Report a phone call from 800-955-6600 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- JenThey kept calling during the day when I'm at work. The lady on the phone sounds like a saleswomen or something. I just told her she got the wrong number and said buhbay. Yikes!
- not happyI have been getting dozens of calls from this number on my home phone. It may be a legitimate number, but the problem is that we do not even have a credit card from this company or an account with them. They should not be calling my phone, but will not stop. We have tried to get them to quit calling and they will not. I guess they just do not believe us when we tell them that it is the wrong number or they just don't care. Thank goodness for caller ID.
- GeorgeThis number actually belongs to Capital One. However, it is being spoofed by a an ID theft ring. This number shows on the caller ID but the people on the line are not Capital One. They just want to harvest your credit card and identity information.
Don't fall for it.- Caller: Capital One
- BenCalled me too.
- pissed off!The call my cell phone before 7am est and up to after 10pm non stop but there is no answer aand they don't leave a message and my account is up top date!!!!!
- disgusted in CaliforniaThis number called me 3 times in the span of 2 hours, no messages ever left. I sent a text after the second call to tell them to stop calling this number, on the do no call list, and any further calls would be reported to the FCC. I received another call within 45 minutes. I have reported them to the FCC as of today. I even have voice mail that says this phone is on the do not call list and any calls received in violation will be reported. So, reported. I refuse to be harassed by idiots who don't adhere to the law.
- Caller: unknown
- tulsanThe person on the line told my wife that it was First Captial (not capital one) and asked for CC#s etc. Then told her to have me call 1-800-955-6600 which was a recording and asked for CC#... This definitely sounds like a SCAM
- UpNorthGot two calls from them today, one from the 955 #, the other from a 929#. No one on the phone, they did leave a message the last time, no one there, but it sounded like a boiler room call, many voices in the background. I agree, it seems like a phishing scam.
- jkI got a call from this number this morning (Sunday of all days). The caller ID just has "toll free call". Now that I know that it is Capital One, I will not answer. I do not have a Capital One account anymore. I closed mine out probably 15 or 20 years ago.
- Caller: Been told it is Capital One CC
- AnnoyedThey've called twice today for my husband. They gave me a number to give him (800-955-7070). They identified themselves at Capital One both times and the second time, she assured me there was no problem with his account.
- Caller: identified as Capital One twice
- CindyI have a capital one card, I have never missed a payment, I am not overlimit and I am not interested in a new card! Yet they call 3 to 7 times a day, and even on a Sunday?? This is rediculous! This is no way to treat a good customer! I'm seriously considering cancelling my card. I officially don't like capital one. I've also had this card for nearly 10 years!
- BillThese idiots from Capital One need to stop calling my number and asking for the person who used to have this number. I recently changed my cell number and I have been "harrased" from some idiot in India telling me I owe them money!!!!!!!!!!!! I cancelled my Capital One card a year ago because "you can't fix stupid people like this". They need to hire people who LISTEN WHEN YOU TELL THEM THIS PERSON NO LONGER HAS THIS CELL NUMBER!!!!!!! Wake up you stupid people, I have told all my friends to cancel there accounts with Capital One, 25 so far, get a clue.
- PhillyDon't trust this number!
I have been getting these calls on my pre-paid cellphone and I don't have any business with Capital One at all! - L WilsonI have received these calls on my cell all hours of the day. I don't answer 800 #s on my cell because of identity theft, but I found out the number was linked to Capital One and I call the number on the back of my card and opted out of the call program. They should no longer be contacting be via cell phone.
- Caller: Capital One
- JOSHOk people, just to let you know.. Just found out many home phone carriers, mostly cable phones, have free call blocking.. I found the answer off this way off site. then I called my carrier, Suddenlink, and found they had call blocking.. I mean it sucks they only give you 12 numbers free to block, but hey, its stopped some calls for sure.. They also allowed me to have unlimited call blocking to all calls which come up as unknown caller or blocked etc. which is cool cus' i get quite a few of those too.. I hope this helps someone out there desperately looking for answers and helps you sleep this weekend when they are frigging' calling at all hours and early in the AM..
I alos found a few gadgets you can buy online that block calls.. I found through a little research that the ones that claim to block telemarketers just send out a signal to their system to let them think your lines disconnected and in theory should remove you from their list. But that's NOT going to help some of these calls like this one here. The do not call list is free and will work for the marketers too, don t pay for the device.. BUT there are a couple out there that you can block something like up to 250 numbers or something..
I found this one, and no this is NOT an endorsement of this company. I jsut found it today looking for other options..
http://www.privacycorps.com/pages/phone-number-block.htm
Looks like it will take a minute to learn, but in all looks like it has a lot of options..
And for those of you unaware of the do not call list provided by your government, this is for you too:
https://www.donotcall.gov/
We will win this war on stupid callers.. And MAN would i hate having their job, could you imagine?
Good luck people!!
PEACE- Caller: NOT PROVIDED
- LouieI get called by this number many times but I ignore it and do not answer. If it was a legit caller (i.e. CapitalOne), they would leave you a voice mail.
- MARZDidn't answer call because it said Capital One. I don't have a Credit Card with them so figured I didn't need to talk to them. Came here next so glad I didn't answer. Never will now. Thanks!
- LoriI get calls from this number all day long! They sometimes leave a message saying, "This is Linda from Capital One. We have exciting offers for you! Please call today." I also get calls from other numbers such as:
(866) 929-5306; (757) 483-4840; (800) 955-6600 (215) 977-7223. This is VERY annoying considering I don't have any Capital One credit cards or accounts and I never will!! They keep saying they will remove my number and they don't and they refuse to let me talk to a manager.- Caller: Capital One
- VickyThey are calling my cell phone for someone else. I have told them my name and to stop calling but two weeks later and I'm receiving several calls a day. I am going to try and get an address to send the following letter to them. Hope it works.
