    Add them to your contacts and then depending on the phone you might be able to deny the call and send it to voice mail each time or some have a blocking feature to block anyone in your contacts.Look at what you phone can do.

    Or answer "local" police department how might I help you. Please insert your police department.

    It is Capital One so you might wish to send them a letter informing them to stop. Send it certified then after receipt  of the letter any calls record date and time and get one of these lawyers who will get a settlement that you get nothing but a quiet phone from. The settlements are usually eaten up in costs but the calls stop.

    I've been receiving calls from this number, I did miss my capital one payment last month, I am paying up my bill now.

    I get leery if I hear a voice with a foreign accent of any kind asking for money, How do I know who I'm really talking to???.

    Also, Isn't it illegal to call during the dinner hour (6 pm Central time) especially on Sunday!!!!!

    i honestly think its a scam.i did pick up but i got a hello twice in a female voice and nothing else i call back and its capital one.

    This number calls daily and weekends at both my home and government phones 5 to 50 times per day (per caller ID).  Since my husband became terminally ill, I had to put a message on the answer machine for callers to email me as I have cochlear implants and can't hear voice messages on the phone.  When I have answered, I either got no response or the speaker had such a strong accent I couldn't understand what or who they were calling for or about.  I asked them not to call anymore.  I was so angry when I read this caller might be Capital One, I called and closed my mastercharge account with them permanently.  The calls haven't stopped, even though I continue to make payments.  This goes beyond harassment.

    THIS IS a SCaM...............1800-955-6600....................this number is a scam, as well as other ones.   Do not, give out your credit card number, do not confirm your social security number. This is a scam.  Capital one would never ask for your 16 digit credit card number. Do not believe what any one says. It is a scam.............Before believing anything, call the phone number that is in the back of your credit card and ask them what they need.  DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR INFORMaTION......IT IS a SCaM.

    I get calls all the time, no one there. I have a zero balance, nothing out there--never have.  Therefore NOT credit dept here.

    I DID call into capital one.  They said to get as much information from them that you can, persons name, ID #, etc, and report to abuse@capitalone.com  they can investigate and let you know.

    It is Capitol One if you owe the debit then they can call you! You can however temporarily block the number if they are calling your cell...Good luck!

    I too DO NOT HAVE anything to do with capitol one...and I get 2-3 calls perday. I don't respond. I figure if it's really something pertaining to me I'd receive a letter. Since I do not have any thing with this company I doubt anything will happen.

    I got this morning and they di leave a voicemail message. Said they were with Capital One and needed to discuss a matter with me. Wow, just a day sending my payment to them and they are already calling. Don't they know you have no control over the mail.

    This is a scam!!  I have never had a capital one card let alone I have not had a active credit card in 5+ years this is un-real that this is still happening about a month Ago I finally answered the phone call that had been happening EVERYDAY 3+ times a day. I asked her what she wanted. She said I was late for a payment and I said how can that be when I don't have a card with you... She said she needed my social and my birthday and I laughed at her and said I would never give that out! She stalled. After a while I said hello... She said she needed the information to send it to her supervisor. I asked her how much the account was for and she did not reply... I said so ur telling me sombody stole my identity and u don't know how much the account balance is or how to help me!? And she just asked for my ss# again... They didn't call after
    That for about a month and a half... But I recived two calls this morning while I was still sleeping... When I called the number so I could yell at them there is two options give them the last four of your social or create a new account!!!!!  Are u kidding me.

    Ann, I have been receiving these calls on my direct line at work since July, 2014.  I do not have a Capital One credit card either and we haven't had any credit cards for several years.  I didn't start answering any calls until last week and told them to quit calling, that it was a business number.  This seemed to give them the okay to call more times per day.  I filed two complaints with the FCC and they have done nothing. Have put my direct line on the Do Not Call List, too.  Today, I finally decided to file a complaint with our Attorney General's office; am hoping this helps.
