    I work at home and these people get me away from my desk about 4 times a day and when I answer the phone, no one is there.  They're costing me time and time is money.

    Just received a call from 1800956600.  Yesterday received call from Capital One stating they were in receipt of correspondence to stop calling and to submit everything in writing.  This agency is now in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Act.

    This is the number for the collections department of Capital One.  I used to work there, so I know this number by heart.  Calls are dialed using an automated system and that's why there is no one there initially.  You are picking up before the call is connected to an employee.

    My son is getting these 800-955-6600 calls 3 times a day to his cell phone. He does not own a credit card. He does not have an account with Capital One. He has never taken out a loan. He has no association with Capital One.

    If you don't owe them money or don't have an account with them, I suggest that when you call 800-955-7070 you ask for someone from the "Senior Account Team". It took alot of demanding and forcing my way through, but after 2 people in India (collection adgency) one hang up, and one person in Canada (Account Rep) and being told I absolutely could not talk to these guys, my demands finally went unchallenged and they patched me through to Virginia. Or maybe if you can get a direct number to Virginia would be faster, but not nearly as fun.  :-)

    They still said it would be 3 to 5 days until these calls would stop.

    I have a card from capital one but they keep calling when i finally called to see what they wanted they said my account  was in collections which it isnt always pay on time which they confirmed apologized and put me on hold to speak to a manager that never came on the phone who was supposed to put an end to the annoying 4 times a day calls to my home and cell phone.

    It's a scam number.  Call it back and it says Capital one and they want your card number and your social security number.

    Who is this pay your bills person. Clearly they would not be on this site unless 1. they are getting the calls too (which would mean they are not paying their bills or 2. like many of us they are receiving calls not meant for them 3. they are some [***] collection agent working for Capital One and on a power trip.

    I don't even have a GD capital one card and they call me all the f-ing time!  Who do we report this to? Then if I try to call back, all I get is a prompt to enter my cc #.  I made up a fake one and a fake ss# and finally spoke to a woman with an indian accent.  When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was hung up on.

    received a call from this number this morning and stated they were Capital One and quoted the last four digits of my card number and would I like to make a free payment by phone?  The account is not overdue and she did quote my correct due date.  Given the current credit crisis, I will not give any payment information by phone.  This sounds like a major scam to me.

    My husband has a Cap1 card that until 2 days ago, had a zero balance.  

    We received two calls from this number today already. One at 8:11am and another at 11:40am.  The first I answered and held the line for 5 minutes listening to a hum or buzz on the line before hanging up. The second call disconnected immediately after I was asked to hold.

    After researching the number online, I called Cap1, the # on the back of the card. I asked why they were harassing us with phone calls. The rep told me, "Ma'am. We have NOT called you."  He told me all calls, automated or not, are automatically logged to the account with a time & date stamp. He didn't see any calls from Cap1 to us.  The last communication was when I called them 6 months ago about the same issue. At that time we were getting 5 or 6 calls per DAY.  Ugh. He advised me to Disregard any calls from that number and reminded me to NEVER give out any personal info - ie, SS#, CC#, etc. I wouldn't have anyway.

    They call all day long, 7 days a week.  I caller ID and at times, I have deleted this number alone 25 times within one week.  At what point does this become harrassment?  It is capital one.  They as for someone named Michael.  I tell them to stop calling but they don't.  I just deleted 17 calls from called ID.  they never leave a message but the caller ID traps the number.

    I actually just got somebody on the phone under this number after not responding to all the credit card and SSN questions. They claim to be a Capital One call center in India and they apologized for all the calls.  He asked for our phone number and promised me that they take us off the list.  I don't believe it, but it is a first step towards stopping them.  I wrote also an email to Capital One (abuse@capitalone.com) warning them that there will be legal action if they don't stop this.

    I have been unemployed for over 9 months and have been looking. I got behind in my payments and tried to pay what I could. It was never enough for them. Even after paying $100 that they agreed to, the very next week, they were calling several times a day demanding to know when the next payment would be sent in. They don't care if a person eats, has a place to live, heat, or anything. All they care about is getting their money. Greedy SOBS.
