at all times of the day and as late as 9:00 p.m. on the weekends. We never answer calls unless we recognize the number. When you search this number it shows up as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Read this post and decided when they called back 2day to answer it and mess with them. Well it got interesting, said they were seizing my assets, arresting me and a bunch of other stuff. I told him my husband was a cop so we would know if I had a warrant. To make a long story short after I called him out and told him I recorded the whole conversation he actually told me he was going to kick my

got the same call said they were from the irs so I tld them they were fuu of [***] and they hung up

     This bozo can kiss my anal orifice, IRS my foot ! wants me to call 509 473 0827 I wish I could reach out and touch him through my phone ! assbite

I got a massages 3 times today from Bryant Smith Tel. # 800-829-1040 from IRS Depart.saying about the law suit, warrant arrest, non bailable offense because of the taxes I owed and also asking important information about my SS Number, DOB etc.

Received call today claiming from irs

received a call from this number this morning.  I know for a fact that IRS does not contact you by phone,  They do their correspondence via First Class mail.  

I got calls from this number 18008291040 everyday. It started last week 10/02/2014, I answered the call and
got weird sound. I heard a guy talking but could not understand him because it sounds garbled, like underground.
I called back and it was an automated answering system from IRS where it will let you choose what help you need.
You cannot even talk to a live person at that number. Is this a scam? Where should I report it?

I got calls from this number everyday too. I called back and it was IRS automated answering system.
How could these scammers get that IRS number appearing on my caller ID? This is weird and very
scary. Is it inside job?

Someone called me at 8:41 AM on Friday October 10th and the caller ID indicates 800 829 1040.  The caller identified himself as being from the IRS and correctly pronounced my first name but incorrectly pronounced my last name.  He then went on to say something (perhaps he was reading a script) and I told him I couldn't understand a word he was saying.  At that point he said something about having me speak to a supervisor.  I asked if I should hold or if someone else was going to call me back.

He indicated I should hold and I was shortly connected with someone else who I couldn't understand any better than first guy.  When I again requested to speak with someone who spoke American English, the phone went dead.

P.S.  I just remembered one other point ... when I was connected with the supervisor he first asked me "how can I help you?" to which I reply with something like "I have no idea ... you called me".

I recived a call from 8008291040, telling me he was with the IRS. I've had my REAL run ins withe IRS and I assure you this is a bunch of BS. I'm looking forward to waiting some of their  time once they try and call back.

Two calls this morning.  Let voice-mail pick up.  Caller was confused and didn't leave message, but his sounds indicate foreigh accent and bad reception (sounded like calling from inside a tunnel).

Figure it is scam.

8008291040 got a call from some foreign accent female on my voice mail about charges going to be filed against me if I don't respond and have an atterney to represent me to call some number that I couldn't understand.    

I just got the call, they make it sound so real, There two two guys with heavy mid-east/indian accent.

One of the guy says his name is Daniel Cullen. They asks me to go get the cash and them pays them to a store - where they will provide a voucher.....Don't listen to them, they are scam!!!

I stopped talking to them after i realize this is scam and they call me back more than 10 times using different nubmers, listed in below:

Person called, said they are from the IRS regarding criminal charges of tax fraud, that an arrest warrant has been issued on my unless I call today. Calling the IRS now to report it. Said to call 571/292-8453.
