- mcChris Cane called me regarding my son who is an adult, then asked about my other kids phone # if they were correct. No reason he should fish for family # if looking for a particular person. DONT GIVE INFO TO THEM they are guessing on their questions to try to seem legit.. says hes mailed to our address (which he had correct but I can confirm NO mail ever has come from from Williams & Fudge or Rock Hill SC - which he spent his entire intro describing the location and how close to Charlotte it was---I even asked him why that was important for me to know)
Trying to chum up with me for information hes not privileged to . Peroid. DONT ENGAGE IN CONVERSATION WITH THEM- Caller: could say- Privacy act supposedly

- harrassment/scam victim| 1 replySome smug little kid called me from this number and wouldn't let me get a word in. He was acting like i borrowed money from him, and said I better pay up or else. I would love to talk to him in person to see how tough he is then. I got the debt a year ago from ASU online. I had registered for a class online, by accident, and tried literally everything I could to cancel, but nobody could seem to help me cancel it. They charged me in full anyways. I swear to you alll this is an honest story. I want to take this to court as a scam, but they are all appearing to be in on it together (the people who work for the school and the debt collectors). ASU online is a scam!

Sitting quietly and waiting to get sued is no strategy. In the U.S. you have a right to both dispute a debt *and* control how and when you are contacted about it. An agency which cannot respect your rights should not be paid but sued by you for relief.

http://www.consumerfinance.gov/askcfpb/search ... debt-collection - debt collector replies to Katherine| 9 repliesKatherine, you should answer your phone .... We are not a scam company .. we do represent colleges and univerisites ... If you think you do not owe, then at least talk to us..If you don't answer how are we to know you have a dispute?
If you have loans in default they can impact your future. I promise, one day you will call us and want something immediately when you could have gotten it taken care of beforehand. - Professional Debt Collector replies to Resident47| 3 repliesResident 47...
What is your actual right?? We can NOT tell just anyone your business. We MUST verify who we are talking to so there is a verification process. Therefore, if you DO NOT comply, we can not tell you why we are calling. I don't think you would like us to talk to the wrong person about your debt.
Everyone in this thread since 2009 is incorrect in your statements. If you don't do this for a living then you wouldn't know. But trust me, we didn't buy any debt. Honestly, we are trying to help you. Answer your phones - verify your info (remember your ID # at the school is your SSN) so yes we have that .. and your DOB .... if you don't like the result of the call, hang up .. but at least try and discuss it with us .. we definitley want to help you and the school you went to! - Honestly, do you have an education? replies to debt collector| 6 repliesFirst off, "debt collector," you write like you received a middle school education and that's it so I assume you have no college debt. Also, [***].
Second, to anyone reading this...Contact the original loaner to work these things out. Debt collectors just want your money for themselves, not to help pay off any debt. Plus if you contact the original debtor, you don't have to work through these low life pieces of scum that actually have the balls to come on here and try to defend what they do. - LillieI got a message from a Josh McDaniels at this number asking for me to give a message to someone I didn't know. When I asked where and how he got my number and why he thought I might know this person, he couldn't answer it. In today's world my concern is this is somehow related to identify theft...be aware and concerned.
- Mark| 1 replyThese clowns keep calling for my son, they won't give me any info....
This happened once before with another organization, but they finally quit calling after I told them I found out what there scam was... Their reaction was to start calling me names...
I've found that if act incoherent, and start telling them stories that make no sense, pretty soon they will hang up on me....- Caller: Won't say
- Do not give your info! replies to Honestly, do you have an education?| 5 repliesIf you happen to answer, do not give these idiots any info... They buy old debts which are usually closed, and if they get confirmation from the person by getting them to verify their social and DOB they account is elegible to be reinstated.. That's how they make their money!!!
Know your debt, look at your credit report.. If it isn't listed on there it's doesn't exist. Don't get scammed!!! - jasmine| 2 repliesReceived a call yesterday while at work. I did not answer because the # was not in my contacts. They did not leave a message. They called again today and I could barely understand the person on the other line because of her accent. Anyway, she wanted me to verify my identity by giving her my address and the last 4 of my social. I told her that she needed to verify who she was first and then I'll think about ..giving her any of my info. She refused to do so she said I needed to identify myself so she can make sure that she was talking to the right person. I told her you called me, how about, you identify yourself and then we'll talk. She continued to say it was a very important matter and needed to confirm who I was. The conversation continued like this for a while and the girl on the line finally gave up. Not sure if that is the end of it though.
- Caller: Couldn't understand
- BettyI got several calls from this number . I called it back no one answers . What pisses me off is I just got this new phone number.
- Sarah MGot a call this morning from the number and, Stephen, the man on the phone was very rude and didn't even identify himself or his company to me at all. I also had to say "hello" FOUR times before he even said anything, and then he just started asking PERSONAL questions. I have no clue how they got my phone number when they were looking for my little sister, but I had to ask HIM the reason he was calling and he was not nice about it. Horrible business. I am thinking of calling their main line and issuing a formal complaint, I have NO clue how they would have even gotten my number, nor do I have any clue what kind of money my 19 year old sister would be owing.... annoying
- Caller: Williams and Fudge
- Just Verify replies to jasmineJasmine We have to verify your info so we make sure we are not talking to the wrong person. It's that simple. You have to do that when you call your creditors.
