I am paid ahead on my school loans so I'm highly confused as to what else they are calling for as everyone is stating they handle collections for school loans!

Thanks for the help in identifying the company.  However, most of you might want to handle your business a lil differently.  Seriously?  "I told them I don't owe that, because I've been garnished for years"... lol what a joke.  If you don't want them calling get it resolved.  If you don't have any business with them or don't think you do request proof of the debt.  Just fix it, don't ignore it.  Smh

This number called my cell phone (which he admitted to finding on the internet) and asked to speak to my father who has been deceased since 1984. When asked what the nature of his business was, he said "a college."  It was infuriating to say the least.

These people called & left a message on my cell saying they were the IRS with a final notice and to call back 270-535-3879. Luckily for me the # was out of service. So I went online to find out was I in trouble. I went on the IRS.gov main page and found where you can make a complaint against these people. It was just an online for to fill out and submit online. It  sounds like you have more info and we're harassed more than I was. You should definitely make a complaint, if you haven't already!

i received a call from 803-326-1984 informing me i owe 10,000 to my school that i finished almost 2 years ago. Plus somehow he got my work number and called 3x in one day. I have no idea how he got that number , i was not working where i currently work when i was @ school. So i am very flustered about left my 3 voice mails on my cell. very un professional also not true at all about me owning 10,000 His first question was " what is my address" ? SERIOUSLY i told him " what proof do you have that indicates i owe 10,000 ?? He hung up ! SO FYI don't freak out or give in when they say there calling from " Debt collector "

This is INSANE...everyone on here knows what they owe and to whom they owe it. No one bought your debt. Funny how everybody that is in collections never "REALLY" owes the money. Sort of like everyone in jail is "innocent".  if you are worried about getting YOUR debt reinstated, then you are admitting that it is in fact your debt that you don't want to deal with. Face it you are mad because someone is calling you out to be responsible, and you aren't ready yet. For those worried about identity theft,  I don't remember getting a call before someone stole mine to confirm it. Quit blaming collectors and accept your part in the phone call.  If it is the wrong number,  say so an get on with your life.

They do not quit calling even after telling them they have the wrong number! They think you are lying and you get harassed for a debt that does not belong to you.

This is a reminder written to myself to quit replying to posts with moronic comments.

I am getting calls from this number. The lady still arguing that we owe money for a college.... Who's college. My kids graduated long ago. We never had student loans.... paid full amount every single semester.

They need to rethink their business model. I'm NOT going to answer the phone for some scummy collections agency. I have no outstanding debt that I'm not already paying in the normal way (credit cards paid in full every month, student loan payments always made on time every month, etc.). In the past, I tried to answer when I got these calls and talk to these sorts of scumbags, just to be sworn at and yelled at, so yeah, I won't just "try to talk to them." That's not going to happen. They harass you and try to convince you that you have some debt you don't actually have and treat you like garbage. They won't even leave a message! If you have *legitimate* business, which you don't, send mail. Don't call five or six times a day and expect that it'll eventually wear me down. Jerks. The last scummy collections agency I dealt with insisted I was responsible for a debt I never incurred. I went through the proper process, filed all the right papers to dispute the claim, all of it, and they still wouldn't leave me alone. I finally said fine, if you're that convinced, sue me! I was willing to show up in court and dispute the claim. THAT finally made them leave me alone. These people are the scum of the earth. (Not necessarily the individuals working for them, though some are, I'm sure; others are just trying to make a living and get by. But the companies themselves? Total scum.)
