A voice message was left identifying themselves as Kevin Mason from the US Treasury.  He said ignoring the phone call was a federal offense and that there was a possibility of  having to appear in front of a magistrate court and jury. He advised ..press 1 to speak to a attorney or press 2 for legal charges.  Bogus baloney call.

Always report these IRS scam numbers to the complaint hotline 800-366-4484 or treasury.gov/tigta. It helps them track down and shut down the scam numbers, plus adds to their collection of evidence against the perpetrators.

I just got a call from these people...it actually made me laugh. They gave me the option to press 1 to talk to a fraud lawyer or 2 to face criminal charges!!! I kept it on the recorder. If the IRS really wanted us they would send paper first. Ugh...

I not only got a call from this number but also from 626-429-6566. They both claim to be from the IRS. THANK YOU.  I am going to report them right now.

Just received a call from this number and they hung up. I call number back and they connect me to the IRS.

Where do i reporrt them

I am recieving calls from this number, saying they are the irs, and i am going to be arrested. They have lawyers on staff who will speak to me in regards to my back taxes. I have no back taxes, they don't even have my name

My phone showed the 1040 number . It rang once and went away. It logged it as IRS.

Some guy called me from 800-829-1040 he had a deep Indian accent and claimed I owed taxes. Then he said if ignore his call he would arrest me. It was a prank!!!

these clowns have called me a least two times its a scam for these bums have call and want money. I know its a scam and I hung up on these goons.

Caller claimed I was facing charges by IRS and to call back to avoid legal charges.  caller was a man. the call came at 7:59 am Aug. 30.
Recepients of such calls should note that IRS does not normally call people by phone for such matters, and certaimnly not that early in the morning. The caller sounded foreign, probably with an Indian accent.

Have numerous phone calls from this number. Never leaves a message.. caller ID shows Internal Revenue Service.

Caller ID says US internal Rev.  No caller.

Call came this Am at 8:45 from that no. Answered to a very heavy Indian accent telling me the IRS was going to take legal action against us anf that I should speak to a lawyer . I hung up

this is a blown out scam of the worst kind.  These people are like fleas. They keep calling. They tell you they are from the IRS and give a false id numbers then want you to give them $3854 and not tell anyone. If you do not comply you are going to be spending 48hours in jail and loose everything.
