Claims to be the IRS...hung up it's a scam. Do yourself a favor and get a pin from the IRS. It will protect you. They will only contact by mail. The government is aware of this scam.

I love screwing with these people.  I gave them TOTALLY FAKE information and they swallow it.

7-19-16 i got a call today from this number and the original caller said he would transfer me to his senior leader and each of them provided ID numbers and gave me a case number, sounding quite cinvincing. DO NOT TALK TO THESE FOLKS!  If you have older parents grand parents please warn them to not talk with them. I can understand how older adults fall for these scams. I almost did until my coworker told me and i don't owe taxes nor am i a senior. These foreigners are convincing  and great scammers! Protect yourselves!

I received a phone call announcing it is the IRS and for me to call back immediately.  320-380-5378.  I don't think the IRS would call with an automated voice or call at all. So I havent called back and will not until I hear from you. Can you help me know what to do?  Thank you

Got a call from man with Indian accent saying he had a crush on me

I hung up on the guy he called me 2 times first time it disconnected

I received  several phone calls from two different people claiming to be from the IRS. They wanted a returned call to the following numbers: 717-689-4316 and 206-905-1590. I called the second number listed and when I inquired about how I know this is the IRS,  he gave me this number 1-800-829-1040. I questioned if this was a scam, he stated he did not appreciated my questioning the call. He then hung up on me. He called back immediately and stated he didn't appreciate my questioning and stated I could wait for the police and again hung up on me.

Stated I was being sued for back taxes. When I told them I would have them contact my Accountant they read off a script. Told them I was at work and would look up the IRS number on line directly and was told to call this number back.

I received a call from this number and he said that he is calling from the IRS and there is a law suit against me and so he gave me his badge number and federal id number which is 48-11 (never seen a federal id # this short) once I told him to wait I am putting his information online click his gone. Do not ever fall for this scammers and their tricks.

just got a call from 800-829-1040 and was a bit nervous, but after checking with my co-worker is a fraud call.  Please don't give out any information.  I subsequently received a call from 718-776-9090 asking me where I am and that they have an arrest for me.  The callers are all Indian accent.  Very disgracing.

Caller said they are IRS and within 1hrs they will arrest me ... For what?? HaHa

The caller, obviously calling from India, said that I owe taxes to the IRS and that if I didn't cooperate with them, the IRS would file a lawsuit against me. I urged them to do so, and told him I'd see them in court. It's a total scam.

Call from this number, 800-829-1040.  Hard to hear man but had heavy accent. Told him wrong number and he hung up.

I got the same Scam phone call from this number, which is the same number with  the actual IRS service number. They also called from Caller ID 562-716-7014. The man said his name was Leo Hammehh from IRS.
They told me I would have a lowsuit and if I did not pay $11,000 to them, Police was coming within 24 hours.....IRS knows it.
You report to the real IRS 800-366-4483 if you got the call.

The called informing me of taking me to jail and to purchase an I-tune card to demand monies.

This number called following-up after I confronted the caller only seconds before on 570-401-7164. Same guy! The 800 number seems to be programmed some how to appear as an actual number to reach IRS, online as well as when called. Note that the caller does not address the person who answers by name. When asked they did say something similar to my first name, stumbling with it through a heavy accent, but not my surname.  So tell me how any tax questions could be addressed, not to mention that they claim this is my last warning before being prosecuted! Our home number is a relatively new land line so no one IRS would have access to it and I do not recall any notation of home telephone numbers being requested on my return, ever...I do not even file individually! Also,there are multiple filers of tax returns in this home. I had similar calls last year and am on the do not call list already but this is so invasive! I have elderly neighbors preyed upon by these scams! Yesterday, I had a call from someone that sounded very similar to this guy (I didn't record the number they called from) but this person said they were from Microsoft, and that my computer was transmitting dangerous errors!  Oh come on-really!  I investigated the IRS scam prior and was reassured  by the actual IRS that they NEVER try to call anyone. Any concern will be sent via registered mail.

Got a call from this number and they could hardly speak English and asked for 1 name, no first names. I asked who and they hung up.

got this call at 7:30 a.m.. this made the second time in two days. The first was threatened to take legal action and their would be police to pick me up if there was not a response to make this right. The voice was of  middle east  Asian accent , hard to understand.
