800-955-6600

This number calls my house five or more times a day and never does it leave a message or does anyone answer when I pick up the phone. What can I do?

They called at my home but they never left a message at all. And no, I don't have a Capital One card at all.

I'm 16 without any Capital One memberships, and I get about 4-5 calls a day from this number. As well as the other two numbers, I ignore the call every time. I figure if I ignore the call it will stop eventually.

The 800-955-6600 does indeed belong to Capital One... HOWEVER... the calls are generated by non-Capital one pranksters trying to hurt Capital One's name.  They will call from all different area codes, saying their name is Linda and to call the 800# for a special offer.  They do this to annoy the customer, in hopes they will cancel their Capital One out of phonecall frustration.  But the calls won't stop even if you do cancel.  It's not Capital One's fault, it's idiot prank kids, and they will see their day in court.  Call Capital One directly and report the area code and phone number if your CallerID captured it to help them in tracking the fraudsters.  

And remember.. NEVER give out personal information to somebody who calls you.  Instead, hang up and call Capital One directly.

Calling me on cell phone asking for Cal..

Numerous call asking for former phone number owner. Did a little detective work and provided them with the persons new phone number. Capital One collections.

They started calling my cell number which is on the do not call list.They do not leave a message.

out of the blue I am receiving calls from them. They called about 5 times yesterday and kept interrupting my family dinner. On a SUNDAY. Come on people.

This isn't the only number from Capital One that keeps calling me. Once I block one number, they call me with another. I don't even have an account with them!!!!

Not true I do not now nor have ever had a credit card issued by them. As far as reporting HELLO!!!!! thats 80% of the nation that is behind on bills.  Thanks NAFTA!!!!!

This number called me twice a day everyday since 02/01/2010.

You dumbass, some of these people don't even have a card with Capital One. I pay my bill every month, on time. They still call. Get the hell off this forum if you're going to be so stupid.

I just called Capital One - I do have an account, in good standing, for many years now.  They told me that from time to time there are special offers that Cap one wants to get you to sign up for.  I said "time to time = several times daily and it has got to stop!"  They said it could take several weeks to have my number removed from the list.  So, it is not collections - just solicitation for new accounts and adding additional offers to existing accounts.

Attention ALL Debtors!  Very Important!!! Before you start to get behind on your payments for all of your various accounts go online and change your phone numbers to the local Dial up Internet numbers. Just google the local access numbers for your area aol earthlink verizon att sbc-global etc....  So that when  these [***] call they all they get is a headache from the annoying beeps and screeches from the modems. Works well if you can get it done before they start collections. F*** these collections a**holes in the rear and in the ear!

I kept getting calls from that number...finally picked up and it was a wrong number.

I called the 7070 number and told her I'm NOT this ALMA.  I'm MALE not FEMALE.  She hung up on me after I told her they call 6am,930pm and that is illegal. Told her I was calling my senator and she hung up on me . Where are the senators and congressmen.  They were supposed to stop all this BS.  Thast BS do not call list is full of it. What about it Nancy Polisi???? Bet you don't go thru this BS.....

Since they won't tell me where they got my number and I'm on the do not call list I just filed with the FCC.  I am absolutely fed up with this.  i don't have a capital one credit card and don't think I ever did.

They did say that this is a multi use line.  Collections, and telemarketing were two things they mentioned that it was used for.

This is Capitol One collections, I too was late once, 2009 was a terrible year.  But after making the required payment all calls stopped.  If they are still calling, call the number on the website and speak with and American in English and they should be able to clear things up.
