Stop calling me

Please stop calling. I receive between 7-8 calls from this number per day.

Says they are Cap One, call 2-3 times a day, with a "special offer"; suspect they are trying to reach prior user of assigned phone number.

We have no account with Capitol One.

This number calls my house on average of 8 times per day/7 days a week! I have spoke to them twice today, they ask for my hubby and he is not here! I offered to take a message or handle the call for him...like I always do...they hang up! I was able to catch the lady today before she hung up and tell her not to call my number again or I would file a complaint, that I offered to take a message so he could call them back when he got home....her reply...no thanks!
They will not give me any information or identify themselves in any way! But after doing research I did see that we were behind  one week on a capital one card so I am assuming this is a call from capital one! I caught the payment up yesterday! Still getting these phone calls!

Regardless of a debt or not.. There is a proper way to conduct business plus there are call restrictions for these collection departments of companies. Be aware of your rights as a consumer. Just because you have a debt does not mean companies can abuse you or not follow the laws for collecting such a debt.

* In most states there is a limit to total calls and frequency of the call per day. Let time I checked, collection companies can be fined if found guilty of calling multiple times a day and not leaving a message.

From what I can surmise from what little information I am able to obtain in regard to the phantom caller, "800-955-6600." From what little information I was able to gather, I now know the caller is Capital One. I have a couple lines of credit with them and always pay my bill on time with the couple of exceptions of 2 or 3 times in the 5 or 6 years that I have had an account with them. Also, "late" to me is 2 or 3 days late. These phone calls border on stalking. I will report them if they continue.

UNSOLICITED SALES CALL VIA AN AUTOMATED VOICE MESSAGE MACHINE PROMOTING CAPITAL ONE CREDIT CARD.  I WILL BE FILING A COMPLAINT.

Hey call me back. I think the taxpayers bailed you guys out. I charge 74.62345% interest calcated on the solar year of mercury....so you guys are in big trouble. I want my money.


Btw...i dont have a single credit card

This number calls me three or four times a day. When I answer there is no one there. I want this type of harassment to stop! My number is registered on the no call list but it doesn't seem to stop these type of people!

My elderly parent has gotten 12 calls from this number today, 8 yesterday, 11 the day before, 14 the day before that, 14 the day before..well you get it, its excessive. One day they called her 7 times in one hour. She NEVER had business with Capitol One..ever ever. She lives with me and does not have a single credit card. I log every call she gets, I finally got sick of them harassing her and calling her ugly names, calling her a liar, making her cry and they almost had her talked into giving up her debit card and social security info over the phone.... I took the phone and I laid into them. I dont let them get a word in edgewise. theyve called as early as 630am and at late as 1030 at night.  they kept promising me to take her number out of the autodialer but they never did. It got so bad that I got the authorities involved now if they call her again they can and WILL be sued and fined. Guess what they STILL call her but now I have a pro bono attorney going after them for harassment, It got so bad I had to get the authorities involved and we are in the process of getting her phone carrier to block the number from her phone.  dont put up with this crap.

I spoke to these people everyday for the past 4 days.  I spoke with them this morning and they call me again this evening!!!  They are relentless and use 2 different numbers and yes they are in India and refuse to connect you to any one who has a better grasp of the English language.

I am also receiving these calls, but I AM answering the phone.  Each time there is silence and then the caller hangs up.  This is even after answering on the second ring.  Thanks to all for identifying Capital One.  They recently purchased one of my credit card companies and since I've had problems with them in the past, will be closing ASAP as I never wish to do business with Capital One again.  I was given a work cell with this number in April and have been receivinng MANY calls from various creditors for the previous phone number owner.  THAT part is on the previous cell phone owner for not changing their contact information - which is obvious why she hasn't updated since they aren't paying ANY of their creditors!

SIDE NOTE:  One thing I've learned from my experience is even if you don't plan to pay, you should update your phone number with any company you do business with.  Even though no single company has provided private information protected by law, from all the calls I have received I have put together her first and last name, how much she is making biweekly, where she lives, who she does her banking with and who she has credit cards with.  Be sure to ALWAYS update your number or you risk having your identity stolen - or at the worst, have someone else telling your creditors you're obviously alive and gettinng a pay check because I get a text message every two weeks of a deposit to her account and here's how much she's getting paid biweekly....

I receive up to 10 calls a day from this number.  I have called them back and told them I do not have an account with them or owe them anything.  They asked me for my ss#.  Since I don't owe them anything and they are the ones who call me I refuse to give that to them.  I gave my name and asked who they were calling but they say they don't know the name.  The calls continue.    How can I get them to stop.

They are a real pita. It will be fun overloading their system with thousands of spam emails from Starbucks tomorrow. Can easily be hacked and done.

Received call from this number twice today, early morning and 6:30pm..
Both times there is NO one there... no one even breathing.... nothing...
